I give it about a 7. Don't get me wrong I really liked it but it was a future time line not connected to the present. It was like a issue of What if from Marvel comics. I almost expected to get an introduction from the watcher. Everything that happened won't happen in the season finale so this was kind of a filler episode. It was cool to see Peter vs Sylar again even if it was behind a closed door. Next week's preview looks really good being as there back in the present timelime.

i enjoyed this episode it was great. evikl sylar strikes agian setting this whole thing up just to gain powers from people. i enjoyed the peter vs sylar fight. sylar blue peter orange like iceman and pyro in xmen. hiro turns semi bad because of his friend. that was nice that he would stick up for a friend like that even tho he was already dead. i want to know why when sylar turned back peter didnt just yell hey everyone look its sylar because i would think matt and his crew would have decided to turn on sylar. that must have been weird for hiro to see himself die. i cant wait for the next couple of episodes it looks great.

I kinda hated it. Just because I hated the way things happened.

I really enjoyed it. I gave it a 10. Yeah it was a What If scenario but it still showed parts of the heroes that we hadn't seen and showed us the potential in their powers.

It also showed us why it's so important that they stop the events from happening. Showed us that Peter did explode and that he couldn't stop it. Maybe it's a direct link to Sylar (fighting with Peter maybe over charged Peter and he explodes?) It showed us that Sylar has a clear vision of that future and is looking to make it happen - it also shows us consistency from last episode. If Sylar and the explosion aren't stopped then these things will come to pass.

I enjoyed this episode. I just wish they hadn't cut out the fight between Peter and Sylar - that was gearing up to be badass. But I understand that they don't want to show that yet - because the showdown will happen and they want it to be somethine we've never seen before.

Yes, there were some strong xmen hinted tie-ins but they didn't follow it to the T - they made their own road with it and did play homage to world events. I think they did well given everyone's watching them so closely to see if it crosses over to be something along the lines of xmen or not.

I also enjoyed how the episode was darker - a reflection of the times. The characters also grew too - they didn't just stay the same. Their personalities developed with the story as did their powers.

Overall - satisfied with this episode.

I can see where you get the filler thing since the premise is completely theoretical, but i also think the events of the episode serve a much greater purpose, connecting a lot of things weve seen happen on the show and getting Hiro ready for the next couple of episodes. It's also finished the gradual introduction of the concept that the future is NOT written yet and can be changed, which will obviously be an important theme over the next 3 episodes.

Overall, I gave it a 10 - I loved the dark tone of the episode, especially the changes each character went through, and all of the actors did a a good job of portraying that change. Although I was a little disappointed that Mohinder was "duped" yet again by Sylar, especially after reading Sendhil Ramamurthy's TV Guide interview (http://www.tvguide.com/News-Views/Interviews-Features/Article/default.aspx?posting={ED435B39-70EB-4489-AF02-A3280304EA18}) today.

I loved it, I was impressed with the effects, the total change in characters attitudes and even the looks changed.
Matt an a$$ with grey highlights

Peter's scar, the best Sylar ever!
So much to digest..

It closed the door on some questions, and opened some more.

I gave it a "9".

Well, technically it WAS the present for Hiro and Nakamura, since if they didn't teleport than none of the past would have been changed since Hiro wouldn't have gone back to separate Sylar from himself.

I gave it a 10! I think it's beautiful that the writers are giving the actors & actresses more dynamic characters to show off powers.

I thought The Episode was Terrific, I really did like The Scene when Hiro and Ando met Future Hiro, and he told them what happened, and My Favorite Scene in The Episode is when Peter and Sylar, are starting to fight, I can't wait to see who wins, and I also liked The Scene where Peter saved Future Hiro and Ando, that was a great Scene, I can't wait to see Next Week's Episode.

I jjust loved the d@mn thing! That was the best one yet. You got to see all kind of neat stuff. Hiro acknowledging that how powerful Peter is. Matt picking the wrong side. The death of so many characters (Jessica, Micah, Ando, Nathan, Candice, Claire, HRG, Future Hiro, Hana). The battle of Peter and Sylar. When Sylars hand went cold and Peters went fire, that was just classic. Usually the bad side gets the flames. Then all the lights through the door to show us how big the fight can be without actually showing us. Thats just good writing. Oh and anytime they have Ali Larter wraped around a pole will be an automatic 10!!!!

Great episode.I gave it a 10.Keep me on the edge of my seat.I love Peter,I even thought that he was sexy with his scar,he was so powerfull, nothing couldn't stop him.The fight with Sylar was great. What was wrong with Jessica,it's like she didn't to fight anymore. She sounds more like Nikki.Matt as a bad guy was very interesting.I loved the confrontation of the future Hiro & the past one.HRG was touching when he was trying to protect Claire.Dam Sylar,he got her at the end.I hope they can reverse it all and stop that creep.

I gave it a 10. What If? episodes rock and all it takes is a little imagination and not so darn much "but this isn't really happening!!*whine!!!*" mentality to enjoy them.

C mon, I liked this ep but compared to company man it was it little lacking in emotion. This was the first ep that I haven't given a 9 or 10, it was still good it definitely had some wow moments, but there was a little bit of paradoxes that will have to be explained. Maybe after the next few eps this one will make more sense.

I give it a 11 myself. Just when I thought this show couldn't get any better .....bam then this episode. All the characture had multiple personalities except Ando (which I love). I couldn't stop thinking about this episode all day yesterday. Everyone is so hardened. Poor Hiro I felt so sorry for him when Matt was beating him up. All he wants to be is a Hero. Very moving. Have I said how much I love this show. Thank God that there is a place where I can express my feelings. This last time I felt like this was my Come to Jesus talk. My friends won't watch the show except one and he's like 3 episode behind on his DVR. So thanks guys/girls for listening to me.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!

I thought it was a great episode, it had a few spots that could have been improved, I loved the twist when Parkman is now a bad guy, also when they showed Nathan turn into Sylar that was great. They should have let us see a few minutes of the fight between Peter and Sylar, it would be nice to see how they try to hurt each other now that Sylar had Clair's ability to heal.

I thought this episode was superb but I noticed something in the story that makes no sense whatsoever. Future Hiro tells Past Hiro that when he stabbed Sylar in the past he regenerated yet this is wrong on two levels.
1. Peter saves Claire in the past and so Sylar cannot have her power.
2. We see Sylar take Claires power towards the end of the episode. Yet we know Hiro stabs him before this point BEFORE he has the power to regenerate.

As Peter had already saved Claire by the time Hiro jumps forward into the future that would mean that the timeline would have been altered and the events of the episode bear this out. Claire is living in hiding in Texas after all and it is only towards the end that Sylar kills her.

Ah, but Hiro from the present jumped forward in time past the showdown with Sylar where he would have stabbed him. Meaning, he was no longer there to stab Sylar, thus had no reason to need to regenerate.

The plot hole here, however, is Peters scar.

Eckyboy
11-30-2007, 08:39 AM
that makes no sense pycer. Future Hiro says he stabbed Sylar in the past but that he regenerated. Meaning sylar had already KILLED Claire and took her power. Yet we see in the episode Claire is not killed until near the end meaning that Sylar could not have regenerated when Hiro stabbed him in the past. When Hiro goes into the future it must follow on from where he came from. Peter had already saved claire in the past before Hiro jumped forward. So even if Hiro skipped past the fight with sylar on his trip to the future the future Hiro would remember it.

Peter's scar is another interesting one though. How can he get a scar when he has the ability to heal?

It is hard to wrap your head around. Let me try again. Future Hiro (we'll call him FH to make it easier from here on out, and Present Hiro will be PH) traveled back in time to save the cheerleader. He was successful, when he returned to his time it was however, still largely unchanged. He himself was out of sync with the timeline therefore his memories were unchanged.

So, in his original timeline...Claire was killed by Sylar in texas, he stabbed Sylar in NY but did not kill him because he had Claires power. FH traveled back in time, made a change, but his memories didn't change as he was outside of time when it occurred.

Now, Peter saves the cheerleader preventing Sylar from getting her power which will allow him to stab Sylar in NY. However, before that happens, poof, he travels to the future. Therefore, PH was not present in NY during the showdown with Sylar, because he skipped over that point in time and landed in another. Therefore, even without Claires power, Sylar survives as no one stabs him, leaving the future largely unchanged.
