I think they have been setting up Lana's death since she has been with Lex. Lana's death is the only thing that will break the bond between Lana and Clark so he can move on to Lois.

Her death could be faked to protect her from Lex and I wouldn't be surprised if Martha Kent doesn't help Lana but she doesn't tell Clark and Lana will show up sometime next season. Cark will be upset but I think the time away from Lana and thinking she's dead will allow him to move on.

Lana doesn't need to be killed off. Clark needs to accept his destiny..which is something that he's been doing lately. In the comics, Clark and Lana are in love, but DESTINY tears them apart so no one has to die really.

To be honest..I can't see this Clark Kent moving onto this Lois..EVER. What guy has she not been involved with on this show?

Well Lex was told by the Senator there's a mole in his organization, and Lex isn't talking so much about Lana leaving him as much as betraying him. A woman can leave a man without betraying him. Lex has been betrayed alot by the women in his life, and that (among other things) turned him into a womanizer who keeps psychologically detached from most women.

He fell in love with Lana but went too far to keep her. But I think he fears her betraying him more than leaving him.

I think it was security cameras- or maybe he thought that the interference with the Prototype was that someone had been told secret information about it.
