Well it's definately either Ted or Sylar that is gonna blow up New York. The painting shows that Sylar is gonna meet Ted and they have a show down. I think that either Peter or Nathan will fly the bomb into the sky and let it go off there.

nope sorry. sylar thinks he`s the bomb, but hes not. and ted isnt either. peter is the bomb, we saw that in the future. and now that he`s met ted its definate.
Yeah but It can be assumed that everything that Hiro does from now on changes what should happen. At this point they can have anyone blow up.

but mohinder said there were to events that drastically change the future, the bomb and peter on the subway with mohinder in `hiros.` and i doubt hiro could change anything as the bombs goin off.

It's either Peter or Ted, or Peter or Sylar. The only way that Sylar can become the bomb is by "eating" Ted's brain. If the course of events plays out the way they ended up in "String Theory," it's not going to be Ted, because he'll be the main course for Sylar pretty soon.

That should end the thread and state that Ted is not the bomb yea?

But if Sylar knows he'll blow up after gaining Ted's power, what makes him certain he'll be able to recover from it?

Well we know that he could because Ted doesn't get hurt by his power but since Sylar didn't know that he wasn't too excited about the thought of getting Ted's powers until after he killed his mommy dearest - now I don't think he really cares if it kills him or not, just as long as the world suffers with him.

So here it is: my 2 cents.....
It's no longer Peter. Peter blew up in the other timeline becuase he couldnt handle the power. In that timeline Claire was dead! Claire is not dead now and is packing heat. She kills Peter to keep him from exploding! He recovers and Ted tells him how to control it!
It's not Ted . Ted has control of his powers now and can even jump start car... way cool by the way... know. Everyone with Ted knows what he can do and knows to stop him they need to knock him out or kill him. Ted also is at the point where he does care and wants to live. MAking him not as scary anymore.
It's Sylar. Hes painted it, he knows how to do it and worse is now he thinks it is destiny, making it is goal now!

That's what I was thinking. And Peter just got the power and will learn how to control it two days before the bomb, so how could it be him?
It has to be Sylar. BUT! If Hiro kills Sylar, then there is no bomb. So they are building us up for nothing?

OK, just for the record, the "Sylar Theory" requires Sylar to kill Radio Ted and eat his brain. Just making sure the Sylar theorists are on board with that.
BTW, if you'll recall, Ted lost control when he got shot by what's his face. Nothing's to say that he doesn't lose control again, say... um... when Sylar starts carving on his head, maybe?

Brain Man can freeze Mr. Sprague and then cut his head open, much like he did with Claire in "Five Years Gone". And just becuase Peter doesn't explode right now and gets some control soon, doesn't mean there can't be some circumstances where he would Blow up anyway. Same thing with ted.

Very true, if someone else ever showed up with POP they could instruct them to.

Why is this so hard to understand, lol? Future Hiro went back in time to make sure that Claire would live and Sylar wouldn't get her power. Then came back to his present to find Present Hiro and Ando in Isaac's apartment and found out that due to his warning to Peter, Claire was still alive - but the bomb still went off anyways!!!! Mainly because of our Present Hiro's goof up that made him timeshift to the future and technically made him miss the opportunity to kill Sylar when Isaac predicted it.
The path the show is on right now is the path that leads Peter exploading just like he did in the future, unless Present Hiro can do something since he's the only one in this timeline that has any hope of not making the same mistake twice. Time is like a loop and everyone is doomed to make the same mistake over and over. Their only real hope is Present Hiro and Ando since they have the oustide information about the future. Their actions and their actions alone are the only thing that really matters. Maybe they will be able to kill Sylar before Sylar can "goat" Peter into exploading or maybe it will be something smaller, like maybe they will have a conversation with Nathan and let him know how bad the future sucked and make him change the path that he's on.

My thoughts exactly. Peter might be able to control the power but that doesn't mean he wont lose control.

It's going to be Peter, his prophetic dreams are the strongest evidence of this. I've seen quite a bit of sci-fi in my time and would be disappointed and surprised if it doesn't turn out to be Peter after everything the show has done to develop and lead up to this.
It's too obvious for it to be Sylar, the evil villain who kills people.
Making it the good guy (Peter) is far more interesting.
And it would never be Ted, Ted (the caveman:lol: ) is too non-important in the overall scheme of the show.
Peter's going to explode, it's just not going to destroy New York.

??
All events lead up to the destruction of New York. Why do u think New York isn't going to be destroyed. Even the picture in Linderman's collection shows Micah in a pretty messed up New York. Even Peter and Sylar's painting show the same.... So if Peter doesn't cause New York's destruction...Who or what does ?

But they have us all believing its Peter, thats why its not going to be him. It's way to obvious.

Well, I guess the main reason I don't believe that New York will be destroyed is because of 9-11.....if it were some other city, then all bets would be off...

My pick is Peter because Future Peter flat out said that he was the one that went BOOM.

The only problem I see with using this as a main basis for believing is that the timeline of that episode likely will be replaced by something different, as it's almost a given that NY won't be destroyed as it was in the dark future (again, because of 9-11), meaning that other things can be different as well....so again, if you use this as your only basis it's a tougher sell.
