I actually thought about that while I was watching the show. Maybe his x-ray vision might be blocked by whatever shield Wes had, but surely he could hear his breathing or heartbeat.

I actually thought that (even though they didn't show the effect), Clark did use superhearing to localise Wes towards the end. 'Cause in the final confrontation, he seemed to know where Wes was BEFOPE Wes materialised. Maybe that was just me being charitable...

I similarly thought that Clark tried to use his X-ray vision after Wes had disappeared with Lois, but that they were long gone. I base this on the squint at the end of the scene, that's often used before they show the X-ray effect. Again, if you want to be charitable...

So this guy has super speed, invisibility for himself and objects in the viscinity, has super strength too????

Gosh that's alot for something created by Lex ( a bit too much don't ya think????)
Hey was there a scene cut off?? i thought last week during preview that CK said the dude had some sort of shield around him??

Strange. Regardless, he should have been able to hear the guy, seen him ect...

Maybe he has super stealth.... part of the invisibility is being stealthly quiet. maybe his force feild keeps his sound from traveling away from his person. Maybe Clark was just a little too distracted to think about abilities he had in season one. we will never know i guess

You might have a point.

I was yelling at the TV saying:

"Hello! X-Ray Vision!" "Super-hearing!"

I haven't seen Clark use either in a while. I hope the writers haven't forgotten about them. (i.e. Superbreath)

If you had played the Justice & Doom game last week you would know the 4 persons (actually 5) that provided the special DNA to Lex's project:

* Graham - invisibility
* Bart Allen - super speed
* Titan - super strength
* The Twins - force field (yes, those guys from Season 5's episode Mortal)

Well, some of them were taken without consent, of course.

I was wondering about this myself. I think toward the end, right before Wes materialized and tried to stab Clark, Clark had managed to pinpoint his location and looked up toward the rafters.

The director's should have made it a bit more obvious to the viewers if that's what they were trying to show. Maybe a shot of Clark cocking his head a bit more and "looking around" with his ear, then a quick stare to where Wes was hiding.

i thought the connection to the video was that with titan's dna all used up, lex was going to use this phantom next...

and i wanted to see clark punch him like in the previews too...a better fight scene would have been cool...

Yes, I agree. Lex knows that thing (the phantom) is not from Earth, so he is trying to get it for his project or already has it - now its DNA will be a big deal. No doubt the phantom will be an important part of the next episode.

I assume he was going to X-Ray the place but it is indeed possible that the field blocked his X-Ray. And if that's true then the field could also have been soundproof and no sound was escaping it for Clark to hear. Either way the guy came out quick enough for Clark to not to have to bother.

This episode was rushed...it feels like they just wanted to get some points across but not overly explore them. That's why Ares decloaked too soon, he could have attacked Clark cloaked, forcing Clark to use his other abilities (and spend more $$ on VFX), but instead they went for the cheap shot.....The point they tried to get across was that Lex is making super-villains in the end, and those supervillains will require heroes to rise to the call

Not only his super hearing, but he should be able to see someone invisible with X Ray vision as well.
