I would have liked to see Clark hug Chloe after he got out...she was really worried the whole time and he didn't address it on screen

Emphasize the arm another way. Clark should not be allowing himself to be felt up by a married woman like that. It was disgusting and unheroic and the writers can't seem to get that through their thick heads. Chloe is the one who should have gone to Clark and not Lana who should have been pretending she cared and asking for her husband. Lana groping Clark was icky. They managed to make Lex a sympathetic character again becasue of this stupid Lana fixation.
Next, Clark was *****y to Lex and should have kept his mouth shut instead of being nasty and telling Lex about Lana wanting to run out on him. That was bad and uncalled for.
Now...they could have made Lex more injured so that they both had to help each other more to get out.
I think I would have liked a conve between Clark and Chloe regarding Lana wanting to let Lex die. That wasn't a moment for , Oh, she still cares!" it was a moment of realizations that Lana would have let a man die and that is not what we want in women worthy of the hero's love. Even CHloe, who has every reason to hate Lex still wouldn't have stood by but Lana would have. Boy, it's way past time we saw Lana get her comeuppance. I'd have liked a lot more on this subject.

I would have liked some more Chlark interaction in a more friendly way, they seemed kind of cold to each other. I didn't really like that Lex was the one having to save Clark, it makes Lex think that he has the upper hand. Other than that, this is one of my favorite episodes.

I think Clark was pretty set on the idea that he was going to die - even if only for a minute - and he wanted to hurt Lex one more time.
I think Lex and Clark were equally as injured as the other. Though there was kryptonite in the cave, Clark is still pretty strong, so his gaping wound probably hurt as much as Lex's cuts and bruises.

I would have made Lionel take out a laptop from under his pillow after Lana left and provided a clue to the viewers of what's he's up to. They owe us that much after 19 episodes of no hints.

Clark should not have told Lex about Lana wanting to back out of the marriage on the wedding day. That was an awful scene and Clark should know that telling Lex that is not going to make Lana any safer when he already fears that she's in danger by being with him in the first place. Thankfully for Lana, her great acting skills got her out of what could've been a very dangerous situation, at least for the time being.

I really would have had clark retaliate more to lex when lex asked him if he had even given lex the benefit of the doubt. I would have had clark say "yes, every day for years i gave you the benifit of the doubt. for years I reasured everyone that you were a good guy, nothing like your father, only to have you proove that wrong time and time again. But i always forgave you and gave you the benifit of the doubt. I even forgave you after I found your research room dedicated to me! So do NOT tell me that i didn't give you every chance...even more chances than you deserve!"

I thought Clark was the "woman scorned" by telling Lex about Lana not marrying him. But Lana's retort was great. "Comeuppance", sorry I disagree here. Lana was naive to be in a relationship with Lex, but no one knew that Lex would fake her pregnancy and made her think she miscarried. I think even Lex didn't realize till Combat, what a monster he's becoming. Lana didn't deserve that treatment, that's playing with her mind and heart. "Deserving of our Hero's Love", yeah being a B**ch in the cave and telling Lex about Lana not marrying him is a "hero", alright.

chloe calling martha and telling her that clark is trapped in the tunnels and by the way theres kryptonite down there. she should of been there in my opinion
I actually won't change this episode any. I truly loved every minute of it.
So I'll just say "Where the hell was Shelby?"

I would have had Lex leave Clark to die. Chloe gets to Clark ( or the Martian Manhunter ) in time but Clark fakes his death so he can begin his training and then when he shows up as Superman, Lex doesn't recognize him because he believes Clark is dead. Then that paradox is solved.

actually, no, that would make it worse. becasue Clark Kent is a very prominent reporter for the daily planet, which i am sure the evil mastermind reads, and will know that clark some how survived or rose from the dead again, and would be even more sure that clark and supes are the same person.

Instead of Clark and Lex staring at eachother at the end, I would have liked Clark to just say thanks for helping me down there, shake hands like men and then walk away.

I would have added a profile-type camera shot of the 2 when the fire started blowing out of the manhole so that on the left side of the screen would be Lex, the fire coming out of the manhole in the middle of the screen and Clark on the right side of the screen. A shot like that would symbolize the "fire" that has gotten between them.

I'd have made the bomb have more time on it's display than just 14 minutes. Most irritating aspect of this episode to me was the time distortion. Why set a logical point in time and then break it all over the place? I'd have also not ended the scene in of Clexana so abruptly. The music was good and coming to an end, but instead of ending on its own the director took a leap in logic and cut the music off before it ended by jumping to another scene abruptly. Jolted me from the scene that was into another scene. Also the soap opera stance by MR at the end of the episode when Lana is lying to him. She's talking and then he quickly turns his back on her and looks just slightly off camera and we see his facial reactions and her entire being and she continues to talk. Made me laugh more than suck me into the scene.

i liked the fact that Clark was icy towards Lex. So what he blabbed about Lana on the wedding day-he's hurting emotionally and physically. When the green rock is around Clark is just plain hurt. i also disagree with a few previous posts that blabbing to Lex was weak move on his part.
look at it like this...Clark is seriously hurt but yet hit words hurt Lex down to the core. The last Lex and Lana scene proved it because Lex looked so shaken.
