I actually didn't like the Lana scene...strangley enough, I felt bad for her! haha. That doctor had some nerve..she just lost her baby, and he shouldn't have assumed it was something she did. He just ripped her a new one....uncalled for.
i also wish there was more time between Chloe and her mom...not the last few minutes. And...it drove me CRAZY not knowing what exactly Clark said to Chloe's mom about her! haha

The continuity bothered me, where previous episodes established that Chloe's mother was mentally ill. That premise seemed to get tossed in favor of this catatonic state scenario. I mean, that's fine it was never addressed.

The thing I hated most about this episode was its subject matter. Since episode 601 (Zod), only Reunion & Rage showed Lionel reading Kryptonian symbols. But since Zod, nothing other than he could read these symbols has been revealed. When is something going to be shown about the most interesting arc of the season? 17 episodes later, and we still have not even a single lead on what he's up to.
I had to go with 'It felt like a cop out that Moira returned to her catatonic state'
She could have at least been around for a few episodes before she slipped back away - it was just a little sad that Chloe got to meet up with her then had to watch her slip back away again. Too soon. But I guess that was the point wasn't it :/
Guess I was the only one who dug the truck product placement - something about guys that drive trucks lol......*sigh* love 'em.

I felt bad for lana too. It must suck to be her right now.
I hated that too, but for a differant reason. You see, I don't think he did tell her mom those things. I don't know why, I just don't, I think he was lying, but it was the most whitest lie they have ever told, seeing as he did that so chloe would feel better. I hated it, but it sure was sweet of him.

Lana didn't realise that she wasn't actually pregnant after, what was it, five months? She wasn't showing and Lex was involved. Lana's so suspicious of everyone, you'd think she MIGHT have put two and two together.

I hated that Clark didn't try to toss the meteor rock, poorly placed as well. He was able to toss those rocks in Season 1 and now he can't even move his arm, lame.
I'm not bothered about Moira's hair color because women change their hair color all of the time. And we know Chloe colors hers too.
The only part about the backstory that bothered me, is first it was 5 years she left, then 12 years old, and now the beginning of this ep seemed to have her somewhere in between those ages.

A couple of issues, did Oliver buy Clark that truck? Clark wouldn't accept gives from Lex but will from Oliver? Looks like we have a new relationship, Cliver. Another issue is how Clark and Chloe just show up at the crime scene and no one even notices them standing there or that Clark tresspassed through some farmer's field with his truck. Doesn't he know farmers feed cities? :p Also how the hell does someone like Gabe end up with Moira? Since when did Clark move into the clock tower? Where was Shelby? Why was the mental institution so damn fancy looking on the inside? When did Chloe inherit Wonder Woman's strength to kick those security guard's ass? What happend to the FOTW with the ghost whip? Was that FOTW's ghost whip a tribute to WW? Why does Lex have just a profile of Moira on his jump drive? Thats kind of a waste of memory. Why does the Daily Planet have soo many damn lights on the roof? Shouldn't they conserve power after the events of Dark Thursday? When did Lex finall grow a pair? Why did Moira look like she was flying an invisable plane at the end in the Clock Tower? Anyways thats enough questions for one day.

I thought this was a crappy episode. It was filler and nothing else. For all the reasons above, minus the truck endorsement (I guess it was okay that Chloe said, "Take my Yaris" earlier this year because, of course, it was Chloe) I thought this was a lame and pointless episode. Even the acting was sucky from AM and LC - the emotions were hardly believable...which is hard to even utter about AM. Lana was dumped on by the doctor and treated like crap - that was the only part of the episode that advanced the story arc at all - and that was pretty callous.

I thought this was a good ep. The characerization was good. But the continuity was crap and plotholes were definitely present. I wish they'd told us how Moira got powers. I wish we knew how/when Moira became catatonic (she was fine with little Chloe). I wish Gabe had seemed to be home instead of Moira and her "companions" seemingly leaving the child home alone (or Gabe just not caring enough to come out of the other room).
I wish they be consistent on when Mom left. I wish they'd kept the waffle story. I wish they remembered Lex was a meteor-freak.

I completely Agree i just wasn't buying the AM LC scenes. They were terrible IMO (partly just because of weak dialogue and not enough fleshing out of their relationship and back story and explanation and stuff). The whole ep did feel like a filler, which is a kinda dumb way to break the hiatus. The way it was all put together was sloppy and contrived I thought. The truck endorsement was just lol. Since when can Clark afford a nice new truck.... what ever happened to their old junky red one anyways.....

I think we are supposed to assume Moira can alter memories and that's why Chloe didn't recall what she had done while under Moirs'a control. Chloe misremembered the hand washing incident, after all. That would also explain why her earlier recounting of coming downstairs and seeing her dad burn pancakes wasn't shown; maybe that was an altered memory, as well. Hey, I am reaching here becasue I always thought that was cute. Also, they should have explained the Moira haircolor difference. They should either have made Moira's hair color blond or turned it back to blond when she became catatonic again, which, by the way, was kinda shaky as an ending and they could have done better. I hope this means we will see Moira again.
Also no mention of the meteor shower which would have been really cool.

I hated what they did with Chloe's back story, and the lack of continuity was bad. I was waiting for Moira to controll Lex, since he is supposed to be a freak, but that never happened. And one other little thing that bugged me: when Chloe and Clark are at the crash site, and Chloe says something like "That guy just pulled out his phone, time to turn up those super ears," I was like, um, is Clark blind or just braindead that he needs Chloe to tell him that?

I think the main weakness with that is that Clark has super hearing 24/7. He doesn't need to 'tune in'. He would have heard it all the same.
To quote SR :"I hear everything"
It even subtly pointed it out later in the episode when Clark heard Chloe shouting out from god knows where and came to her.

I was quite disappointed with this episode, even though I'm a huge Smallville fan. I did not like the background music, & the curt way Chloe treated Clark, ordering him around like some flunkie.
This episode also seems to be short on budget, populated with only a few characters. Missing in action are Lionel Luthor, Lois Lane, Jimmy, and of course Shelby. Ever since Jonathan Kent died, when we see Clark Kent in the farm, there's an overwhelming feeling of emptiness, especially with Martha frequently gone.
I would like to see more plot development on Jor-El tutoring Clark on his mission, i.e., some real movement of Clark's trajectory toward finally becoming Superman.

I think that the whole concept of Lana getting involved romantically with Lex in the first place was awful writing and their entire relationship was just not believable to me. As a result, I didn't really expect much creativity with this baby storyline. I was never a fan of it to begin with.

I agree...I'm not a fan of Lana marrying Lex or the Baby storyline either...but since the Smallville writers went ahead with such a storyline they could have come up with something a little better than what they came up with. I was at least expecting some twists and turns...like they promised...that would make Lana hate Lex for life. This of course will make Lana want to be rid of Lex...but it isn't something that will cause a deep hatred for him.

I disagree....I can definately see Lana develope "deep hatred" towards Lex after all of this...Being decieved in such a manner...Having her body be violated by unknowingly ingesting artificial hormones...Suffering through all of the pains of that medication (headaches/nausia/fainting spells)....Going through the horrible trauma of thinking she miscarried...The tremendous amount of emotional pain, grief, and guilt that comes with the thought of losing a child....only to discover that EVERYTHING was one giant LIE!!!!!!!
These acts alone are more than enough for anyone to feel some serious "deep hatred" imo. I would be surprised and disappointed if it isn't the case (if the writers easily dismiss these events)

While I rarely really hate anything that happens on SV, I was a bit annoyed with the total botching of continuity in Chloe's previously mentioned past. xrayvision posted an excellent summary (can't remember which thread) of how the writers have been too lazy to get Chloe's history (pre SV High) and when her Mom left home consistent.

It felt like a cop out that Moira returned to her catatonic state.
This episode didn't explain anything and only confused Chloe and Moira's backstory.
The lack of continuity. Why was Moira's hair color different, for example?
Why did Clark hesitate before saving Lex? Not at all like Superman.
No Shelby, as usual.
I voted for all of these.

I don't think I'd classify the beef I had with this ep. as something I'd hate -- only that it's a recurring issue I've had with Clark's character in general and his whole "heroic" evolution in particular.
It's when Clark has that epiphany moment at the end of the episode when he realizes that, yeah, Lex is a threat and it probably means war. I suppose we were all supposed to shudder at that moment because Clark declared war on Lex Luthor.
Unfortunately, Clark has had more than SIX YEARS to witness Lex (and Lionel's) machinations and it took Lex's par-for-the-course threat against Chloe to wake him up and realize that Lex is a danger and must be stopped? Naturally, Lana Luthor (aka Lang ;) ) is the excuse for him to hold back once again. I had the same feeling when he declared to Martha that he's not going to run from his destiny any longer. Hello -- Jor-El's been prodding you towards it for years? No wonder Raya was disgusted when he told her he hadn't started his training. He's the johnny-come-lately of sticking with the hero-training program. How much more of his soul does he have to search to figure it all out?
He's become little more than a bloodhound/muscle for one of the few people to actually take the initiative, which is Chloe. Let the woman rest her mind - she can't be expected to think/plan/act for Clark all the time. When's the 'greatest superhero ever' going to earn that moniker? I think that after six years of Clark finding his way towards his destiny (or should I say "stumbling"?), he should step up to the plate. Lana's going to let her sham marriage to Lex be the death of her to protect him ... and he's not quite prepared to declare open, unrestricted war on Lex just yet?
In this ep., it's not entirely his fault because this was needed to establish some closure for Chloe and her mom, hence his secondary "go-stop-the-bad-guys, Clarkie" role. The irony is that this is his role even in episodes when he should be front and centre. Let Kal-El think.
On another note, I noticed another seed of discontent that could emerge between Chloe and Jimmy, something about Clark having the chance to meet Moira but Jimmy either not having the chance (or being given the chance)? I don't know if it'll come up on-screen, but how would Jimmy react if he found out that it was Clark -not him - that actually had that opportunity?
The episode was entertaining -- except for that supposedly dramatc moment when Clark declared "war" on Lex ... finally ... at long last. Welcome to the party, Clark, but Ollie Queen's been here for a year and he's fighting that battle as we speak, thank you very much.

Indeed, didn't Oliver say much the same thing before to Clark?
The writers do like to stretch things out a bit.

But since Zod, nothing other than he could read these symbols has been revealed. When is something going to be shown about the most interesting arc of the season? 17 episodes later, and we still have not even a single lead on what he's up to.
If its okay I have a theory :).
I think Lionel is using his new kryptonian knowledge mixed with his cloning technology from S2,some of Clark's blood from S3,or maybe the silver k blood sample Braniac got from Clark in S5 to create Bizarro.
But hey just a theory :).

I disliked the personal army thing as well!
Mind you, I hated the kryptonite part, but that wasn't really Chloe's fault. Her attitude towards Clark is though.

And...it drove me CRAZY not knowing what exactly Clark said to Chloe's mom about her! haha
Gold-Diggers do exist, and women do what Lex did more than men.
