View Full Version : New reason to watch the show

This whole season I’ve been complaining that if you took away the other heroes (Green Arrow, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, Cyborg and Impulse) then there’s nothing at all interesting about this season… I don’t care about Lex and Lana’s marriage or Lex being possessed by Zod’s ghost, and I don’t care about anything we’ve seen Clark going though this season.
That all changed with Combat. Now we’re seeing Clark get closer to becoming Superman. Now we’re seeing him act like Superman…. Now’s there’s new reason to keep watching the show.

Well, you know.....one could also see it this way: while Clark was at home being angry at Lexana, Ollie was out there destroying level33.1 labs..... Clark still has quite a lot to learn, IMO.

Because the show was just so great during season 1 and 2, that I’m still addicted to watching even if it’s not nearly as good anymore.

I think the show has gotten better and better, except for season four that one sucked but 5 and 6 are so far the best.

I absolutely loved the moment clark said "My Turn". years of smallville frustration were momentarily forgotten.

I know - Ollie was taking care of business - did you see Lex's screen that showed all the sites that were compromised! - I think that the phone call with Ollie showed that Clark is taking a more hands on approach.

Yeah but Martha seemed to be not condoning his whole hands on approach. And it looks like Clark wasn't happy with himself for doing it that way.

I agree. Giving Clark something to build off of for the future. Clark's morals were there in the end. He's got growing pains - let the man grow into his role!

I think that she condoned his actions and his intentions, but was not pleased that Clark beat up the people. Depending upon the freak powers, most of them probably had it coming. I think that, unless he beat up a freak with lower class powers, he is becoming much more global in his efforts and is ready to take Ollie up on his offer.

YO the show is about YOUNG SUPERMAN. So this clark character will GROW to BECOME superman. so he should act MORE like superman as the seasons GO ON, and he gets CLOSER to becoming SUPERMAN.

Martha knows that the anger that is driving Clark isn't over the injustices that he is 'righting', it's over the Luthor marriage--and Lana's betrayal. She realizes that he needs to deal with that and not just channel it into saving the world.
Chloe's comments to Clark in Promise about not laying his heart on the line were good comments, and I think Martha is concerned about the same thing. To truly fulfill his destiny, Clark will have to risk his heart--because he also will need compassion. Compassion is a heart thing.
Fighting Titan was HUGE for Clark. He faced things in himself, and at the end of the episode was more ready to move forward than he's been since Raya died.
Now...if only TPTB don't do the 'one step forward--3 steps back' dance we might actually get somewhere!

Yeah, but Clark was taking care of someone who could have wiped out the JLA by himself.
