Wow, really can't stand Hemingway...too depressing for me
I read Pride and Prejudice after I saw the movie 2 years ago...loved that....
I'm a big Jane Austen fan. Also like the Divine Comedy.
I also kinda consider other books classics in their own way too - like Anne Rice ;)

Dracula and Crime and Punishment have to be my favorite classics. And of course, the Vampire Chronicles, Tolkien, and Lewis's work!

I love Jane Austen; my favorite book of hers is "Persuasion." I also like Edith Wharton's "The Age of Innocence."
One of my favorite books of all time is not quite a classic, but since it wound up in the top 10 best novels of all time, I'll mention it here: "Snow Crash" by Neal Stephenson.

I had to read "The Great Gatsby" for my junior english class (I'm a freshman in college now). I didn't think I would like it, but I LOVED it!

Does 1984 count? It should, it is my favorite book and has been since I first read when I was 17. Funny enough, I haven't read all the way through since that first read.

1984 is one of my favourites as well though sun tzu's art of war or machiavellis the prince just edges it out. i just loved the idea of constant surveillance (Big brother) and double speak it was just an awesome read

I haven't read those others, but I know they are classics. Yeah, it was a great read. Unfortunately it also became synonymous with the term, Orwellian (but 1984 doesn't completely encapsulate Orwell). That term has been over-used to death. But that's another story for another time lol

Pride and Prejudice. Not only is it my favorite classic novel, it's my favorite novel and has been since I first read it, almost a decade ago.

1984 is a tremendous book. He really thought out a lot of things, too.
Do these count as classics, too?
The Outsiders
Fahrenheit 451
They aren't that old, but, they have gone down as classics in history.
