How is this war going to happen when Clark is ready to blame himself for how Lex turned out?

And the fact that Lex rescued him in the cave?

To me it looked like Clark wanted to give his friendship with Lex another try.

I know what you mean. But I think Clark will very soon see that they can never go back to the old days.

it is good writing to get us all pumped for a major war, and then have lex at the last second show he can save clark and clark falls for it.
question is . was lex being good , or did lex know , clark is super and you step on superman's cape, if you know what i mean.

I wonder if the way the "War" begins is by Lanna going to Clark and Lex turning all his projects and money into destroying Clark?

^^I doubt it. Lex's agenda will be against Superman, not Clark. They have to make sure they don't do that.

I actually do blame Clark for the way Lex turned out. If he didn't keep secrets from Lex from the beginning, Lex would have protected Clark. They would have been the same way Pete and Clark were. But with the secrecy Clark pushed Lex further and further away and with Lex's curiousity, its the reason why things are the way they are.

i think we need to let go of the notion that the writers will stick to the mythos...Lex will probably die in "Noir" lol

this was a good episode but Noir looks so dumb...didn't we have another "old" 50s episode already in an earlier season? I don't understand why they put a filler episode like Noir this late in the season, especially after such a good episode

i think the writers like to be shakespear. Every season there is a comedic relief episode, that way they can build up even more drama afterwards

^^Not this late in the game. This is like Ageless was in season 4 (though Noir will probably be better). Seasons 1-3 didn't have comedic episodes near the end. Neither did 5 (though it had Fragile too close to the end, which was a crap episode). If they would have replaced Wither or Static with this, then I would have no problem.

hmm i guess your right, i always remember Ageless and thought there was always this type of episode towards the end of the season

I don't think Clark was wanting to go back to being friends with Lex again that easily. I don't think he was thinking of running up to the mansion, giving Lex a big hug and saying "All if forgiven". But I do think he was questioning his own actions, and he couldn't help but be moved by the fact that he caught a glimpse of the person he once considered his best friend. I don't think its a bad thing for Clark to wonder if he could fix this somehow. Maybe figure out a way to turn Lex off the path he's on. Thats the way I saw it. Not Clark wanting to buddy around with Lex as he is now.

Clark was just feeling that way at that moment. Clark knows he and Lex will never be the way they were before. Those two are meant to be enemies and Clark is slowly realizing that.

Man, you said a mouthful there. Everyone forgets this point and I hope the writers don't forget it either. Clark is an annoyance to Lex in the future - Superman is his nemesis.

i kn0 i thought lex was leaving clark too!! but man you can never underestimate lex...i think he truely wants to be clarks friend but too much has happened and clark feelng sorry for the fact that all those years tryin to hide his secret has made clark think it make lex crazy when he should have confronted him!!! oh man this is the best season ever!

i know consistancy is not expected in Smallville, but "Nemisis" seemed like it just leap-frogged over "Progency", and Clark declaring war on Lex-- I mean Clark's burning question to Lex was what did he do to Lana to force her to marry him....

Shouldn't it have taken precedent that he ask Lex about threatening Chloe and the inhumane, illegal things he's doing with meteor freaks?? ----OK. maybe he used caution because he's afraid Lex may threaten Lana as a bargaining chip, and he was trying to find out how deep Lex's love for her, and hers for Lex really is so he knows what he's up against?

i guess i can understand his fear of jeaopardizing Lana by discussing the meteor-freak facility with Lex... :\

I agree. But I think that like all things Smallville, next week Clark will be back to blaming Lex for everything. I wish they would try again to be friends, but "realistically" I don' think that would work. Clark has ALWAYS been suspicious of Lex's motives, and I don't see that changing.

The Lex/Clark war will start again, based on something Lex will do (or Clark will find out about) in the next few episodes. Clark will instantly think "Lex bad" and start attacking. No doubt it'll have to do with Lana.
