i was wondering why he didn't use xray vision to find the guy!!! I said that as soon as he was looking really crazy while he was looking for him, i literally screamed at the tv and said you have xray vision!!!! lol

I practically yelled at the tv...though in the end why did Wes take off the camouflage did he want to die?

Didn't he spatter that invisible guy from the first season with paint? I don't think he used his x-ray vision then either.

I wondered that, too. Lol.

THANK GOD. I thought I was the only one who was screaming at the damn TV.

Maybe he knew that if the guy was invisible on the outside, he wouldn't be able to see him with X ray vision?

I wondered that too. But I figured maybe because Wes had alien DNA mixed in him from a phantom possibly, it left Clark unable to see him.

Clark didn't even try, I guess its cause hte spent so much money on the camouflage effect, Super Speed(barely visible) and forcefield, and of course the mini-nukes that Clark launched out of his eyes.

I'm so glad I wasn't the only one yelling at my t.v. to turn on the x-ray vision hello he has a skeleton right !! OH and I think the reference to the invisible guy was from last season's Fade the
one where the guy could get in anywhere and was gonna off Lex for Clark savin him

I like your reasoning alienkinfolk, however, TPTB could've at least let him TRY to use his X-Ray vision. That way there would be fewer cases of laryngitis from people screaming at their TV's! Me included! :)

They had to save the fx budget for the intense heat vision close up:\

The way X-Ray vision has been done in the past (and not just for Smallville) is that it's not something that can see something that's invisible. There's one classic SCTV skit from the early 80's I recall as one of my favorites from the series where "The Man with the X-Ray Eyes teams up with the Invisible Man." They get into a fight with each other at the end of the comedy skit and the all the see-thru vision in the world wouldn't let the X-Ray vision see the invisible man.

Anyhow I didn't think for a second that Clark was somehow supposed to see Wes, because X-Ray vision usually doesn't work that way in the comics.

Now, Superman may have some infrared vision ability - something I don't think we've seen yet. But I don't recall Clark ever seeing anyone who was invisible before.

And even if that were the case, maybe whatever energy shield that Wes had also bent X-Rays around him so that Clark couldn't see him.

i figured the vision wouldn't work w/ the super camo but i was at least expecting him to use super hearing. its a 4 dollar effect and would of made for a cool twist if he had heard him, turned and pulled the cyclops blast!

Yeah super hearing, and him fightin someone who was invisible wouldnt' cost as much. I just expected a real fight. Instead we see one really good punch and one really good lightshow. BAM! Game over.

Was I the only one who kept expecting to see the the Ist person view of Clark turn to the camera and knock Wes in the mouth?! I was like "...wait for iiiiit...waiiiit fooooorrrrr iiiiiiit.....".

Seems like a wasted opportunity in my opinion. Well i guess really he shouldnt be able to see someone who goes invisible unless its just a super-camouflage-(spell?)powered being.

I'm getting kinda sick of him not using his super powers except for stregnth and speed. He does remember he has Heat Vision, X-Ray vision, super hearing and super breath right?

He could of used his kryponian telepathy to find him.

For an object to become invisible, light has to either be completeley refracted off of it or light has to "bend" around it. So, x rays would be useless in actually seeing the guy.

But suspending my disbelief for a moment, yeah, at the time I was shouting at him to use his x-ray vision because nothing ever really makes sense with superhero physics :p

Speaking of other powers... He could have used his super hearing to locate the prototype like Sylar does in Heroes....

Show's dumb.....

perhaps, BUT he would see where he was in relation to everything around him.

I don't think he knew that Wes could go invisible. Before when he took Lois he told Chloe he just disappeared like when Alicia would teleport.

'course after Wes appeared up on the rafters, THEN Clark knew, but he took Wes out before he could disappear again.

With Clark'as super senses he should have at least located his general vacinity. Clark looked clueless. I agree, BAD writing! BAD production!
