That was indeed a great line and perfectly delivered by KK. What a double-meaning as well as the "if anyone lied to me like that, they'd lose my love forever" line. Did you see the expression on MR's face? Priceless - great acting tonight - great episode that I had assumed would be filler and kinda suck.

That was the best scene. Lana was serving him left and right and he didn't even know it. I wonder if she'll try to kill him soon. Every other wife he's had so far has tried too, it would be very interesting to see her planning his murder. Hell, I really couldn't blame her.

RPMSDB, in all fairness Clark's lies centered on being a superpowered being not on causing Lana to think she was pregnant and think that she miscarried. Lana realizes that Clark gave her up for her own protection, sacrificing his happiness for hers, whereas Lex only cared about his own happiness no matter how his plan damaged Lana. Clark's a good man who lies for good reasons, Lex is a bad guy who lies to cover up bad things. She now realizes Lex is the villain he painted himself to be in Onyx.

My point is that sometimes you lie to protect those you care about from pain. I tend to put Clark in that category. The lying bothers Clark, too. Lex views his lies as a successful manipulation.

The briliance in Lana's speech was that she strung together the lies with the truth so that her non-verbal cues wouldn't give her away to an accomplised liar such as Lex. Her half truths are timidly assigned a True/False label below: For example,

Handing him the briefcase:

"The police found this (Tru
e). I guess they really needed to get into it - I took it from them as fast as I could" - True!

"Yes I needed someone to talk to" - True!

"I could feel there was something wrong with the baby I could feel it" - false

"I didn't want to lie" - true, that is why she was going to back out of the marriage since she really loved Clark.

How coudl I stand at that altar in front of all those people and say that everything was going ot be alright when something was seriously wrong? What kind of a person would lie like that? - True!

Really good writing and KK delivered the lines with great sincerity. The moment Lex can't see her face, she turns to stone. Still wonder about the resolution on those mansion security cameras...

From her point of view she always gave him the benefit of the doubt and stood up for him to everyone and he repaid her with this reprehensible baby plot. She knew he had a darkness but she never expected him to do something so vile to her.

Absolutely right. Lana knew Lex wasn't squeaky clean but Lex was the only one being honest with her and leveraging her desire to be believed to the point that he earned her trust. She may have been warned but by whom? The guy who wouldn't trust her enough to tell her the truth about himself and the "best friend" who knew what she was dying to know but wouldn't tell her? Well, I don't blame Lana for seeking refuge with Lex. He bought the Talon before it was torn down and entered into a business deal with her, he was the one who showed up to the airport in time to send her off to Paris. He was the one who helped her pay her way back from Paris. He was the one who got her boyfriend fired and had the courage to tell her he was the one when she blamed Clark for it.

So. aside from all that, I guess she still should have trusted Clark and Chloe over Lex?

Now, Lex on the other hand - so desperate to gain lana's love and then drugs her into believing she's pregnant? How vile is that? She didn't do anything to deserve that. In fact, Lex told her on several occasions that it was her that would save him from becoming the dark person he was fighting against. So in some regards, she felt good about herself keeping Lex on "the right path" or so she believed.

Let's see, she was dating Whitney before she even had a clue that Clark liked her, semi-dated Adam after Clark said it wouldn't work between them, dated Jason when she and Clark hadn't been together in a year, and went to Lex after Clark told Lana that he did not love her anymore. For some reason, practically no one says thank you to Clark after being saved by them, and of course she's treated him horriby because she's still heartbroken. Whored herself? That must've been why he had to force her into sleeping with him.

Lana deserves none of Lex's BS.
