View Full Version : Everyone does crazy things for love
Was it just me or did Lex flinch when GIJane said that? Wonder if he loves Lana? Or if it was about something else.

I think it was a reference to Lex faking Lana's pregnancy. That was something crazy he did for love :P

That's what I meant - I know that Lex loves Lex but could he possibly sorta love Lana in a strange disturbed Lex way?

Well, acording to the producers his obsessive love for Lana is making him insane. In fact, there is a recent interview with the writers of this episode where they state that Lex loves Lana in his evil, twisted way. :\

:rotfl: Well, I'm just saying because of what happened at the end of season where he said he wanted everything Clark did. Then when Kal confronted him on it, he didn't denie it, in fact he looked like he had the "Whoops im caught" face.

Of course, considering is Lex we are talking about, there is also his major jealousy issues regarding Clark, but it is not only that. He loves Lana, but he is evil and insane, as any Lex Luthor should be. Ah, reprasing that, he is not a proper Lex Luthor because he is not an insane evil genius, only an insane evil pathetic man.

If Lex does love Lana, he should kill her because he knows she still loves Clark.

I think that he will reach a certain point that he will be able to kill her. But, for now, he can't, because he still has some humanity left in him. Besides, even though he wants to be loved, as long as he has her, he can fool himself that she has feelings for him too.

I just hate to see Lex being that much of a fool. Where is his self respect? He obviously saw Clark and Lana practically embracing... and he knows that they talked before the wedding.

Maybe Lex isn't really being such a fool. Clearly he has plans for Lana - whether he loves her or not and in what way he loves her is not relevant at this point I guess.
Lionel also has plans for Lana - to protect Clark. So what could Lionel's plans be - he's harder to figure out than a rubik's cube!

More than him loving Lana as a person, I think Lex loves the notion of having Lana and that Clark doesn't have her...and the way that it makes Clark feel.
There are so many other girls Lex could have had. There is a reason why he wants Lana.

I agree with that. Lex doesn't love Lana - he loves the idea of Lana.
And Lex does get that little twinkle in his eye when he hugs/kisses Lana and looks over at Clark......that's just plain mean.

He does want to beat Clark and see him hurting, despite knowing in his heart he lost.
