I didnt know anyone hated Heroes. Great plot lines, episodes that currently end with some kind of climax, unlike the current status of Smallville. Now dont think I am bashing SV. I still love it and watch it, but lets face it has lost its edge!

The two things I hate about Heroes:
1. I hate that Heroes only comes on once a week.
2. Heroes is only one hour long.

I understand that you think smallville is not as good as heros and I think I am pretty stupid to put this thread on this I was just really annoyed with the show smallville hasn't been on in Australia for more than 2 months I think that is why more people are, like throwing smallville in the bin and watching heros:eek: and on your and my side here is a picture Smallhero

I have been watching the old Superboy series on AOL Videos (Do NOT download the HD Player/downloader it is full of spyware), I didn't get to see them when they were first aired, they ain't bad.
Smallville is five years older.
No one is going to get drawn into a flame war with you.
I am sorry you do not like Heroes, but people have diffrent tastes in Entertainment.
I don't like Anime stuff, but it really dosen't bother me if others do.
I don't like reality shows like American Idol or dancing with the stars, but it seems millions of others do. I have no problem with that.
We are family here and guests of Craig, so have fun and don't sweat it if you don't like a paticular series if someone else does.

Craig (the owner and creator and all around cool dude) wanted it to be here.
There is more than Smallville & heroes on this site, look around and you will see all kinds of threads about all kinds of series.
Plus, Smallville will be closing the doors on the series soon, more thn likely after the next season, so it is good to look to the future.
Plus, there is no reason to be hostile towards the people here, we really are fun folks to be around:D
Personally, I think you will fit in great around here, read up on all the threads on Kryptonsite and you will have a lot of fun.

1) Cuzzo I can barely read that. The grammar, spelling, and attempts at reasonable thought is ridiculous.
2) No one cares that you don't like 'heros'
3) No one is trying to make you like 'heros'. Again we don't care what you
like or don't like. So don't come here with that "no one can make me" nonsense. I'll repeat it one more time to make sure you understand: NO ONE CARES.
4) Don't disrespect this forum. If you don't like the fact this site has a Heroes sub-forum, tough. You can leave at any time. No one is keeping you here, so feel free to depart this great forum which the rest of us love.
5) It's spelled Heroes not Heros! Spell it with me now: H-E-R-O-E-S. Your gold star is in the mail.

Anyways, as for the actual question. I love Smallville and I love Heroes. I just love Smallville more because the character will eventually become Superman (in the future, perhaps not on the series) and Superman is far more important to me than these new Heroes on this show. There is no reason one can't love them both for different reasons. It's not like they're in competition.

I love Smallvile, and I also love Heroes. But let me just point out that this is, technically, a Heroes sub-forum on a mainly Smallville centered message board which is part of a Smallville centered website.
Not that I agree that people should be going around blasting shows saying how much they hate them in their message boards, but well, it's happened on the Smallville side of this forum off and on for forever, I see no reason it can't happen here, too, other then the fact that people are still in the "fresh and new" phase of Heroes and are going to defend it rather than just letting the haters come (as we all know they eventually will).

I find it hard as well to unsdertsand. My only problem is that when I go to complain I get mad and misspell words. So it makes me look stupid! But seriously to those who have created threads like this. Why? Would you go into bar and yell I hate drinkers! Or the obvious walk into a crowd of (insert your color here) and yell i hate (insert the same color here)? It's ridiculous. It does seem that its a strive for attention, even if it's not. You could get the same question answered by posting it in the original Ksite forum for Smallville. At least then you would have the correct entourage to back you, and most of us here would be in there to contribute. The main problem everyone is having is where it was posted and the bluntness of the statement. If I were to post the same exact question in the Smallville site with the names swaped, I would get attacked just the same. On a side note as well; I think we could agree on Smallville this season. It appears that almost everyone here is a SV fan and watches it regularly. We all just think this season is lacking depth and creativity. We have also received so much of what we were missing from Heroes which is why we defend it so much. If this were the fourth season of SV, then no one would dis SV in any way. And I personnaly cant wait for next season of SV and the one after that, I just want more for my advertising dollars!

The original poster is an eleven year old kid, and was just trying to get people's hackles up.
She is a new fan who is overly excited about her new passion for Smallville.
Almost every member here came to Kryptonsite because of the camaraderie and like intrest in Smallville, as an eleven year old, (IMO as a parent of an eleven year old girl) she felt defensive when anyone dosen't agree with her level of passion.
My daughter did the same on a fan board for a Nickelodeon series she is nuts about.
She was banned and couldn't understand why until I sat her down and explained in detail why she was banned.
Again that is why I tried to handle her with "kid gloves" and steer the mood of the thread a little to the calm zone ;)
I never pick on someone who makes a spelling error, especially on Kryptonsite, many - many members here don't use english as a first language.
And I don't want to look stupid when I miss a letter either :P

I never watched Heros when it came on. I figured it was a mish mash or rip off of X-MEN or JLA or any number of superhero related properties. A lot of friends told me how great the show was so when sci fi played a marathon I dvr'd the show. Well I was hooked. The show was really well done and unlike other shows that are afraid to move a story to it's logical conclusion this show does no matter the consequences. No storyline is dragged out just for the sake of longevity, instead questions are raised, problems arise, and action is taken. Is this show totally original? No. But it is well done. Unlike a lot of shows that are totally dark Heros is suprisingly lighthearted. The show actually manages to inject a good dose of humor through it's characters, as well as hope. I love Smallville and Superman but even I gotta admit this season was not on the level of Heros. Maybe next season Smallville will finally move on with the story of the man who will be Superman. For anyone who has not seen Heros I say give it a shot. I was very resistant to seeing the show, but decided to keep an open mind and was pleasently rewarded.
I love Smallvile, and I also love Heroes. But let me just point out that this is, technically, a Heroes sub-forum on a mainly Smallville centered message board which is part of a Smallville centered website.

I've been on this site for a little while now and noticed the Heros forum. When I heard about the show I had many negative things I wanted to say on this forum about it. but 2 things stopped me. 1 I hadn't really watched the show. Only maybe 3 or 4 minutes, and that's really not a good way to judge anything. My preconception was based on my familiarity with the genre and thinking it was a rip on X-Men. 2 If someone is passionate about something why ruin it? Noithing I can say is gonna change anyones mind about something they care about. I will say this to anyone that wants to condem without having seen a show, Don't.Because if you eventually do and end up liking or even loving the show you'll seem very foolish.

Well said Roland.
I told others about Heroes and they just shrugged and said from the promotions they didn't think it was going to be worth it.
Then, after the Sci-Fi marathon, when I next saw them, they said "Why didn't you tell me how good Heroes was, dang I missed out!"
That is why when a new series comes out, I give it at least two episodes before I pass final judgement on it.

Well Iwas hooked at episode 1. One cool thing about catching it late was no long wait for the next episode. And all I said to those who told me about Heros was 'Wow you were right!"
Callisto Joins Heroes!
Source: The Hollywood Reporter June 1, 2007
Dania Ramirez, who played Callisto in X-Men: The Last Stand and has a recurring role on "The Sopranos," has been added as a regular on the NBC's hit series "Heroes." The show returns for a second season in the fall.
Ramirez will play Maya, a new hero whose powers are being kept under wraps.
"Heroes" extends Ramirez's relationship with NBC. This past development season, she co-starred in the network's drama pilot "Fort Pit."
Maya is one of four to five new characters expected to be added to "Heroes" next season, but her character might be the only regular one. The other roles, most of which are said to have international flavor, include a sexy boyfriend for Claire (Hayden Panettiere), a 28-year-old black mother, a surrogate for Niki's (Ali Larter) son and an Irish mobster.

Doing a little sleuthing here...
The OP, Kayla, is a whopping eleven years old - if one believes the profile. It's apparent her communication skills are still developing, as are her abilities to recognize that different people have different tastes, and that hers are not the end all and be all of the world. I'll give her some slack.
Either that or "she" is deliberately trolling. If that's the case, we're all wasting too much time on her as it is.

It is easy to see why some people do hate heroes. It is first an icredibly hard show to understand if you have not been watching since the first episode. Then, even if you have, the extreme depth of plot and character development in each episode may still confuse you (how many people here got headaches just trying to figure out all the timetravel stuff in Five Years Gone?) Thirdly, the huge cast makes it hard to track all of the different characters.
Smallville for the most part is easy to understand even if youve never seen it before. Clark Kent and Lex Luthor are American Icons. Even though there is normally a season-arc many episodes are devoted to FoTW that dont require and viewer knowledge. It also has much more pound-for-pound action the heroes (case in point- compare the two season finales). Its realy easy to see, especially for younger viewers, why Smallville would be prefferd.
I do enjoy both series; I enjoy seeing a dark, manipulating version of LL instead of maniacal crimenal trying to acquire real-estate, and seeing the evolution of Clark Kent. And every addition to the Mythos, Lionel and Chloe espicially, has been a positive one, and every reimaging, from Bizarro to Mxypklk, have been great. But I prefer the complex, twisting plot and character development of heroes.
To the original poster (if he/she is indeed 11 years old): I say don't give up on Heroes. You don't like it now, but try it again when your a few years older. Your tastes will have matured, and you may actually like it as much as you like Smallivlle.
Oh, and one more thing- a lot of the people who work on Heroes worked previously on Smallville, if that helps you open up to the series.

Some series aren't for everyone.
I know some people that actually don't *GASP* like Smallville or even worse Dr. Who.
Just like myself, I watched a couple of episodes of "Lost" and I just didn't get into it, yet it seems to have a large following.
PS. I don't like American Idol either. I know, I know...I must be a freak.

And I ain't gonna fall for that one again.

I think the main problem with shows like Heros, 24 or Lost ids that they are very serialized. If you miss an episode of any of these shows you're missing a piece of the puzzle. Unlike Dr Who or Smallville where you can just enjoy the week's adventure. In the case of serialized shows I prefer it if every episode is relevant ala Heros or 24. Lost seems to veer off from this to it's own detrement.
Wasn't the winner supposed to get his own movie?
on Who wants to be a Superhero?

The winner was supposed to get his/her own comic (Dark Horse Comics) and (as they said) "Be in a Sci-Fi original production".
After I found that most all the contestants were already actors and the show was scripted in advance I decided not to watch the next "season".
The "Feedback Comic" has been on pre order for almost a year so far.

That is why I have three available VCRs and two TV cards for the computers.
Someone I know complained they didn't have a VCR, I told then to take a trip to any pawnshop, they are selling the high end VCRs around here for between $5 to $20.
DVD players are close to that too.
(I love pawnshops, I get some great DVDs there, I just bought the entire Star Trek: Enterprise series for almost nothing.

I had around 350 VCR movies that I would never watch again, they were taking up a HUGE space in storage, so I took them to a pawnshop and they gave me $1 each.
That made for a great three day weekend vacation ;)
I also buy old computers at pawn shops for almost nothing, and I use the parts to repair computers that come into my shop (I charge accordingly), I find a lot of older parts that aren't sold anymore or would cost an arm & a leg to order.
When they know that you know the computer has been sitting gathering dust for over a year or two, they will see it super cheap ;)

Doesnt matter, you're hooked! You can catch up really easy,
There are only 3 season so far! Season 1 has only 5 eps and 2 and 3 have 13 each. Season one can be bought for $15 and 2 and 3 for about $25-30. Great show to own, since you can easily watch an entire season in two days.

One of the best parts of The 4400 is that it has Jeffrey Combs on it, he is one of my favorite character actors.
He has played a character, sometimes more than one, on all the Star Trek series except the original series.
From a Ferengi to an Andorian.
His role in "The Frighteners" was one of my most favorite :D

Hey, I phoned the director of programming for NBC Universal, and I dictated this directly:
"Good evening, and thank you for your value input on how much you hate heroes, I'm writing to inform you that we now have a 3 step cure to rid you of your hatred of heroes:
1.) take all the episodes of heroes and this thread
2.) insert said thread and episodes of heroes somewhere uncomfortable, that is not the back of a volkswagen.
3.) squeeze, rinse, repeat until all thoughts of heroes is replaced by the feeling of violation you've just submitted yourself to.
Once again, NBC/Universal would like to thank you for your ongoing commentary and input on our programmes, and encourage you to make absolutely no further commentary any further unless you engage brain before mouth.
Thank you, good day sir.

I won't go so far to say Smallville SUX but it is in a bit of a slum. Yeah it has gone down over the years and had it's sweet surprises throughout but i'd like to see them really make something of this season if it's the last (i don't know). But don't get me wrong i aint hating on Heroes cause i love Heroes to death and it's absolutely the best show i've seen in my entire life (thus far). It's just packed with sweetness in ever bite. I love 'em both and i wouldn't really be disappointed if they stopped doing Smallville after this year just as long as they try and make this year a good ending season. But i'd never wanna see them stop Heroes unless it began dragging like Smallville currently has.

I mainly come here to talk about Smallville because no matter how many times that show lets me down I can't stop watching it and analyzing it to death, and it's about Superman for God's sake!. But, lets's face it, Heroes is what Smallville could have been. Heroes proves that it's possible to write a show about superhero's and still take it seriously. Heroes has so much depth. It never lets me down.

WATCH IT (SMALLVILLE)
I agree, Smallville is way better. I could only watch Heroes after the first season was over, and I rented the DVD's so I could fast forward the boring parts. It drags so much.
I just recently watched the current season online, and had to fast forward most of that, way more than the first season. I'm not sure about watching it on TV, maybe just watching later online when I can FF. The problem is....my favorite stories on Heroes drag way too much, to the point I'm not sure it will hold my attention.
Smallville keeps my attention every week, even with commercials, I could never miss an episode. lol

Now i love Smallville as much as the next guy but the one thing that made it kind of stupid after about 3 seasons was a new meteor freak every episode...i mean that's basically what the whole season would boil down to was Clark fighting some new freak every episode and it was like can you please stop coming up with these stupid ways of having kryptonite make people different. Yeah in some seasons there were bigger stories like the stones, 33.1, fortress of solitude, Clark & Jor-El, etc. but i wanted to see more character development and story drive other than who's the bad guy of the week.
Of course i'll never stop watching cause i was a fan from the very first season, plus it's about Superman, secondly cause i love comics, and did i say it was about Superman...lol. And the bigger story archs like the stones and what not still help hold my attention.
I guess i'm trying to say i love how Heroes is like the day in the life of a hero...what kind of normal every day things they would have to go through and how their abilities would affect that...yeah Smallville had it to but this is more realistic to me (personally).
Again i still love Smallville and Heroes but i like Heroes better.
I really love the show but I'm hoping they can pull it out of the slump it's sinking into. They need to get rid of some of the deadweight on the show.......stat.

You're very right. But unfortunately, since people on the internet are usually anonymous, they don't act (or type) as they should. I'm guilty of it. We're all guilty of it at some point. It's human nature.
But another part of human nature is that we can improve ourselves. You have had this revelation, hopefully others will as well.
