It looks very disappointing to a comics fan like me according to the trailers. They clearly missed the boat with the black costume and really messed up with the traditional mythos. From what I've seen, it seems like it makes him act in a way like Clark on red-k, which is totally false. The only thing the black costume (alien symbiote) is supposed to do to him is drain his energy as that is how it gets its energy. In the comics, it covered his body while he slept and went on nightly strolls, webswinging through the night. This is why he woke up so tired everyday and why he missed appointments and was late to work/grad school in the comics. Another reason he got tired was because the webbing was organic (as Puma pointed out in the issue of his 1st appearance) and the costume made the web from the energy it drained from Spider-man.

Also, the suit in the comics was much better. The one in the movie looks like a black version of the red & blue suit. The design of the spider on the black suit is much different and it has no web pattern on it.

They really messed up on that. I knew the origin wouldn't be anything like the comics (with the Secret Wars) but I expected the rest to follow the comics. The reason why Peter Parker is supposed to get rid of it was because it was about to permanently bond with his body. Even though Reed Richards & the Human Torch are the ones who helped him remove with fire & sound, the movie could have avoided this & still make Spider-Man get rid of it himself as he later did when he used a church bell to get it off him.

That's exactly why I cannot wait to watch the movie!! It's fricking awesome Red K Clark and Spider-man with black suit, HELL YEAHHHH Now that's sexy...;)
