View Full Version : Classic Lois and Clark moment?

Who else thought Lois and Clark meeting up unexpectedly at the Fight Club was a very Lois and Clark moment. Both as in the characters and as in the TV show, Lois and Clark. It just seemed like something that would have happened in Season 1 of Lois and Clark. Clark goes off to get into the Fight Club and stop it, and Lois ends up trapped there and forced to fight while trying to get a story. And lo and behold, they end up in the ring facing each other. It just seemed like something that would happen to Lois and Clark classically in the comics and in L&C.

Clark and Lois said exactly what I've expected both of them to say after they got thrown in the ring together, "Punch me." "I'm not going to punch you Lois."

But anyway, yeah there's always that kind of pattern with Lois and Clark. They go off doing their own things for completely different reasons, but still ran into each other in the end like in Reunion.

I'm really mad though that it's a whole month till another new episode....grrrrrr!

The Lois and Clark scene was actually better than the fight scene, IMO. I loved it. I am disappointed at its brevity, however. :(

Don't forget Exposed;)

It was awesome, but then, Lois and Clark moments are always awesome.

Did anyone else noticed Lois and Clark shared bit of an awkwardness when she enters the Talon in the beginning. My sister noticed first, we saw it again. The didn't make any eye contact there for a moment.. Crimson memories..;)

Totally forgot Exposed there :D I just love the way they always go "Lois?!" "Smallville?!" "What are YOU doing here?!" I think this also happened in Devoted, when both of them broke into Smallville High separately at night looking for clues about the cheerleaders and their nutty boyfriends, but ran into each other in the halls.

Another thing I love about Clois in this episode is the way Clark recognized that Lois could take care of herself, he doesn't need to smother her just like the way he told Lois to run for her life like in Gone. Just like the way he didn't need to wait for Lois to get over the fence in Krypto, because he knew she'd definitely manage to do it anyway.

IMO that's why when he's faced with the prospect of Lois being in danger, his concern for her is very strong since she has always come across to him as someone who could hold her own and could get herself out of trouble. Like in Combat, Cark was very cold and he kept his voice low all the time, seething with anger but when Titan was going after Lois, he exploded and yelled fiercely at Titan to leave her alone. It reminds me a lot the way he slammed Geoff on the car in Recruit, and screaming in his face asking where Lois was.

Loved the references to Gone -- Lois, run!

Apparently Clark doesn't remember, Lois doesn't run.

Also, have a question -- Lois' fighting name, was it Crimson? I think that's what Maddox said.

I'd have to agree with seacrystal -- the way Clark yelled at Titan about leaving Lois alone! Classic. And it was nice to see him rush to her -- but I would have preferred him to pick her up.

OMG I totally saw the awkwardness between them I just didn't put it togehter that it was because of Crimson...duh, this is the first time they've come face to face after all that good stuff! I have to go watch it again........!!!

I agree with baudyhallee about wanting to see Clark pick Lois up. Seemed rather strange to me that he didn't do that. In other episodes of rescuing her, he did. What's with the writers for this one?

He just sat down and looked after her. That was cool too. Any thing Lois and Clark do together is cool:D

I agree with you guys, even Clark knows that Lois is not the damsel in distress. She would manage to save herself in the most desperate of situations.

I laughed at the way Lois yelled "Smallville!"..

what i thought was funny was lois actually punching clark in the gut, and getting her hand all messed up. that made me laugh out loud. no other charachter on the show would ever hit clark like that.

I thought it was cool too. I also loved how she didn't think for a moment before jumping in and trying to tackle Titan. Lois was just awesome.

I am glad that Clark mentioned her working on her story in the end but I would've prefered an awesome loft scene like Crimson.

Although I am a die-hard CHLARK fan, I was led to believe that there would be an "intimate" moment between CLOIS:\. . .Oh wait, I forgot, "intimate" moments are only reserved for CLANA on this show:rolleyes:

It's hard to be intimate when you're on full rage mode like Clark was :) I was initially a bit disappointed too, but seeing how cold and unfeeling he was in this episode (he couldn't even give a smile at Chloe's attempt of humour), concern for a friend is good enough for me.

And, man, did I love that fighting scene. I loved it that their roles were reversed this time. Lois is usually rather lightly taking any fight and this time she was serious, trying to get THEM out of there, protecting Clark when Titan punched him, ending on the floor knocked out. Clark is usually distracted and acting all weird in order to hide his powers and here, he was serious and concentrated, ready to fight, very manly at last.

I love my Clois in the serious mode. :D When the two of them are serious you just know the situation is pretty bad as opposed to emo-serious like in Clana. They're such a no-BS couple

Non-BS couple is a good way of putting it. There's just no way you'd see these two ever moping or whining nonsense with each other.

YO  It doesnt have to be romantic to have a moment, or what Martha/Clark moments are romantic now????

Also romance chemestry is a very subjective thing.

It was a fun, nod to the future and to the comics moment, (in comics Clark oftern finds Lois in trouble, mixed in something he was investigating by himself and has to rescue her, "Superman always saves Lois").

Also, it showed that Lois would actually put her life at risk for a Clark (this doesnt mean she loves him romantically), but that she care´s for him and that she is selfless enough to risk her life to save someone she cares about. Lois had just witnessed Titan send a man flying at least 40 feet across the room and Clark (who is a big guy) sent flying and crashing against the cage, so I think it speaks volumes of her couorage and selflesness that she faced him (knowing she stood little chance against him) to keep him off Clark.

Okay you have a right to your opinion but don't tell other people not to have one, and the reason that we're "hype" is because it was a nice funny moment for Clois and it's the reason why we love them so much. And i never ever have gotten a brother sister vibe between them, to me all that banter just disguises romantic tension between them :D

The Clois moments rocked. I'm such a Clois fan! Hehe.. My favourite episode was CRIMSON because they made out! HAHA.

Anyways.. this episode was good too! Haha funny that Lois actually punched Clark. LMAO.. But .. I think that the Clois moments were kind of short, this episode.

Like, she punches him. Her hand hurts, Kane comes, and that's when the moments gone. I wished that they woulda kept the CLOIS moment going.. Ahh.. but whatever! xD

If you're referring to the title of the thread, I never implied they had romantic chemistry in that scene. It was a classic Lois and Clark moment because it is the type of situation they get into all the time in the comics and on other Superman TV shows.

PS: YO who teh is tish "lark" dude lol roflmao don't I sound dumb when I talk like dis?

Yes, I agree. It was very classic and iconic. I also liked how Lois kind of 'took over' in tryng to get them out and came up with a plan on the spot (not knowing, of course, that it was unnecessary, given that she's with Superman).

"Punch me."
"I'm not going to punch you, Lois."

"Fine, then I'll punch you." *hits him and gets hurt* "What are you wearing -- a steel plate?"

*Clark sees Titan*

"Lois, run."

And she doesn't -- instead, she jumps on Titan after he knocks Clark out. Which then leads her to being completely conveniently unconcious while Clark does his "Superman" stuff.

I felt like it was everything I'd seen with Clark Kent/Lois Lane investigations in all other versions of Superman. I loved it. :D

I thought the same thing. Clark was very cold and emotionless throughout this episode, with the only exception being his reactions to Lois. I think that was part of the reason he was so enraged at Titan beyond anything normal (and why he was so shocked at his desire to kill) because Titan hurt Lois.

I really loved that Lois jumped on Titan's back after Clark told her to run! It was fantastic and perfect for her character. She was trying to help Clark instead of relying on him to save her. And that reaction is why ultimatly she is perfect for Clark and he can be himself around her. She treats him as an equal, and tries to help him even when it puts her in physical danger.

Perhaps he was concerned about aggravating any injuries esp neck or spine if he just picked her up. However, it would have been cool if he x-rayed her to see if she had any internal bleeding or broken bones.

Also, I think another reason Clark was mad was that he was seeing Lex's bald head on Titan. But seriously, his underlying anger issues were b/c of Lana marrying Lex....he knows that she was forced, just not how or by you......YET!

oh definitely, I loved it when he goes "Lois?" and her "Smallville?!??", it reminded me of when Clark would always get to the investigation sites first in comics/STAS/LnC and Lois thinking she got there pretty fast would always be shocked to see Clark there too. And then Lois would begrudgingly HAVE to work with Clark so they wouldn't blow each other's covers.

I usually dislike most incarnations of Lois. But I like the SV version a lot better. She acts all joking around Clark, but when push comes to shove, she comes through. I noticed this way back in that one where Lois was getting put in the kryptonite tanning bed with all the spikes. Clark rushed in and immediately fell b/c of the kryptonite. Lana would have been looking agape at him and saying "Is there something you haven't told me?" Lois just grabbed him and got him out of there. I love this interpretation of Lois as actually being a nice person, and I look forward to more.

That is so true! SV Lois is absolutly my favorite portrayal. ED does an amazing job. Lana just waits around for Clark to save her, but everytime he does she becomes more and more suspicious of him. So annoying. Lois saves herself, saves him, and even says thank you sometimes when he saves her (ie Exposed).

IMO that's exactly what separates Lois from the other girls on this show. Even though her life doesn't revolve around Clark and making him as the center of his universe, she still can be a good friend to him. She never bugs him about his weirdness, acknowledges that he likes to keep things to himself and she respects that. When he saved her like in Recruit, Exposed and Gone just in the nick of time, she just accepted it and thanked him even though she has no idea how he did it.

I find it funny that both times in Gone and Oracle, when Lois was trying to pull him out from Lana-land, he snapped at her saying that it was none of her business. But in the end he confided in her anyway

Yes! Lois doesn't need a hero because she knows she can take care of herself. Lana has always needed a hero. She has the damsel in distress thing down pat. In the long run that will definitely be what makes the Lois/Clark relationship different. Clark has found an equal in Lois. Someone who just sees him for who he is and gives him hell about it (in a teasing way).

Lois throws herself into dangerous situations completely based on the fact that she believes she can take care of herself. That takes a lot of guts. A lot of Lois haters say that she has no redeeming qualities. Sometimes I wonder if they are watching the same show as I am, lol.

You make some really good observations and I agree. I'm just waiting for Lois to be more included in the episodes or more episodes that are centered on Lois. She's a tough cookie and deserves some props.

Although - granted Lois knows she can take care of herself- she kinda just walked into getting caught in Combat. She should know better considering how much time she spent around the military etc. She's got guts now the writers need to make it more clear that she's got the smarts too.....I think they are trying though.

Yeah, I think they walk a line between showing some brains and showing pure guts. She used her brains to figure out where the fight club was located, but she didn't really think through her plan. SHe was just kind of flying by the seat of her pants and seeing what happened. Good thing she faced Clark in the ring or she would be dead. I think that's part of the differentiation between reporter Chloe and reporter Lois. Chloe always uses her brain and Lois always jumps right in. It would be good to see a little bit more thought into Lois' plans.
