Do you think the Heroes were created in an experiment many years ago that we do not yet know about (some kind of injection of cells that would make them super-powered) or simply born and the powers came about through evolution?

Clearly right now we're supposed to assume that their powers came about naturally, but I think later in the show we will find out that they were experiments from an earlier generation (perhaps the parents we've seen know all about it and that's why they seem so mysterious.) It would also explain why The Company wants to tag them all. Perhaps their experiment got out of control and now they're trying to track and contain it.

You bring up a good question. Though it looks to me that it might be a little of both. From reading the online novel it seems that they are telling an origin story right now as far as how people with abilities became recognized during the (I am guessing) the Korean War. I am assuming that these people were brought back from the war and experimented on, a form of genetic engineering experiment which created or unlocked more heroes abilities and generations after the initial experiments there are many more heroes due to the natural processes of life, and that there are a few original heroes out there, such as Linderman.

Actually the novels show Linderman as a young boy who left home becuase of his abilities. He joind the army because he had no where to go. Also on the Wizard interviews on NBC.com TPTB panel were asked that andsaid that right now it is a bio thing (meaning born with) and that maybe later iot could change to something else. Tim Kring said the idea was for it to be an evolutionary advancement. Which of course would go along with Mohinders Fathers (Yeah I get a shot) research.
