The Kent's really need to start hiding that kryptonite better - or else it might turn into a bad party trick.

Seriously, why DOES he keep it around?

Remember Crimson, Runestone? Or any other episode where his friends and family have had to stop him? He keeps it around because he wants the people he loves to be able to stop him in situations like that.

And I don't think it's a stash. It's just the one piece in the box.

^^Maybe in case of a Red-K emergency?

I was like 'Where did that kryptonite come from?! WTF?' When I saw Chloe just popped up with it in her hand.

I know it's not a whole slew of rocks - but it just seems that people know right where to find it - granted it was Chloe but to me that is something that should be safeguarded against everyone save maybe Mrs. Kent.

I know that they keep it around just-in-case.....I just think that it's a little too....available........

Maybe one person namely martha oughta know where the rock is just in case Clark is having an episode. Too may people know how to kill him -, so that rock shouldn't be just laying around next to the good china.

But don't you think Chloe deserves to know where it is too? It's not like Martha can be there every second and I think Chloe's earned that right. And I definetly haven't gotten the impression that anyone besides those two know about it, then I would have a problem.

I guess maybe it's that every time they want to put Clark down - out comes the kryptonite - every time they have a Clark-out-of-control issue out comes the kryptonite - every time one of Clark's friends in the know goes AWOL out comes the kryptonite - want to get Clark's attention out comes the kryptonite (want to have some fun with Clark out comes the red kryptonite ;) )........

now I realize this is Superman-in-training - but for such a hazardous substance that can and will kill Clark if he's exposed to it for too long - I just think it should be hidden away a bit more secure than running to a cubbard in the kitchen and whipping it out......just my opinion. It's not that Chloe knew where to get it - it's how easy it was to get it.

I was more confused about the lead box to tell ya the truth. I thought "What? Does martha carry one of those around in her pocketbook?"

Person: Senator, a lead box fell out of your pocket.
Martha: opps.

Chloe took the kryptonite outta the lead box and left the box on the counter or floor. Martha picked up the box and put the kryptonite away - but still.......that doesn't make it right that Chloe can just open a cubbard and tadaaa - Clark's down for the count. They need to lock that stuff up......or something......

I know, I figured that out after the epicode though.*is slow today*

I'm not sure she got it out of the cubbard or something. Maybe she had key to where the keep it? I don't know. But I agree, they need to keep it father away, like they did back in Red. (in a well hiden corner of the barn)

I think they extablished in the past that it was in the closet when they got it out to ease the pain Martha was having with Dr. Fine. (I Have to watch that again to be sure)

Also Chloe knew about it before because she used it in splinter to get Clark away from Mr. and Mrs Kent when he went nutzo on them

ok maybe nutzo isnt the right word LOL.

I am beginning to think that clark should wear a lead shirts and pants-he can handle the weight. that kyrto box just gets pulled out too many times. Writers can't think of anything else and this time it seemed to be with the cooking stuff in the kitchen. since it can kill him, Martha can at least put it away in a hiding place, so it isn't too unusal. You know Lois is the kind of character that would look around at things, find it, question why a meteor rock is kept in a lead box and won't stop until she gets a reasonable answer.

Remember when Chloe saved Jonathon Kent's life in Splinter when Clark was going crazy? If she hadn't have known about the stash then the Kents would likely be smooshed like bugs in their kitchen. I'd say she's proven herself plenty worthy of the responsibility of knowing where to find the Kryptonite.

My thoughts exactly! The issue isn't even that she knew about the kryptonite- that inevitably would have been revealed- but seriously, what is Chloe's meteor-related power? Flash-caliber superspeed? I wonder, because it takes Clark longer to retrieve that led box than it took Chloe.

Maybe he hasn't yet learned to use his heat vision to shave. After all, he has to shave, cut his hair, etc. Maybe they bring out the old green K, weaned him, and Martha takes care of those things. :)

I said it in an eariler post - it's not that Chloe knows where the stash is - it's that it's so available to get. They need to hide it better. And fine if Martha and Chloe are the only ones who know - but I think they need to keep it hidden so that others like Lionel or another enemy won't take advantage of the availability of the rock. I mean - Lionel could be looking for a butter knife and HELLO - there's the kryptonite right into his pocket or noting where it is so he can use it later on. Too many people seem to know Clark's weakness or too many crazies know about Clark being 'special' so it's not hard to fathom that someone somewhere might use that rock against him - being so readily available and easy to find in the house is just not a good idea....

Lock-and-key or under a floor board or somewhere in the barn.....not in a drawer in the kitchen or in the cubbard or under the bed.......

I think it should be hidden but not locked or too difficult to get at because if they (Martha or Chloe) need it to stop Clark the last thing they need is to be fumbling with keys.

or maybe they need to cut back on the clark losing control episodes. thats the only justification really.

Hell Hath no fury like a woman scored.

I surely hope that Clark doesn't have any of them in his past or they will get the poor guy...

I'm surprised noone's even thought much of how Lionel taunted Lana with the knowledge of Clark's only weakness, which she does know can kill kryptonians!

When did she learn about Kryptonite?

I must have missed it, because I thought Lionel was only stating that Chlark has a wekaness- and Lionel can exploit it to kill him.

Not by name, but if you remember the two Kryptonians in the season 5 premiere that kept asking for Kal-El and Lana was the first person they asked.

Later at the mansion the canatonic Lionel told Lana how "Their home is their poison!"

I was more amazed by the miraculous teleportation properties that kryptonite seems to have. I seem to remember always seeing it in the loft unless someone needs it in the house, in which case it suddenly appears in the nearest closet or cupboard. Either that or Hiro has been undermining Martian Manhunter's apparent guardian duties in a surprise Heroes crossover.

I think they keep it around just in case they need to sweat out red-K lipstick from Clark's system again. They should at least hide the thing. It looks like the same little box with the same piece of greek-K. I though that you couldn't use the same piece of K on Clark twice? The second time it wouldn't work.

faz
04-25-2007, 12:58 PM
I don't recall them ever saying k couldn't be used on Clark twice. In season 5 Clark "died" when he was injected with it and Chloe told him that "dying" neutralized the K in his system, but aside from the lame cop-out I don't ever remember seeing anything that would indicate it couldn't affect him twice. Don't forget about Lana's necklace, how many times was he affected by that thing before the ship turned it into an ordinary crystal?

anybody think that the kryptonite chloe used could have been her own stash she has in her bag just in case as she doesn't trust clark 100%.

I always have believed that kryptonite is an emergency staple at the kent house.
imagine clark as a 4 year old with a temper tantrum.
Did anyone ever watch superfriends as a kid and superman traveled to an alternate universe, where even the cops have kryptonite guns, cause superman was bad.

I always feel bad for Clark when the kryptonite's out. :(

Unfortunately for Clark, people seem to go crazy on him much more than he goes crazy on other people.

i don't know, and i haven't read the entire thread, but chloe knowing where to find it just makes sense. clark trusts her. how many times like 'blank' has she been the only one helping him. martha is out of town a lot.

and as to why it's there in the first place, batman has a piece, not that he stole in case, but that clark gave him, because everyone knows checks and balances aren't such a bad idea...

We know Clark keeps it around just in case (as mentioned by several people). We've seen them keep it in a closet (or something like) in the house, and we know some is also kept somewhere in the barn from Chloe's comments.
