It was strange...the look could be one of two things in my opinion.

Lex was being so evil that he decided to put something in Lana's drink to make her miscarry.

The look was because he cared so much(YEAH RIGHT) that she was drinking something with alcohol in it and even though there was no baby, he thought of how much she cared about its health.

Lex didnt drug her to miscarry because there was nothing to miscarry and if she was really pregnant, Lex surely wouldnt kill him. Lex put something in her drink to make it seem like something went wrong to make it appear as if she lost the baby. There was no baby all along. It was just a lie to get her to marry Lex. Lana and Lex even talked about the whole baby to marriage thing earlier in the season.

at first i thought the look was that he put something in her drink to help along with the expirimental evil spawn, but after the miscarry happened, then i figured it was probably him who caused it with the drink.
