i thought he was a good guy. how`d he go from working for mrs. petrelli to her son. and i thought he could only block mental powers but he can block physical ones 2. it seems he has 2 powers.

I think the hatian is a brain manipulater. he can stop the heroes from activating there special abilities. All it would take to stop both is to be able to control the brain wave in a person, and he would be able to prevent the powers from being activated. This als explains his ability to wipe memories.

Likely, Sylar kills Ma Petrelli soon after he kills and replaces Nathan. That way the hatian is now working for Sylar - thinking he's Nathan Petrelli.

In the Claire ep I know the hatian made it seem all he could do was erase memories but we know that he can in fact stop another persons powers from working all together. That's how Mr. Bennet caught Eve and turned her good. And that's how they were able to temp catch Sylar after Claire's homecoming dance AND its also why Matt was never able to read Bennetts thoughts with him around.
