Chloe and her ability

Ok, this question has been bothering me for a little bit and I want some opinions of other people.

If Chloe has had this ability for a number of years then why has it never had any effect on Clark when she kisses him? If the ability is in their body then it would also be in her saliva, therefore giving Clark the same effect as kryptonite.

Am I wrong? Please don't flame me.

That's a bit of over analyzing. And SMVL trying to jump the shark having Chloe suddenly become a meteor freak. Now that they've done it they had better not sweep it under the rug like other loose threads.

Well, I'm not stirred over it. During "Freak," Chloe and Clark were discussing her now-realized infection with the kryptonite when one of them (I think it was Chloe) said many meteor-infected people didn't manifest abilities for years. Chloe's took more time to surface too, which would explain why the green tears didn't appear sooner and probably why kissing Clark didn't hurt him. Just a guess. If it took time to surface, it was probably too premature to have any adverse effects on Clark.

By the way, Asparks, you won't get any flaming from me. First off, such a thing would be so uncalled for when you're just trying to make sense of this, and second, I know how it feels, and I'd rather spill lemon juice on a paper cut!
