In the preview for five years gone Nathan is speaking sinisterly to Claire, telling her that he's the most special person. That seems a lot like Sylar talking, he probably killed Candice, and Nathan at one point and is posing as Nathan.

That makes sense and would be a great twist, if they pull it off. They do say that everyone dies in this ep.

you're right, that doesn't seem like nathan talking at all, so it wouldn't surprise me. Also the episode description says that nathan is the president but the government is hunting down all of the "heroes", so sylar in that position would make perfect sense. however, i'm going to play devil's advocate here and point out that this episode focuses heavily on how the characters have changed as a result of the bomb, and it could just be that nathan has a very inflated view of himself since he is the president. it could very easily be either one, although i like your theory a lot better. If that is the case, the end of the season will have even heavier implications on the characters' futures and it would be a fantastic plot twist.

When I read this thread title, I was like "That sounds stupid", but then I read it and that sounds like the best theory I have heard! If there was a Ksite thoery award Hockeyking I would vote for ya! That all makes complete sense. There is another scene where Sylar and Claire are together and it looks like they are in the Oval Office. How cool would that be.

I have to agree, that's a great theory, I mean we see Nathan giving some speech about being "special" (classic Sylar speak) to Claire, and we see Sylar with Claire, in what looks like it could be the same place.
It would also account for the scary picture Sylar pianted.

God, I hope Sylar doesn't kill Candice. I mean, I wish SOMEBODY would kill her, but I don't want Sylar having that power. :(

the part where claire says, "sylar!" and then sylar says, "i've waited a long time for this"... it seems to occur shortly after the whole nathan "i'm special" speech... so i'm guessing sylar morphs back into his original self, revealing himself to claire... and then proceeds to finally kill her

Well I guess I gotta pat my self on the back. My prediction was true, and Sylar does indeed kill Claire. The thing that surprised me was how ruthless he was in not wasting any time in doing it.

Of course he wouldn't waste any time, he spent five years looking for her. Now I wanna see the Sylar and Peter fight. So what happened to Nathan's wife and kids? How does Peter still blow up? And the scar?
