View Full Version : "How could she marry Lex?"...

Clark said this in "Combat" and Chloe has said as much in previous episodes, even going so far as to call Lex a "monster." The only problem is that both of them have refused to share any information with Lana that would make it clear that Lex *is* a monster. From Lana's perspective, he's one of the few people who's been consistently honest and open with her.

If Clark and Chloe told Lana about 33.1 and about the innocent people he tortures and his other shady dealings, that would be one thing, but they can't really complain that much that Lana would want to marry the Lex *she* knows. Why wouldn't Clark tell Lana the real reason he and Lex aren't friends anymore? (The events in "Mortal".)

She probably wouldn't believe clark or chloe because she "loves" him but things have changed now and shes pretty much stuck in the situation she put herself into

Yeah, I agree with Bandit06. Maybe a week or two before the wedding all of that info about 33.1 or the events in Mortal could have swayed Lana. Now, however those factors are irrelevant because Lana didn't want to marry Lex after all. So, in response to "how could she do it?" Is, she did it because she loves Clark and she wants to protect him.

I guess that if Lana had information about 33.1 among other things, she could then find an excuse to divorce Lex, but at the time, IMO, even if her reasons for not wanting to marry Lex was this information rather than the truth about Clark, Lionel still would have made Lana go through with it.

i agree with them at the top, Lex is a douche and Lana should be smart enough to see right through him but she doesn't. But clark should also get off his lazy depressed ass and order Lana to be with him. She loves him with all of her heart! why can't anyone see that?

Maybe cause of the baby. That was the reason that Lana didn't want to hear bout the halfway house. She knew that if she found out the truth then it would ruin her relationship with Lex and she didn't want her unborn child to go through that.

That has all changed now though. Either way, Lana doesn't need Clark or Chloe to tell her the truth about Lex. She will find out herself.

Well she is really feeling like crap now cause she lost her baby and now is married to Lex. I think the only reason she ever stayed with him in the long run was cause she was pregnant and he was the father. I dont think she ever really trusted him as much as she led on. but i sure would be calling my lawyer for a divorce

i agree with man of steel 37013 because maybe that was the only reason that she stayed with Lex. If i were her, i would definately call Clark right away and let him in on what Lionel told her in PROMISE, that way he'd be aware of the situation, then he'd go and get Lana. They would have to hide out somewhere for awhile, maybe they could both go down to Metropolis and go into that apartment that 'Kal' stayed at in EXILE they'd have some real fun then, we all know that if Clark was on Red K he would definatley have the courage to do so. :p

i'm sure Lana knows in a sense that Lex cannot be trusted- it is the reason for all the looks of repugnance when she walks away from lex. it's just that she knows she's dug herself too deep to get out

^ That's I believe her speech to the wacko bodyguard in Trespass wasn't merely an act, at the very least it must have to do with how she herself is feeling right now: too deep within the Luthors' web to get out from it.

But with her wanting to call off the wedding just because she has finally seen with her own eyes about Clark's powers simply doesn't make sense. IMO with that kind of reason, it disqualified any speculation saying that she'd still call off the wedding if she had any information about 33.1 or stuff like that. Heck, she has already has confirmation that Lex is blatantly lying to her about Tobias. That's good enough excuse as any not to go through with the wedding.

So now we're back again to whatever that has happened in Reckoning. For Lana, unless she has full disclosure regarding the truth about Clark, nothing else matters, and she'd never accept him for himself. Lex said it best, "You'd never say yes with all the doubts you have". Which makes her line in Hydro "When I was with Clark, I would have said yes without hesitating" as absolutely nonsensical.

I agree that Clark and Chloe should have told Lana about 33.1.
But did they ever have any SOLID proof? I don't think I saw any. And without solid proof, Lana wouldn't believe them.
