No kiss...maybe for a reason?

So...was I the only one expecting a Chlark kiss in this episode?? I'm almost 100% sure there isn't going to be a kiss this season! Which at first...made me pretty upset...but maybe the writers are doing it for a reason?? I mean, there have been tons of Clana kisses, and quite a few Clois. So maybe the writers are planning on making Chlark happen soon, so they figure we can wait a bit longer??? ;) Maybe??? haha. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong aread. But the main point is about this episode...and how there was no kiss!

Yeah, maybe we didn't get our annual kiss in Noir because there's going to be a real kiss. Jimmy's gone, and we've seen before that long distance relationships don't work on Smallville. Lana might die, or fake her death because KK is sick of Smallville. Lois is only in 13 episodes next season, and they're not allowed to have Clois on Smallville. I really need to stop being optimistic; it usually just leaves me disappointed.

When Clark caught Chloe after she fell, it just reminded me so much of Rush when she said "If I fall, will you catch me?". I know it led to a Chimmy moment, but I couldn't help feeling there was at least some Chlark there. I know I know, I'm delusional :p .

Sorry to be such a downer. But hey, the silent "thank-you" was a very Chlarky moment. It shows how great the relationship is between Clark and Chloe. They have something no one else on the show have. Clana doesn't even come close!!!

I will always be a Chlarker even if it never happens the way we hope. They love each other and are totally devoted to each other. They want each other to be happy. That's about as selfless and mature a love as it gets.

I thought there was a chance for one as well before I saw the episode because they had some odd shipping going on from what I saw in the spoilers (lex/lois, kind of jimmy/lana). But once the episode started I was like, yeah probably not. I thought maybe they'd slip the annual kiss into a happy go lucky episode that isn't going to go anywhere but they didn't. So its either going to be real (crosses fingers) or not at all :( After the catching Chloe scene I screamed :D! It was so cute

Chloe will always love and protect Clark but I think she has realized it will never happen. The kiss in last year's finale was totally appropriate. It was the end of the world and she just had to.

Come on guys, wouldn't you miss the tension and the anticipation and hope if they actually did get together? Of course I've enjoyed the Chlark kisses every season, what good Chlarker hasn't - but I don't want them to lose their friendship just for a relationship. If they wanted to get away with sort of a "default" Chlark kiss, this would've been the episode. Everyone was kissing everyone else and affairs were running rampant. I think they are aware of the Chlark kisses. They give us just enough to make us come back for more! haha. But...thats what makes me think having no kiss (for the first time in 6 years) is a deliberate sign. They know there will be plenty of Chlark kisses soon...so they are going to give Clana and Clois fans what they want. haha. I'm sure of it....I hope! :) I really do think there is a reason, they know Chlark fans will be pretty upset if there is no kiss....or anything implying at a future. I wish if they are intending on keeping Chlark strictly friendly they would stop with the teasing! I can definitely accept a Chlark friendship...if there wasn't this constant sexual tension between them! As for the scene when Chloe kisses Jimmy after Clark catches her..it's obvious she did that to make him stop asking questions. I thought Clark looked sad bad in the shadows....then she said thank you and he managed a smile. It was obvious he wasnt happy that he once again saved her life...and Jimmy gets the kiss! haha. Then the kiss at the end of the episode, while it was extremely cute!! haha, It looked more like a good bye kiss to me. The way he was taking her picture to remember. It didnt seem like a promise of a future kiss...just a perfect kiss to remember her by. ;)

I know that. I was only counting episodes with major Chlark/Clana hinting to show that Chlark wasn't used and overdone, as Clana has been. Lately most Chlark episodes have only been friendship moments though, unfortunately...

Tell the truth, I thought the episode was steeped in Chlark chemistry. I think the only reason we didn't see a smoochie after that -romantic- banter after Chloe's fall was Jimmy's shout and imminenient arrival.

Your opinion,not mine nor millions of other Clana shippers.Maybe you should realize that Clark and Lana are meant to be in Smallville and not Clark and Chloe.Smallville IS the lovestory of the Clana not Chlark.And I'm glad the writers are not going to belittle it with giving Clark some kind of rebound romance with Chloe for the sake of some shippers.That'd suck not only for Clark but also for Chloe IMO.

Keep up the Chlark hope, guys! You can look at Chloe and Jimmy's kiss right after the save in two ways:

a) as people have already said, Chloe wanted to distract Jimmy from discovering that Clark had saved her, so she kissed him immediately to keep his attention
and b) Chloe was thinking of Clark all through the kiss! But since he wasn't the one right in front of her, she had to kiss Jimmy. The fact that she managed to catch Clark's eye and mouth thank you says it all: her mind wasn't totally on Jimmy at all!

That was quite a cute moment for me. I look at the kiss in both ways. That save was really nice. "Where's the fun in that?" - classic and dare-I-say-it flirty. Keep up the hope, Chlarkers.

Season 5 was setting it up so perfectly, and with Clana over for a while it wouldn't have come off as rebound or rushed. But since Labyrinth reintroduced the Clark who is obsessed with Lana, I lost hope in there being any decent Chlark this year. If they did kiss in the finale this year, it wouldn't work because we know he's still hung up on Lana the most, and Chloe knows it too

It's too bad they didn't even bother to give us the same type of possessed/fake kisses that Clois and Clana get twice this year though :mad:

I agree. If the one kiss we get is of Goth Chloe & Bizarro Clark, it won't even count as a 'Chlark' moment. If its Bizarro Clark & Our Chloe, I can see the writers doing some horrible 'knowledge' manipulation. Chloe thinks real Clark kisses her, he has no clue why she is suddenly sending signals.

Right now Clark is deeeeeep in Lana land; Crimson didn't feel very Clois-y to me because the timing was wrong; I much prefered their lil moment in Hydro. :)

I agree; it was Chloe pining and Clark's obsession with Lana for way too long. It should definitely be mutual this time around and not Clark "settling" for Chloe. It should make their friendship even stronger with no angsty Clana "thecreth and lieth", because let's face it, TPTB completely destroyed any good aspect of that relationship. If Chlark did break up (I really hope they wouldn't), they should still remain as good of friends as they are now.

I once posted I thought the way to do Chlark was basically not to show any overt romance at all. They already have the friendship. They only need to suggest that the relationship has moved to the next stage. Clark and Lana had these loft scenes at episode's end to further their relationship (albeit, an angsty one). They could do the same with Clark and Chloe. Instead of discussing their feelings for each other, they could discuss what had transpired during the episode and what was looming ahead. The scene would close with...well, I'll leave that to your imagination. And, so would the PTB. :p

Yeah, I could definitely see Chlark friendship surviving romance since they already dealt with the ugly fallout in S2 and slowly rebuilt their relationship to something stronger than they ever had before. :) I still hold out hope for Clana friendship though; that last scene btwn them in "Freak" was such a tease of good-natured companionship. Superman will need all of his Secretkeepers supporting him before he can move onto bigger things, IMO.

It's obviously not impossible when we have such a deviously creative producing duo :lol: but it's irrelvant IMO. Any cop-out kiss btwn Chlark would do nothing to further their story what-so-ever. We already know that they are attracted to each other on a certain level and we already know that they care about eachother alot etc so the only thing standing in their way is a true blue mutual romantic kiss. Using a copout IMHO defuses the tension rather than builds it, in this scenario. Which is why I used the example of "Hydro" for Clois; as a Cloiser, there was no romantic hints for 2 and 1/2 darned seasons and so when it came, trickle as it was, I thought it came off more powerful than the Crimson fest. :)

LOL, you're right, it wouldn't take much to reach the next level. BUT once again, coming from someone who is not a Chlarker, I think they would need to define their status as being equally non-romantic (as TPTB have started with Chimmy) so that they can be equally in love when/if that happens.

Ever since Crimson, I felt the romantic Chlark was completely shot down. I think Clark realized that someone as great as Chloe shouldn't feel like she was his back-up, not to mention that he seemed to feel more for Lois.

Personally I think the whole annual kiss is over. As Clois isn't too far away. And Chloe has completely accepted the fact that Clark's feeling for her are strong but not romantic. Also if there was to be a Chlark kiss, it would have happened in Crimson and it didn't.

It all looked so promising this season with Clark jealous of Chloe/Jimmy ( i hate them together!!) - then everything went to hell - after the break-up in Crimson & insta back together.

I've stopped watching & download clips of Chloe. CW/TPTB are idiots.
