Well at least this episode has Lois realizing it's not a "REAL" news paper and no one will take her seriously while she works there.

Yeah, but it shouldn't have taken her that long. The amonia fumes must be doing serious damage on her.

I'm glad that her working at the Inquisitor is becoming a problem with her career. This will be the start of Lois realizing that the Inquisitor is not for her. All in all, a great Lois episode.

They made such a big deal over it, mentioning numerous times that Lois was not going to be "taken seriously" while she was there. I think that was a set up for her to start moving on. With "Smallville" winding down she's probably about to make her jump to the DP.

Call me crazy but I have more respect for the Catbox Liner than the Daily Planet of Smallville.
IMO, The Luther's own the editor of the Daily Planet. Smallville has not cast DP in a good light.
Perry would never strong arm Jimmy because a Luther got his panties in a twist. He also would not have hired Chloe because a Luther got his panties into a twist.
In short, the Daily Planet of Smallville sucks.

Yeah, exactly. I would love to know how many times she said, "I'm Lois Lane." "Lois Lane" "Remember me? Lois...Lois Lane." What the hell? Does she have amnesia? So annoying!

I guess she said it a lot just to remind people that she is Lois Lane, in case some didn't think so?:p I don't know, but it's an interesting observation that you've just made.

Why because it doesn't have your precious Lois Lane employed there?

Good point. The DP is just a building full of workers scurrying around for no reason. What is Perry blind?Chloe stays on top of lead stories and is still in the basement! They haven't shown a reputable reporter at the DP since Chloe got there. And as you said the Luthor's own the DP...yeah real reputable!

The Luther's run the DP. That is why. Read my post and then come up with a reply that actually fits it.
I'm kinda wondering about all the cat references in the episode. A bit strange.
Lois Lane has the James Bond way of introducing herself. Lane...Lois Lane. Nothing wrong with that......maybe she's just seen one too many movies. Or maybe she just really wants people to remember her name.
I agree - glad that Lois finally saw the light about where she works. Time to get a job at the 'Planet.

maybe they should get some of the inquisitor back issues over to the mansion for Lana (referring to Lex's telling Lana she wasn't a cat)  Maybe there was a cat theme tonite for a reason...anyone notice that?

The writers are mad like me that the Black Cat has not made her appearance in the Spiderman movies.
They were dropping major hintage of that fact...lol.

good observation. I know a guy that introduces himself like that, odd but true. This guy I know is overly confident, IMO just like Lois. or they are both as you say 007 fanatics.

Yeah, I do sort of agree about how awful the DP is on SV.
Lionel Luthor bribed a few ppl to get Chloe in, and that was EXTREMELY easy for him... and he scared Perry off and made sure no one wrote his stuff- and he ended up in a place worse then the Inquistor- and it seems to back off easily from issues.
And it hired crazy!gossip columnist... instead of fabulous!Cat Grant... which is a huge mistake in my book! :p ;)

How have they not noticed how Clark suddenly shows up and then disappears?
How is it that Clark can get into the building without being stopped and or noticed? Do the cameras in the building only work when Lana gets shot? Clark's secret should be out if the DP was such a place for great journalist.
Those cameras should have caught Clark catching Chloe.
DP of Smallville is off...

Doesn't Lois Lane in all incarnations introduce herself like that?

The Inquisitor...That's a Catbox Liner
i took it as this is just the type of motivation lois needs to become a better reporter , and become lois. My opinion, and everyone is entitled to theirs, yours , and mine included.

It reminds me of the way she introduced herself to a brainwashed Clark in Crusade. "Lois. Lois Lane."
But this time, she said her surname first maybe as a sign towards her introducing herself professionally in her career as a journalist. That's also why she still keeps her maiden name name after she has already married Clark.

Yes, she does. Especially in Lois & Clark: TNAoS, when she was reporting at a press conference or something. (She would also add ". . . of the Daily Planet" at the end as well).
I was waiting - between all the *****y comments in this thread - for someone to point that out.

I knew I wasn't crazy, because when she said that, I had flashbacks.

I kinda figured she said it for safety...
If I worked at the DP I would have said "Oh... I work at the Inquisitor..." so that The senator would be a lot less likely to be like "Okay! Let's get rid of her, she's a big time reporter!"
It was a good precaution. Or try...

she had to start somewhere before she became the front page writer of the dp, and it took pointing out to lois that if she dont take her job seriously no one will take her seriously

Exactly. I like seeing how Lois gets to where she does, and learning and growing into the reporter she later becomes.

I hope they'll make Perry the EiC first before Lois got into the DP. He already works there, but he needs to be in a top position where he could clear out the current skeletons in the DP closet.
