How many episodes do you think it will be before the writers have her change her tune?

Probably next episode. They make her flip-flop back and forth every other episode.

Didn't Martha tell Clark last episode to do what he must for love? Now she brings up the fact that he is angry Lana married Lex and then she says forget about it. Damn Martha, make up your mind.

And essentially that what currently makes her as a plot device. I find it disheartening though, the mother of a future superhero being reduced to just plot expositions and nonsensical lines such as in Promise.

Promise made just about everyone look stupid, except the MB. He is typically above this sort of crap.

Yeah, Clark let go, despite the signs that Lana was forced to marry Lex..... Did Clark tell her everything that happened, because i missed the first parts of the episode? If he did, then Martha sucks........I don't know how they could have screwed up Martha........But they have, in fine fassion:rolleyes:

That last conversation between Martha and Clark was infuriating. I mean honestly do the SV writers remember what they write? That whole scene pissed me off.

Once again the writers screwed up Martha Kent's dialogue. They showed such promise with her in Promise and now another back track. *sighs* At least Clark is intelligent and has realized that someone forced Lana to marry Lex. Hopefully, he realizes Lionel's blackmail quickly. (It will greatly improve the show)
BOO FOR MARTHA!!! I really miss Jonathan.

No one notices anything on Smallville. They're all blind. Well...all of them besides Nell.

Clark's getting smarter or I should say the writing for Clark is somewhat getting better.
We just need to work on bringing back Clana.

Clark won't listen to Martha. He'll find out why Lana married Lex.
And Lana will find out about her baby.
Clana are both on a mission to find the truth in the next ep.

I wish Martha would make up her mind.
Interesting that Clark and Lana were both told to let go.

Both were told to let go but I have a feeling that both are stubborn enough not to listen (Atleast I hope they are). I was Seriously hoping we would see Lana watching Lex burn her medical records but no dice.
I was really REALLY hoping the distrust and negative feelings that Lana had for Lex would follow to the end but I really can't blame her for being depressed and in need of some loving care (If you can call what Lex did loving care) after losing he baby. I have Hopes for the future aleast a non-lexana future *fingers crossed*

every ep she changes her mind.
first: leave her alone.
next: take the risk!
now: let her go

Lana married to Lex now, did anyone except Martha to say "Go break up the marriage!"?
I don't see where everyone getting all this flip flopping from Martha.
I didn't watch tonight's episode, but from reading people's comments it doesn't seem that bad.
Last week she saw how broken up Clark still was over Lana, he still hasn't moved on from her like she suggest weeks before which as a mother you try to suggest the best thing that's in your child interest.
So her telling Clark to tell Lana how he feels for the last time before she goes and make things official with Lex is the was for a peace of mind for Clark, for Clark to finally get closure.
....
Let me back track now and I just read on another board that Martha told Clark that it was human for him to feel what he's feeling for Lana, that he can't just write those feelings away because that's what makes him human.
Yeah... donno what to say about that since I didn't watch the episode. :p

Me too. Martha gives the worst advice! Maybe it's good he died before he got a dose of the multiple- personality-causing meteors being added to the water in Smallville.

Flippity- flop flippity-flop, Easter's on the way!!
I have noticed with the Lana/Lex arc that people are constantly giving Clark conflicting advice from episode to episode. It's all done to generate maximum angst for Clark. Clark knows that Lex is evil, and that Lana's marriage to him is a bad thing, but I have no idea what Martha and Chloe really think! It's like they are on a different show.
Martha's advice is generally correct when it comes to being an ex-boyfriend and you see your ex-girlfriend getting married to somebody else. But we are talking Lex Luthor here!! Or course, Martha is friendly with Lionel. What does Martha really think about Lex? Do Martha and Clark ever talk anymore?

First she told Clark to do what he had to do, but now that Lana is married she thinks that he has to move on. What's wrong with that???
