View Full Version : So I guess Lana doesn't know about kryptonite?

In the scene with Chloe in the hospital, it seems that Lana doesn't know what Clark's weakness is. I was wondering about that...I think she has all the pieces of the puzzle, but I'm kind of glad that they're going to show us everything, instead of having her figure it out in Offscreensville.

I say it would be a slap in the face to all the viewers if they did that. we tune in every week to see how much closer she is (among other reasons, like gettin our Chlark on) I personally would feel betrayed if we weren't there when the AHA moment happens

Nope - she doesn't know and I almost thought Chloe was going to spill the beans tonight.

And it also seems that Chloe is getting the idea that Lois knows Clark's big secret. The last two episodes Lana has dropped two big hints to Chloe about this.

She's seen everything Clark can do and everything other Kryptonians can do. Why hasn't she connected the dots? How many other people can shoot lazers from their eyes? I mean really.

She knows kryptonite was the Kryptonian's weakness.

How is Lana this dumb?

It not clicking for me but when would she have seen Clark's heat vision? I know she's seen his super strength and super speed. I think she believes he's a meteor freak, not an alien, at this point in time, but she probably is mulling over the idea that he's an alien.

Unfortunately we've not yet seen her talk about this with anyone, to get whether or not she understands what he is.

She saw Clark's heat vision in Promise, when he soldered the door back on the wine cellar. She definitely saw that, because they showed it from her point of view. Chloe also used the word Kryptonite when she was talking to Clark, and she mentioned that he was bullet-proof, fire-proof, and Lana clearly saw how strong and fast he was. Lana has seen Kryptonians use heat vision and superspeed...first in Arrival and again in Zod. I feel like she should have recognized the abilities. But I guess I don't mind since that means we'll get to see her reaction when she finds out he's really an alien.

She's galactically dumb.

You would think she would ask Lionel a few questions in return for her spying...

And Chloe said it outloud when Clark saved her in Promise and Lana was watching:

"I know you would rather be tied to a bolder of kryponite than come down here"

Duh Lana

Back in season 5, Lana knew that green meteor rock hurt Kryptonians. Clark does everything Kryptonians do.

I guess all those concussions are catching up with her.

Maybe deep down she knows, but she's afraid to admit it to herself or anyone else for that matter.

She doesn't think Clark is one of the kryptonians because he's not bad like them.

That could be.

I was about to say it's surprising how clever she can be in some eps and how dense in others, but it's really not considering everything else.

Oh yeah that's right he used his heat vision on the vault door. Forgot about that. :)

But Lana doesn't know that Meteor Rocks and Kryptonite are the same.

There is also the tidbit that she found her formerly meteor-rock-green necklace in Clarks stuff when she was snooping around the loft. She has to wonder why Clark has it, hasn't returned it to her, and why it is now clear.

She's the pretty pink princess?

Honestly, I thought it was odd that after Chloe's emphasis in 'Nemesis' a specific thing is his weakness- that Lana just drops it. Chloe knows that Lana knows -something- and Chloe saw how Lana was willing to risk Lex's life down there.

'Clark has a weakness, so I had to protect him'.

Yeah, a raging inferno would be a weakness of mine, but please don't marry the nemesis of the world because Big Daddy lit a cigerrette.

Good thing Lana hasn't figured out Clark's secret or every time Lana sees Chloe & Clark she might pop him into a green tunnel.

I think you've got it all wrong, Lana does know that Clark is from another planet called Krypton, and knows about most of his abilites except for the ones that are difficult to see from the outside (like super-hearing). She just doesn't want Chloe to know how much she has found out because Chloe is bound to tell Clark that Lana knows.

I think she has connected the dots but how can the boy she has loved all this time be a frickin alien!

Excellent point. We, as audience members, know that the Kryptonians she met were a particularly bad bunch but she probably just assumes that they're all evil. When you look at it that way, it's easy to see why see hasn't put two and two together.

And I really don't think TPTB would let Lana figure it out in Offscreenville, that would be throwing away some perfectly good drama.

Why does everyone want to kill Lex? I'm going with the fake baby, trapped in a mariage thing.

That's a good point. Besides, she's known him her whole life. I guess it would make sense that she wouldn't think he was from another planet.

I think you guys are missing something. She knows he's alien, but that doesn't mean she thinks he's the same as the 2 from Arrival. She probably thinks there more than one kind of alien, which there is, which is why she hasn't tied his weakness to their weakness.

She doesn't know he is an alien, she knows he has abilities (she learned in Promise), but she doesn't know where they come from, she thought he was a meteor-freak, but that fell flat (in Freak). So she doesn't know what he is, just that he is (as Chloe puts it) an "Army of One".....
