Someone please!!!! I was out so I set 2 tapes on 2 different tv's and neither one recorded! I am so disapointed. Please someone give me a summery!

Jimmy led Chloe to a room in the DP covering her eyes for a surprise he had. It was a film projector showing the movie The Big Sleep (starring Bogart). As they watched it, they heard a gunshot that they knew wasn't part of the movie. They looked around and guess what...Lana was down and out in the elevator. The door was opening & closing on her ankle. Jimmy chased after the guy and snapped shots using his camera phone as the guy fled.

Then the opening credits started

After that, the episode came back with a bunch of cops and people at the crime scene. Clark was there asking if anyone got a good look at the shooter. He blamed himself again. Lionel came by the stretcher carrying Lana and whispered that he would find out who did it to her and get them. Jimmy took a photo of this. Lois showed up and tried to get access to the crime scene. She purposely dropped her handbag and stuffed the things back inside and also snuck in a cigarette lighter that was evidence. Chloe barked orders to Jimmy to download the photo he snapped of the shooter's backside. When he went back to his desk, Jimmy got knocked out and the dream started.

In the dream, Jimmy was a reporter who just started working at the DP. He saw Chloe, who made a bunch of snide remarks to him. Then Clark with glasses was walking clumsily and spilled something on Chloe. He started brushing the liquid off her chest in what was a very funny scene. The next scene IIRC was Lana calling Jimmy about someone wanting to kill her. I have to go back and watch the rest again. But there was a club scene where Clark & Jimmy met at a club owned by Lionel. Lex was there and Clark & Jimmy spoke. Lionel told Jimmy that when Lex usually leaves, his car goes off but he's never inside. Lois was singing inside the club and Jimmy was looking on with lust. Clark said he would have to get in line. Jimmy went outside and saw Lex & Lois kissing, hearing how Lex would have to get rid of Lana. He assumed he was going to have Lana whacked. So he blackmailed him with a photo and then ran away, with Lex chasing after him. Jimmy just crosses the train tracks before the train comes and Lex has to pull back, causing his car to flip over, but he's alive and well. Jimmy meets Lana at the mansion.

At the mansion Lana talks to Jimmy & gives him a gun. He then goes someplace and meets Lex. Lex tells him he's getting rid of Lana by divorcing her. But Jimmy doesn't buy it and kills Lex. He then runs away since he committed murder. Chloe looks for him after hearing of the murder and finds him at the bar. Jimmy eventually leaves and the scene switches to Lana & Clark. They are kissing and Lana eventually leaves to meet Jimmy. IIRC Jimmy shows up and is freaking out because Lana tricked him to murder Lex. She then shoots him and is then shot herself. It's revealed that Clark shot her and she's dead. It's revealed that the bullet Lana fired didn't penetrate Jimmy but instead hit a metal instrument on him (cigarette lighter, I think). Clark tells Jimmy that his mistake was getting involved with a girl while on the job. Jimmy wonder what he meant & Clark reveals himself to have been acting as a reporter while being an undercover cop. He takes Jimmy away as he arrests him. Jimmy wakes up to real life with Chloe rushing in to check on him. He has had an epiphany and sees the cigarette lighter in a photo he took. He goes back to the crime scene in the basement, and sees that the lighter is gone. Chloe & Jimmy take the elevator to the last spot it was on according to its memory. They go to a reporter's office and accuse him of shooting Lana. While he's explaining himself, the real shooter shoots through the window of his office door and kills him. Jimmy chases after him and Chloe calls Clark. She joins Jimmy and is knocked off the staircase and plummets several stories. Clark shows up & catches her. Jimmy KO's the shooter.

The scene changes to the Talon apartment. As Lois enters, Lionel and a guy he has with him are waiting for her. They exchange words and Lionel's guy dumps her handbag. Lionel finds the cigarette lighter he's looking for and plugs it into the laptop on the desk. He watches a video of Lex talking to a senator about the Ares project. Lois tells Lionel how Lana doublecrossed 2 Luthors in 1 night. Apparently she's thrilled that she found out what was going on between the senator and Lex before Lionel did (though this may not actually be the case).

Chloe visits Lana in the hospital. Lana spills her guts on what's happening. She tells Chloe that she went to the reporter (who got killed) to get out of the situation she's in with Lionel & Lex. She tells Chloe that Lionel needed an insider and for that reason forced her to marry Lex. She says how she did it for Clark. I was confused, but I think she even admits that the guy who shot her was working for Lionel.

In the next scene, Chloe sees Clark in the DP. Clark is annoyed at how easily Chloe drops the search for the real story behind the events. Clark can sense that Lana got married to protect him. That's everything that I remember now.

I am really sorry , I was not able to type out a summary live. Because I played 9 holes of golf, called my kids, then went to a coaches clinic.

Basic summary from DVR memory.
Scene: daily planet - Jimmy surprises Chloe with pop corn and 2 diet pepsi's to watch a movie, the Big Sleep, and Jimmy knows every word of the movie by heart.
Lana is shot at the daily planet , and chloe and jimmy know the shot is not from the movie but a real shot
Lana is shot in the elevator.
jimmy thinks fast and uses his cell to take a picture of the shoter.
Chloe calls clark, tells jimmy to download the pic.
while jimmy is downloading , he is knocked out.
when he wakes up its may 3 1940.
daily planet.
chloe is reporter, clark is classic clark kent.
stubbling bumbling with glasses.
Clark actually protrays the classic clark extremely well with glasses.
jimmy gets a call from lana luthor regarding lex is cheating on her.
jimmy goes to a bar owned by lionel luthor.
clark is there looking super suave.
lois is the lounge singer singing a really good song about , I need somebody else, somebody who loves me.
lex is there and tells lionel what is wrong old man you used to run this town.
lionel gives jimmy a "free tip" that lex leaves every night but does not get in the right car.
jimmy kills lex thinking to help lana.
lana sets up jimmy.
clark is a cop with a super shaped sized badge.
jimmy in 1940 gets busted for lex's murder by cop crime fighting clark.
jimmy wakes up in 2007.
jimmy basically puts everything together about lana's shooting.
lana in hospital lays everything to chloe.
lana tells chloe lionel threaten clark's weakness to lana in order to marry lex.
clark gets mad trying to get info from chloe.
chloe inadvertintly admits that someone other than lex forced lana to marry lex.
jimmy is put on assignment in green bay for pictures.
jimmy makes an ipod mix tape with the song , that lois sang.
"I need somebody else , somebody who loves me"
Jimmy gives chloe a big kiss. and the episode ends.

That is my summary from memory.
