Sylar has some sort of respect for Mohinder, why is this?

This is the one plot aspect in Heroes that I don't understand. In the future, Sylar always has Mohinder right by his side, his most trusted ally, then in the preview for the next episode he calls him because he wants help in not exploding. It's pretty obvious to me that Sylar has a lot of respect for Mohinder, but why? I don't see any reason for Sylar to respect him or to trust him. It completely boggles my mind.

Sylar was scared of someone becoming more powerful than him. To ensure that didn't happen he needed a formula to stop people's abilities. Mohinder is the most knowledgeable person when it comes to this subject so he decided to use him. Had Mohinder been able to come up with a formula I'm sure Sylar would of killed him the second he knew it worked.

I disagree. I don't think Sylar wants to kill Mohinder at all. If Mohinder became a threat, he would but he doesn't see him as such. I think Sylar wants to be Mohinder's friend in some weird way.

Have you seen the 2 minute preview clip for next weeks episode and 1.20? Sylar *as Nathan* kept Mohinder as his top adviser and he calls him for help when he thinks he's going to blow up new york in the preview clip. *Slyar drew himself as the bomb*

Maybe he does have some respect for Mohinder. They both "see how things work"; Sylar as an innate ability and Mohinder by studying something for a long time.

Well ultimately if Sylar is to remain on the cast of heroes he'll eventually have to stop being so damn evil and killing everyone. So if they really love the actor that much then mabye a storyline with Mohinder will turn him around.

Mohinder is the only one who can find him others for him to "sink his teeth in...". It's respect he has its necessity, after he became president, he was needed to create a formula to rid the rest of them.

Actually he only has a list of those who gave blood and agreed to have theirs be involved in the Genome Project! Which is a hole in itself as Claire is not old enough to give blood yet.

This is true that he only WANTS to kill the powered ones, but he would gladly kill normal people who are in his way or to meet his own ends.
