In "Five Years Gone", Sylar had DL's phasing power, which means that he must meet up with him at some point. Sylar has to be the one to kill DL, not bloody Linderman

Yea, i thought the same thing. And it looks like he's alive in the prieview for the finale.
True. The only thing that can change is people that Hiro interacts with and right now that has only been Sylar and Nathan (though Nathan didn't really care.) So DL should live for a little while anyway.

Maybe Sylar scrounges his body?
that'd be even more disgusting...

No, after the timeline is altered, THAT future won't exist. It's okay that DL died.
That's the whole reason the future was shown to us. It's to be used as a comparison, for dramatic effect. Not as a play-by-play blueprint.
Yeah but the only way that the future can be changed is if someone who knows the future changes it and the only people who went to the future are Hiro and Ando so if they don't interact with anyone than the future will play out in the same order of events. Though Hiro attacking Sylar may have already altered it in some way.

However, as of this point nothing Hiro has done from coming back from the future would have an impact on Nikki and DL's journey to New York to rescue Mica. So their path should still be the same as Five Years Gone up till this point where DL survives New York. Is this simple continuity error or does DL somehow heal with dead Linderman (can he heal himself?) being there?
ONLY the lives Hiro has touched and those they have touched could have altered anything at this point. Hiro and Ando have had contact with Sylar, Hiro's father and sword shop guy, and Nathan. No contact with Nikki, DL, Mica, Candice, or Linderman. The only other way they could have changed this future for DL is if them simply bumping into someone, causing that person to have a bad day and in result delay Linderman so that DL and him actually meet. Which would be a really lame way of explaining if DL died.

He better hurry, if he leaves the body out to long it will give him food poisoning!

Actually Anyone who Hiro has contact with has no set future, so anyone that that person has contact with is the same and so on, so since Hiro met Nathan, and Nathan met DL and Nikki, he could be dead because from the time he met Nathan after Nathan met Hiro, his future is uncertain.

Thats right, Hiro telling Nathan he was a villian could be what made the diffference, thus leading Nathan to tell Jessica and D.L. where to find Linderman, resulting in D.L. being killed sooner rather than later.
That or Sylar got the power from someone else who could phase in the future, you can't assume D.L.'s the only one who can phase. Probably the first one though.

If DL survives, I'm pretty sure Sylar will end up eating his brain, it's not rocket science people, it's brain surgery....

I'm betting that he let the bullet hit, phase through the vital organs, then he became solid again as it neared his back. Assuming his powers can react that quickly it
a) allows him to live
b) makes Linderman think he's dead long enough for him to kill him
and
c) protects Nikki from the bullet

I don't think so. It looked like he was coughing up blood and the such, but he could heal after touching Linderman, because we haven't learned if he has to do something besides touch someone to heal them. I mean he did just lay his hands on Nathan's wife.
For more info. See the promo images from next week in the spoiler section. Won't give details since we aren't in it, but it will shed some light. At least I think.

His phasing ability might allow for easy removal of the bullet, and this might be what saves his life.

Of course there's still the tiny matter of having to deal with internal bleeding and such... but hey, that's just a minor detail!

there's a lot of stuff that could happen that could explain him not dying...
but as for him being alive in the futrure...we don't know what could have happened...remember, they're all in the same city...in the future micah dies. for all we know, hiro got back and took a taxi that nikki and dl were waiting for, so they took a different route...even simple things like that could change everything...we shouldn't be so quick to scream 'error'...
