What more can I say, I am seriously disappointed. This dream sequence is far, far to long.

blah blah blah

I like it

They have the whole episode and if they wanted to rush through the dream sequence everyone would be crying it was too short

Thank God there was some real story in this episode. Though, I wonder why Lionel would watch the video in front of Lois.

You guys have no sense for syling at all, lol. There was some good old fashioned filmmaking there, not to mention the retro Daily Planet look, bumbling Clark...this is a great addition to the season!

Boring? I think not. I really got a kick out of the classical old school film shots and cliches that they used. And even if you didn't enjoy that, you should have picked up on some foreshadowing for later in the episode.

I really thought I would be disappointed because i was like why in the world are tptb playing around when there are only a few eps left. But this ep wasn't boring. It was different...and the whole ode to the 40's wasn't the whole ep. They were able to to still move the story foward in the end.
so my vote-not boring.

Not boring at all. I appreciated their use of the 40s movie style.

Not boring. I would say most confusing episode. The stuff after the dream was way too rushed. I have no clue about how this senator guy got involved. I didn't catch the reporter's name who Lana went to, and missed many other stuff.

My biggest gripe was the spot of the season this episode was placed in. Had they nixed Wither or Static and placed this episode then, I thought it would have been great. There was too much stuff to tell and it was just rushed too much. They should have dedicated the episode to scenes between Lex & the senator, to how Lionel is involved in all of it, and more of what Lana is doing. And Clark should have started getting leads on the last phantom. I still can't connect the phantom part of the plot to Lex's soldier.

Well....Im about to throw up from the Chimmy (okay okay it was cute)...but I really did actually think this was a decent episode. I wish there was more Clark in the dream sequence tho!

The Clark saving Chloe part.....that was hot!

But Chimmy...GARRRR! :rotfl:

I just gotta say there had best be one heck of a payoff on the remaining episodes to get a lot of people to come back for a next season.

I mean something in steller proportions.

I totally agree. I really enjoyed tonights episode...I thought it was a lot of fun. I loved the shout out to the old Daily Planet building with the plaque outside the building....loved seeing Clark with those old glasses....
I guess I just enjoyed it for what it was. I can understand where some of you are coming from. But I really liked it.

I didn't find it boring at all. I actually really enjoyed it. I thought the whole film noir dream sequence was entertaining and I thought all the actors really stepped it up tonight. To each his own I guess.

Yeah, this show needs to be kept simple and dumbed-down, no need for anything unique or different, just keep it more of the failing same ol'/same ol.

Maybe not.

This episode licked.

They tried the same crap on Lois & Clark and that one licked as well.

It wasn't a great episode, but I think that all the episodes since Promise have been pretty weak. The last two episodes better be good!

I was surprised with this episode because I had very low expectations. They did a great job of developing all of the main characters and were really creative in the way this ep was directed. The only thing I would have liked is that it aired in the middle of the season, since there are only 2 episodes left now. I liked it.

It was a really weird episode especially the ending with the shot of Jimmy kissing Chloe picture shot and the music on the ipod. The Lana and Jimmy scenes were hilarious, i couldn't take those scenes seriously and they were not believable.

Good aspects of it were the Chloe holding back from Clark and Lex and the Senator talking about some Ares project.

This episode is basically an introduction lead in to the next episode, 'Prototype'.

It was entertaining yet it didn't seem to fit the main storyline in a perfect sense like nemesis did. It was definitly a different approach but creatively successful as a stand alone episode.

WOW !
They really restarted the show with a boom

people who wrote that episode should be shot

I enjoy most of the episode but this one was terrible

and Jimmy sucks, why give him a whole episode

I loved this show. I don't look ahead for spoilers or anything, never saw the title of the episode before watching, not even seen a commercial, so I was _floored_ by the transition to black and white.

Floored. :D

That said, it took me _no time_ to get into the new look and direction of the episode, and I "lol'd" several times such as with everyone's appearance and attitude, Clark's glasses in the show, the classic car chase and the Hitchcockian fall from the stairs ala Vertigo (which ironically has gotten panned by people who apparently don't get the reference).

Also Aaron's role as Jimmy was amazing. Last episode they focused on Lana (and to some extent Clark and Lex) and this time it's Jimmy. Nice to see more cast members get new and different roles than they typically get pidgeonholed in. :)

If you like old film noir, then this is the episode for you. This episode seems more like a pet project for the tv makers (director, cinematographer, editor, actors, etc).

Otherwise, its utter crap.

I totally agree. With eppies like this you'll need to put a "gone fishing" sign on your avatar. Thank gawd there are two episodes to try to build some momentum for next season, this one could have stopped an avalanche.:(
