I thought he already knew that, in Season 2 or 3 when there was an eclipse or some sort of nova in space messing with his powers. I could be totally off though I remember something like that.

I think he already knows that from season 3 - the episode with Perry in it - where he lifts the tractor in that comical scene with Pa Kent.

But yeah this was cool!

When Jor-El spoke through the ship in season 2 Clark learned that his power comes from "Earth's yellow Sun". Also in the episode "Perry" he realized his powers fluctuated when there was major solar activity (solar flares). So I think he already knew ;)

I thought he felt better in the sun before now? But yeah - he seemed to get a def realization that the sun made him feel good. Hopefully he makes the connection and we see it again in the next episode.

I'm pretty sure he already knew. I think it was a sigh of relief. [Clarks mind]Oh, thank goodness. There's the sun. Now it can restore me back to normal. No more pain. Phew [/Clarks mind]

What happened? Did I miss something?

Well, this is BDA we're talking about here. You know, the one who bursts into a kryptonite filled room without checking it first?

Can't remember that far back though (the Perry reference), but like a poster said, this one seemed a lot more obvious.

Yeah - I agree. It was a breath of relief that he made it outta there.

I think the look on his face was from the relief from pain the sun gave by healing him.

No, he's known since Perry.

04-26-2007, 07:22 PM
yeah...he's known he had a connection to the sun for a while now....but i think this is the first time the sun as a healing power (since i believe this is the first time he got so messed up while still having his powers)

^^^i agree...this is the 1st episode where they actually made the reference to the sun as a healing factor!

xrayvision
04-26-2007, 07:29 PM
Yeah. It was always implied, but this is the first time it was shown healing him.

Him staring at the sun in this episode was just a subtle small nod to him knowing where he gets his powers from.

I wonder if this means he will now start talking to his friend, the sun.

Clark: Hello sun. And how are you today.

:p

I was hoping that Clark realized he was recharging his batteries with the sun shining down on him. This really hasn't been brought up since Perry...yay for continuity.

Actually, Pete pointed it out as a possibility back in Perry. But it was a nice moment and reference.

maybe he was surprised at how much power he got from the sun.
i don't really know

xrayvision

I think he has known how much power he got from it. I think him looking up was his appreciation for getting out from those tunnels and above ground.

Mr.
04-26-2007, 08:24 PM
oh i get!!! finally yah wehn he comes out of tunnel i thought it meant that he was human after all :P

Clark's gasp in the sunlight was very hot IMO

no he's always known he got his powers from the sun since season 3 but i think he was relieved that he got his abilities back because he was so hurt from being underground with the meteor rocks.

Thats the episode when there are explosions on the suns surface and clarks powers start going nuts. The sun must have something to do with his powers but not light.

Have you ever been sick?? When you after a day of puking you're glad to be feeling better. I took it as relief...his batteries were instantly recharged and he felt better.

I think Clark was seriously happy and relieved to see that beautiful sun. :)

Clark has known his powers come from the sun for a long while now. Showing the sun in the shot was just to show that Clark was recharged (i.e. the scene in SR where Supes flies up and soaks in the sun.)

he knows..i think he was just completely happy that he made it and to feel all his energy revive him but feel soooooooo good!

It is funny because this was actually my favorite part of the episode. Overall the episode was pretty decent. But for some reason I just loved that scene where Clark reacted to the sun recharging him. They did a very good job at subtly forshadowing the mythology side of the show. It was nice to see some mythology thrown in amongst all of the soap opera crap.

In Perry, paraphrasing the dialog:

Clark: "Maybe everything that I can do comes from the sun."

Pete: "Yeah, you're some kind of walking solar battery."

In Nemesis, Clark was just feeling better after being trapped in a tunnel with kryptonite (the sun helped).

For me it was just a poignant moment of that essential relationship Clark has with the sun. Meaning that it is the most fundamental reason for Clark having his powers.
My favorite scene of the episode.

In the eppy with the electric guy Barin or so he learnt it too. "So I guess Jor-El was right how the yellow sun effects you kryptonian cockroaches."

also Perry and few times with Jor-El, reckoning comes to mind "Your powers on earth may seem extraordinary, Kal-El, but we are not gods."

So, my guess is that he was relived to see the sun, and in SR he has the same look when flying above the clouds.

ANyone notice the look on Lex's face ? I mean sure, His lawfully wedded wife and Clark were being all lovey and i-want-to-jump-you-here-and-nowish, but I thought it just looked like he saw Clark and noticed how he seemed healed , as if by some otherworldly means and just thought... wait a second......... but thats probablly just me reading too much into it i guess
