Gardenias. The type of flower on the cigarette case. It's said a couple more times in the show. It's Smallville's "rosebud." :p

Honestly, I didn't catch it either. I had to rewind twice and turn the volume up. That may have been the first time the word was said in the episode - I can't remember now. But ultimately it was Jimmy's subconcious pointing him to the cigarette case that it became so prevalent in the episode.
