NRAMA: Following this 4-part tale, your next comic-book effort seems to be a dream gig for many people, and certainly for Angel fans: you're working alongside (figuratively, I mean, you're not crowding him at his desk) Joss Whedon and picking up Angel's story where it left off with the finale of the TV show. We’re talking about the project that’d had the working title of Angel: Season 6, a story Joss has dubbed “After the Fall.” How'd such a thing come about in the first place?
BL: He begged and begged and begged, until I relented. That's the story I tell the ladies, anyway. The true story is, I ran into him the day before Spike: Asylum #1 came out and told him about it. A few weeks later, he e-mailed Mr. Chris Ryall and said that he enjoyed the series and that he was thinking about a post-series Angel book, and he thought I'd be right for it. I was shocked and elated.

Ok.. let me get this straight. They're going to make a Spike mini series. Taking off from the ending of Angel? With Spike, Gun, Angel and Illyria.
Gun will most likely drop dead from his stab wounds, David boreanz has a new show, and Illyria isn't really the hero type... well maybe. So just spike wandering around Los angeles.
I'd watch it even if it was crap. I love the Buffy/angel/spikeverse.

I'd watch Spike just wandering around Los Angeles. Now, if they would do a series with Faith and Spike, I'd be there in a second!

its a comics book, not a tv show. you cant watch anything. and you dont need actors either.

writer brian lynch says he's scripting the fist arc/issues, and he has seen the cover for issue 1. if you go to the idw msg boards, there's quite a bit of info.
and there is a spike/lorne mini called shadow puppets out with now from idw. (also written by lynch)
I'm definately gonna get that angel comic. I wasn't sure about getting the buffy season 8 comic because that show had a real end, but angel ended on a cliffhanger, even if the characters survive the battle I have no idea what they will do next with their lives. I gotta see what happend to them.

The CW head did say that they weren't against making a Spike TV movie. Hmm...
There's not going to be a spike movie. The new buffy and angel comics are gonna be made cannon, a movie would contradict that. Besides, james marsters is a little to old now to play a character that doesn't age.

I would watch anything made of the Angel universe, even if it didnt have Angel. Spike would be a good leading role for a series.
Imagine Spike falling for Faith, and Faith falling back. That would make for some good times!
Actually, i would want to see the Shanshu proficy fullfilled and Angel become human first, and going to find Buffy, and them living happily ever after.

I pre-ordered the new comic. I think it comes out some time in November. My friend reads the Buffy comic. I wasn't very interested, because the longing of my heart was for an Angel continuation. So Yay! My wish is coming true. Here's hoping it's good. I think I'm most excited to see Elyria (sp?) If only Wesley could come back from the dead somehow.
Her name is Illyria. :)
Spoiler- here is an inked panel from the new comic, as you can see more than one charatcer from angel's past will be making a reappearance. :)
