I am very happy about the "fight club" reference.

LMAO - That was the line I was looking for in this thread. I was just waiting for someone to say it on the show. :p

I think it's safe to assume that Clark is not making soap in his basement. But damn, a krypto-fight club.........how cool would that be - ultimate fighting can take a hike.

Maddox is no Mongul but did any other Justice League cartooners think the Fight Club was a nod to "Warworld"?

Superman recruited for an alien's vicious fight club entertainment where the bloodthirsty audience is asked whether the defeated contestant should live or die. :)

Heh heh!
The Maddox tackiness and "man of steel" moniker did seem to be more of a tie-in to Spiderman I but who says you can't mix and match your tributes?

The only real connection between Combat and Fight Club is they have fights in them, really. Whereas Fight Club was a nihilistic, anti-materialistic movie that happened to feature men trying to find something out about themselves through fighting, this episode was just about, well, fighting. Although I do think Superman would be one of the most anti-materialistic heroes ever, given the chance and a proper story to show it. I don't think he's very Tyler Durden-esque though. Clark's too much of an optimist, and he'd definitely never go for the guerrilla terrorism thing.
