One of my favorite parts of this episode was Lana saying to Lex "no more secrets". You could feel the venom dripping from it: she's finally realised that Lex has been playing her insecurites for YEARS. And then after the fake baby thing, he has the nerve to threaten her if she betrays him. Love it: so in character for Lex to not understand that you reap what you sow.

I don't read spoilers and don't want to know anything about them, but I think Lana is pretty much guaranteed to be dead next week. There is no way Lex would ever let her live. If she hides or fakes her death, he will find out using his resources. If she changes her identity, he will also find out, because as Lionel had contacts in the govt that told him where Chloe's safehouse was, so would Lex.

I think it's unfortunate that they wrote the plot in such a way where it's impossible for both Lana to live and for Lex to become the classic, brilliant, evil Lex we all know. Farewell Lana.

Have to laugh at this. How often do Lex's schemes work in the comics/cartoons/movies?

Well, then TPTB put themselves in a no-win situation. If Lana dies, then it's clear that Clark would not choose to become Superman had she lived. If she lives, then Lex Luthor becomes a pathetic villian who can't even locate his former wife (whom he promised harm to if betrayed by her) with all the resources at his disposal.
