How did Chloe and Moira get their powers?

This seems to have been ignored and in the original spoilers for the episode it said that there car was struck by a meteor when they were driving through Smallville or something?

What happened to this reveal?

Yea I wished they gave us a little bit more detail.
It would make more sense as her being a 2nd generation
but how did they ever figure out Moira find out she can control them..a flashback would have been a nice, besides the one where she leaves chloe on vac :lol:

The other strange thing about this episode was neither Clark or Chloe seemed to question how Moira got her abilities.

Shouldn't Clark have asked Chloe where her mum was during the meteor shower?

I think it was obivously living in smallville they would Moira would of got her ablities from the metorshower.

Chloe can't be second generation meteor-infected because during the meteor shower Clark was around 3 years old, so Chloe, being in the same age group, would be around that age too.

I hope Smallville explains this in upcoming episodes. I'm getting confused about Chloe's past - it feels like things are being rewritten.

Chloe is from Granville and I thought she arrived in Smallville when she was in grade 5 (about 11 years old?). If Moira left when Chloe was 5 years old, then they both had to have been infected at this time (Moira can only control infected people). So Moira got infected and passed it to Chloe through pregnancy, or they both got infected when Chloe was a very little. How? Exposure by all sorts of means (see previous meteor freak episodes).

Chloe arrived in Smallville at grade 8. That was established in season 1. But her age that her mother left has been conflicted. Season 2 she said she was 5 and season 5 she said she was 12. I think they are going w/ her being twelve.

I hope they adress how Chloe got exposed tp the meteor rocks in later ep. Maybe it was in a deleted scene.
