That was LASER VISION!! That was sick high intesity beam that came out as a laser... rather than the simple bursts of heat clark has been doing!

You do realize the topic of this post means that it was, in fact heat vision? :)

Not really, a laser is usually concussive as well as packed with heat, heat vision is simply heat, in part Heat vision would not have knocked him back, simply melt him.

So now Clark can throw laser beams..... ? Ridiculous. His ability is heat vision so i dont know what makes you think he has some other ability that doesnt give off heat....
Its heat vision..... that is the ability we all know.

I think its been headed that way for a while, because i think they have had episodes with the him knocking things out of the air.

it was heat vision. it looked lazar like because it was in slow motion. and ya the double negative in the title makes it that it was heat vision.

I think because Clark was really focused, as he heard Chloe say that the JL needed a nuke to break through a prototype's force-field.

yeah, he focused his heat vision so much that it used up all the money they had for special effects for this episode... notice the lack of effects when he used his super ear and super x-ray when looking for Wess.
haha.....super ear.

It seemed like they did something with the whole special effects, and I didn't like it.

Focused heat is still heat.

i was always under the impression that superman's heat vision was just that; HEAT. there was no concussive force behind it.
compare it to say cyclops' concussive eye blasts (which also happen to be solar powered... a little gee whiz info.) somebody sent this question in to Wizard Magazine, and they answered that while cyke can put force behind his eye blasts (enough to punch through steel, concrete, or even mountains), supes' vision is of the heat persuasion, with no force behind it.
they seem to bend the rules on this in Smallville, and it's always bugged me. and then last night it threw Wes across the warehouse/hangar/wherever they were. (i kinda tuned in late.)

Even in the comics, superman uses concussive force behind his heat vision.

Besides, it's been used before with all three Kryptonians, especially when they were trying to toss each other into the Phantom Zone glass.
