aaron did the best job tonight.

Definitely Allison. She was the only one who performed like a 40s actor would. Tom and Michael phoned it in I thought.

Kristin. I liked Tom & Aaron too, but she was just incredible. She really pulled off a noir type character. I was convinced of her role.
I thought Allison was good at the beginning but later she stopped being convincing.

I cannot decide between Aaron and Tom. I was very impressed.

AARON totally did a great job tonite! Basically the whole episode revolve around him...so you didn't see much acting from the rest of the cast....of course Tom look the yummiest!!:D :D :D

I appreciated all the 1940s gangster talk and accents. Pretty sweet.
Clark made the biggest transformation in for his part though.

Alli for me... SHE was awsome.... The 40 style suit her perfectly !

Her voice wasn't "silky" enough to be a torch singer.
Think Jessica Rabbit

You know, I panned the acting at first but they all did a good job. The 40's stuff was tough for me to swallow and they didn't do that part very well - Allison probably the best of all of them in that part.
Overall, I gave the best performance to Erica. She absolutely ROCKED in her reporter role and she was the absolute bomb tonight in my opinion, getting evidence and then throwing her newfound knowledge in Lionel's face and not even flinching at his threat.

Yeah, I think so...
It's been established in numerous interviews that she's a trained singer... and it sound awfully LOT like her... well, I think so... :p

Allison definitely. Her manner of speaking was dead on. Aaron was a pretty close second though.

i'm so torn..so torn..because everyone put on a good job....
lets see:
Ally did well...her voice, inflection etc..was excellent...especially in the opening black and white scene with jimmy...very 40's
Aaron....good all around..he made me smile alot this epi
Tom: has the double identity thing down
Lana..heck, she plays the black widow well
Erica..even though her part was small, it was well done too...
how could i forget Lex and Lionel:...just ok for me...
kudos to a very talented cast..but i must give it to Jimmy in this epi

Allison.
I voted Allison because she did best in both the present and the dream, but I thought Aaron did the best in the dream
I was sort of disappointed with the others and especially their voices/accent. Aaron seemed to enjoy it the most and played with it.
But Allison was great in the goodbye scene with Jimmy and when she thanked Clark over Jimmy's shoulder. Considering she usually has a lot a dialogue in which to express her feelings, these scenes were rare Chloe speechless moments-and allison did great conveying her feelings without words

Tommy gets my vote. Loved how he portrayed the different Clark Kents throughout the episode.

Aaron and Allison did very well. Both did the 40s shtick well especially with their accents.
You guys think Erica can sing? Uh,... Try listening to Ella or Sarah or even latter day singers like Dianne Reeves. That's what I call singing.

Yeah, she can... I expected anti-EDlois didn't think so... So I don't really care...

I think Allison and Aaron had the best performances in the dream sequence and really pulled off the 40's style. John Glover was also pretty good, even though he had a small part in it.

I think Aaron's performace was very good, I also loved Allison's performace was very good as well. They did very well in this episode.

Everyone did really well in one scene or another.
Erica did the best modern Lois for a while
Kristen was hammy & schmaltzy, melodramatic but with the right light I could see some of that old time starlet glamour
Allison, I didn't believe her 40's character, but she was good in the present, in spite of Jimmy
everyone else phoned it in
But Tom did the best this time, wussy clark and Macho Clark totally sold this episode for me

Honestly I didn't think anyone did very good as a "noir" character. They were all very cheesey. I know noir films sometimes have cheesey acting, but I thought tonight was just bad. Everyone was overacting the HELL out of those scenes.
I chose Tom for his Clark Kent acting abilities. He did great.

Clark's daily reporter scene was actually the best for me, now that I think about it. Very believable and genuine.

I was torn between Aaron and Tom, but I gave the nudge to Tom only because he had to play 3 distinctive personas, regular Clark, bumbling 40's Clark Kent, and suave undercover cop 40's Clark. So, he gets the nod.
But I honestly thought the whole cast was great.

I had to pick Tom for all the roles that he played. But as been said the whole cast did an outstanding job, great performance's from all of them.
When will the PTB put glasses on Clark I think that it should of happened a long time ago.
Jack
I voted for Aaron. He was really good, especially at the beginning of the show, when he was watching the movie with Chloe, and lipping the lines.
Love Kristin, she play the femme fatale, quite well.
I have to give props to Tom for his mannerisms, he looked so good, but sometimes when he spoke his lines, I think he lost the 40's vibe.
The rest of the cast was amazing as well.

I gave my vote to Aaron because I thought he really captured the noir leading man style. Close second to Alison for her rapid-fire delivery.

Jimmie Olsen did the best job IMO. I even thought that Chloe and him should stay together after watching it. I like Chloe's friendship with Clark like this

I voted Allison hands down because she owned the look, the voice (her '40s inflections were wonderful), and facial expressions.
She is by far the best actress on the show and it was nice to see her able to do something different and really shine.
A close second would be TW because he NAILED BumblingClark and the scene with Clark and Jimmy sitting at the Talon bar made him shine.
AA would be my third pick because he really embraced Jimmy's love for classic film and showed him implimenting what he knew when he woke up in the '40s. He handled comedy and a little slice of drama really well.
JG was awesome in the dream sequence, but I didn't feel like he had a lot to do.
KK played the femme fatale pretty well, so I was glad to see her get to do something slightly different, even though, Lana is a femme fatale in her own right :)
Everyone did a great job, I thought, but AM was just the one who shined (shone?) the brightest.

I said Tom, only because he had more characters to play. He had to be regular Clark, Noir dorky Clark, and Noir suave Clark. And he sold all of them.

Allison seemed to forget after her first scene in the Daily Planet that she was using a different voice. Her later scenes just sounded like regular ol' Chloe.
I voted for Tom, because he had 3 different characters to play. His usual self, bumbling Clark and the Suave Heroic Crime Fighter.

It actually sounded like Erica singing. Even if it was not, I thought the parts with her were amazing. The clever sneaking the evidence trick was played well. I loved her dialogue with John too. This episode was pretty interesting.

Allison, Tom, John and Aaron really stood out to me. They really seemed '40ish to me.

They all did pretty good ....more so in certain scenes than in others. I didn't find anyone to be a stand-out performance-wise. Now in "Look"...WoW they all looked AMAZING during the flashback segment. Props to the hair, make-up, and costume department.

I had to vote for Glover.
Once again JG sets the bar for great acting on Smallville. He elevated every scene he was in (NO pun intended) and was just perfect in the 40s scenes.

Honestly I thought the acting was ok, but not great, a little too stereotypical. I had to laugh when Glover said "whiskey rocks, put it on his tab...names Kent." I thought Allison started good in the office as did Tom. Her "i'll tell ya the best" was a good line. Tom's dorky Kent was good, I thought he had the mannerisms of confident Kent but not the voice, it seemed like he was forcing the Bar scene, not 40ish at all to me. Aaron I thought was the best, maybe just because of his New York accent. Kristin and Michael didn't do it for me. In fact, I thought Michael wasn't really good at all, unusual for him. He looked...bored. MB was ok, his cliche lines were funny. My mom is a big black and White film fan so I grew up with it. Its def an acquired taste, I just thought the writers and cast made an attempt but fell short. But hey you can't blame them, Jimmy stewart or Cary Grant are not easy shoes to fill.
