Of course, Lana is no Betty Bacall (or Mary Astor), nor is Jimmy Humphrey Bogart. Still, this stuff had me smile...

Naturally, the film "The Big Sleep" on screen.

The cigarette case is gardenia....gardenia was the scent of Joel Cairo's hankerchief in "The Maltese Falcon."

The reference Chloe made of the bar as "gin joint." Casablanca ("...of all the gin joints in all the towns..."

Lana wanting some of the courage and strength of Jimmy. "The Maltese Falcon" where Bridget O'Shaunnessy feigns emotions to Bogie ("surely you can spare me some of that strength...")

The "Daily Planet Building" sign was identical to that used in the George Reeves TV Superman.

What a kick, I loved it :)

Any other obvious noir references, y'all??

Hmm. I'm posting so late, you may never read this, but...

When Jimmy said, "Right back at you, sweetheart," listen to the way he says "sweetheart". He's imitating Humphrey Bogart ("The Maltese Falcon"; "The Big Sleep")

When Lex says "Gardenia" as he is dying, it's a reference to Charles Kane's last word "Rosebud" in Citizen Kane.

Lana's line "I'd like to report a murder ... mine" is taken directly from D.O.A. (1949)

Chloe's character appears to be based on the Jean Arthur character in Mr. Smith Goes To Washington (1939).

The scene between Clark and Lana (with Clark in his undershirt) looks a lot like a similar scene between Lana Turner and John Garfeild in The Postman Always Rings Twice (1946)

And doesn't Chloe say something to Jimmy about him going all "Sam Spade"?
