So this season we and clark learn he can control his heat vision to a small surgery heat laser to a full blast heat vision that equivalent of half a mega ton bomb.

Lex would LOVE to do the trench run on Clark and drop his proton torpedo into Clark's exhaust port. :p

I hope he gets laser vision. But something tells me that will either be after training or never seen on this show.

Wow Clark gave Wes an ass whipping just from his heat vision. It shows me that Ollie and his crew are pretty weak if they need a half mega ton bomb to defeat a super strong guy.

In all seriousness, I could be completely wrong about this, but it seems like I read an article a long time ago that in real life one of the reasons why lasers had been studied by the government for military applications wasn't because they generate heat, but because that much energy focused in a tight beam actually translated into tremendous concussive force.

If that's true then it would make sense that at high power Clark's heat vision would not only be very hot, but also hit like a small nuke without the associated radiation.

Well, maybe this is a step towards Clark becoming the uber-Superman we saw in the latest movie. I mean honestly if Clark could see his own future, he wouldn't know himself. He'd say something silly like "That guy has abilities I could only dream of..."

Bring on the manly Superman...the Superman who tosses Kryptonite continents into outer space...w00t!

I'm sure there are discussions on it elsewhere, but I think a lot of people didn't grasp the fact that he had a layer of bedrock between himself and the green until chunks of it started falling away in the upper atmosphere.

Still, it's pretty sweet that he's using some abilities at a more Superman level...hopefully we'll see more of that before it's all over.

Kryptonite usual sinks through everything but lead.

That's why they have lead covering, instead of just other metals.

The whole kryptonite thing fluctuates.

With kryptonite that big, he really should have felt the effects way before he landed. But i guess the argument is that since it was mixed with rock it wasn't as strong.

But kryptonite in just its general presence makes superman feel ill.

but back to the topic, I too hopes he reaches the Superman Level--though I was practically yelling at the TV for him to use X-Ray.
