So, if Jimmy is so important to her, why does Chloe never call him, or go to him when she's in trouble???
That doesn't make any sense.....
I hate Ch(l)immy.

Jimmy does give one a sense of who Chloe is in the show's relationship to the comics canon.
She is Lucy Lane, who was originally a flight attendant in the comics. They had Lucy in Lois & Clark for two episodes, and Jimmy was smitten with her. Never saw her again.

chlimmy suxxx...i don't mind jimmy.
he never has anything important to add...and with chloe being so upset now, and saying how upset she is...clark responds, "you don't have to go through this by yourself, you know..." where's the chlimmy relationship, anyway...

Ah, you can't blame Jimmy for that.
In the same vein, you can ask why Chloe doesn't go to Gabe, a father who bragged about his daughter to his colleagues and her classmates? Or Lois, her cousin who defied her father and dropped her life to investigate for Chloe's murderer? Or her Uncle Sam who engineered her rescue from the safehouse explosion and gave her cool toys to help her out?
Doesn't Moira herself remember about all those people? Why doesn't she mention ANYONE from the Sullivan-Lane family? Gabe, Ella, Sam, Lois, Lucy?
This is definitely one time I'm going to blame it SOLELY on the writers.

i don't blame jimmy. i like jimmy. he brings a good lighthearted nature that the show lacks right now...and he seems to really appreciate chloe for who/what she is. chloe deserves somebody that good for her.
that said...just not jimmy. both he and chloe deserve better than this...i love chloe, i like jimmy, i hate chlimmy...does that make sense?

If Jimmy really was important, he would come to her. See her or talk to her every day. Which he doesn't. Chimmy is not good together. Face it. She needs someone else. Clark??

If there's anyone who's at fault, it's Chloe for not telling Jimmy about her problems.
But I'm not blaming Chloe if she doesn't want to tell him, she must have her own reasons, but for people to bash Jimmy or Chimmy for not being there for Chloe in Progeny is puzzling IMO.
There are plenty of people who love and care deeply for Chloe, but they're not mind readers. They definitely can't help her if she isn't ready to share with them.

Yup and I agree...
Chloe deserves the kind of devotion, admiration and love she gets from Jimmy, but she deserves better then Jimmy.
Jimmy, deserves and sweet girl, honest loving an caring woman, Like Chloe, and an attracitve woman, like Chloe. But Not Chloe, someone more of his level

Um what was Chloe supposed to say to Jimmy?
Chloe: Hey Jimmy, My mom is a meteor freak who is mind controlling me to do stuff that I don't want to do. She is currently being held captive by Lex Luthor. You think you can help me out?
Jimmy: Wait what does the Egyptians want with your mom?

Wow. Jimmy-bashing takes to a whole new level. Sure he doesn't have superpowers like Clark or hasn't got billionaire or superpowered friends like the JL, but he's definitely someone who loves her a lot.
Even if he can't help her out in terms of resources, he definitely would be there for her, and give Chloe the emotional support that she needs if he knows what's happening to her.
He has said if anyone hurts Chloe, he'd be prepared to spend the rest of his life in a body cast. What else do people need? Let's be fair here.

Haven't you read Superman comics? Chloe is loosely analogous to Lucy Lane. Both are related to Lois. Both dated Jimmy Olsen. Both have been Lois Lane's rommate. Filter Smallville's usual distortion of the comics' canon and it all fits.
But then, Chloe also borrows some of her characteristics from the comics' Lois Lane. TPBT just decided to add Lucy to the mix this season.

Sure. But then she should make a clean cut and stop hanging around with Clark that much, IMO. I don't mind Jimmy at all. I wouldn't even mind Ch(l)immy if they wouldn't constantly show us that Chloe picks Clark over him. He was right to break up with her. Them getting back together was a joke - they didn't even speak about the reason for their relationship problems afterwards.... And yes, this problem is Clark. It always is.

If that is true (she exists only in Smallville), then her future does not look too bright. I'm not aware of the comics taking up the character (let's not count the Smallville comic book. It's more like Classics Illustrated than Superman).

Oh please. What about the way Jimmy is being perceived as a roadblock to Chlark, the way Jimmy has no use to some people unless he's a tool for Clark to "show his jealousy" over Chloe and Clark.
Of course this takes Jimmy-bashing to a whole new level, he has proven that he cares a lot about Chloe and just because he "isn't there" in Progeny, he's a wuss?

The future is irrelevant, IMO. I am sick of people interpreting things into the characters cause they think they know how everything will turn out in the futrure. That's annoying, IMO. We are watching Smallville, that's the present.

People say Chloe should forget about Clark cause he doesn't care as much for her as she does for him. Let's be fair here.....the same should be true for Ch(l)immy. Chloe simply doesn't feel the same way about Jimmy. The relationship is doomed. With or without Clark in the picture. Yet TPTB have decided to keep annoying us....

What she said reminded me my own experience with my ex-bf. It *was* very sad and it did show how much she cares about Jimmy and how she sees their future together.
Well, that's the interpretation without "levels", "deserving", "number of episodes" and any name stealing by Chloe.

I'm not really a big fan of Chimmy anymore. I just think Chloe needs someone who's more take charge. This is my big delima..I love Chloe, and I love Jimmy...I just dont love Chimmy. Chloe is an emotional gal....and she needs someone who's going to be able to keep it together, and be strong for her. Like...*cough*Clark*cough*. haha. Even if Chlark doesn't happen..I think Chloe needs someone else. Of course, you can't deny Jimmy's dedication to Chloe...he has treated her like a princess. But it's the exact same situation Chloe and Clark have going on. Jimmy loves Chloe...and Chloe can't give him the same amount of love in return. Thats always been Chlark's problem. It's making Jimmy seem pathetic that he would stay with Chloe...and get dragged through the mud like that. Jimmy broke up with Chloe because he couldn't stand how close she was with Clark. Has that changed at all??? Has anything?? I would think he would want some things to be different before he agreed to be with her again. The point of this very long rant...haha, is that Jimmy just isn't the type of guy Chloe needs to be with. No matter how sweet and freaking adorable he is! I really do love Jimmy, just not with Chloe. And it's not because I'm a Chlark fan...I just want someone with Chloe who balances her out. I think if an emergency happend Jimmy would be freaking out more then Chloe...and that's not what she needs. :)

04-22-2007, 07:26 PM
At one point what you say about Chloe not loving Jimmy as much as he loves her was true.
Not anymore.
For Chloe to say that Clark Kent is no Jimmy Olsen, and that she wished her MOM could meet Jimmy is HUGE!
It's LOVE!
:)
But I'll happily agree to disagree with all who do not share my opinion. :D
ETA: I would have agreed with a lot of what you say about Jimmy before the above comments made by Chloe and before Fallout. Jimmy tricked Lex. LOL! Used Lex's own arrogance against him and lost his job.
In Hydro kept a cool head and got pics of the GA despite the excitement of the mugging. If it hadn't been for Clark's super-speed that is.
Also... Jimmy loves journalism as much as Chloe. They are mismatched in a lot of ways, but they are alike in a lot of ways too.
Static narrowed the gap for me too. They are both geeky sidekicks in a way. LOL. I mean that in a complimentary way.

Gotta say, not a big Chimmy fan, and not really a fan of Lynda Carter's acting in this episode *shrugs* but it was sweet that Chloe would regret her mother not being able to meet Jimmy. I agree that it would seem at this point she loves James Olsen, but wether she's "in love with the boy' (to go Country-Western on you) remains to be seen.
I also agree with whoever said the Chimmy reminds them of the comics Jimmy/Lucy pairing. (Not just because both girls were Lois Lane's younger relative ;))

04-23-2007, 11:31 AM
I have agree with those who say it's not true that Chloe doesn't feel the same way about Jimmy that Jimmy does about her. It's been made quite clear in recent episodes exactly how much she feels for him, after they broke up in Trespass and again in Progeny when she wanted Moira to meet him. Just because we haven't seen them hanging out doesn't mean it's not happening. TPTB probably don't deem that relationship important enought to bring its progression out of Offscreenville (stupid TPTB).
And also, I don't think it's entirely fair to blame either Jimmy or Chloe for Jimmy's not being there in Progeny. If he had been, it would have led to some awkward conversations about Chloe's own status as a meteor freak. And I can't blame Chloe for not telling him about that. Jimmy's made it clear how he feels about all the Wall of Wierd-type stuff (And can you blame him?? That would take some getting used to.), and Chloe has just as much of a right to keep him from it as Clark has a right to keep his secret from everyone.
Jlvsclrk
04-23-2007, 12:25 PM
Yes, and then there's the time element too. Everything in the episode happened very fast: I just don't think there was time for Chloe to call Jimmy up and fill him in and have some hand holding: she and Clark were too busy trying to figure out what happened.
And at the end, she knows she's in Lex's crosshairs - I think she is taking her time to give a serious thought about whether she should pull Jimmy into the mess. She knows if she tells him, he'll want to help, but realistically can he? Or would he just put himself in further danger? Does telling him about herself also somehow compromise Clark's secret? Its not easy being Chloe.

Jimmy is adorable. I remember when he was all excited about exposing Lex how his eyes lit up- I just loved that fire. Course, Lex would have squashed him if the editor hadn't.
Still, he's Chloe's 'normal guy'. I think Chloe deserves to have a guy whose wild about her until Chlark stops obsessing over Lana and realizes he loves Chloe.
Honestly, she broke his heart, was carrying Lex's *fake* baby, married the guy and is now 'going to get through this like I always do'. Without Chlark this time, babe, cause I see one more 'Lana- in - distress' scene, I'm fastforwarding to Chimmy goodness.

Clark is Chloes friend.
Yes, she has a fascination with him, but who wouldn't have a fascination for a man who can pick up a tractor with one hand, run faster than the eye can see and is completley geniune and pure of heart, despite not being human.
I'm sure you guys can keep friends and girlfriends/boyfriends seperate. You don't have to pick one and lose another one, you can have both.
Stop acting like Chloe has to pick between Jimmy and Clark. She has feelings for them both but in two different ways.
