Also, I thought that the sound editing was not that good...

That fight scene is begging for some Nine Inch Nails (like the NIN song used in the trailer for 300). If my compy at home wasn't broken I'd make something. :(

The music was too loud and obstrusive. It jarred me out of scenes and made it difficult to discern what the dialogue was at times.

Couldn't agree more, I found it very distracting.

To be honest, I didn't even notice the music that much.

there weren't any songs or anything. however, the score to the show was much darker than usual, which worked very well because this episode was one of the darkest episodes i've seen in the show so far. the lighting in the epi was dark throughout. the supposed "miscarriage" of Lana's baby. Clark's anger at Lexana's marriage. everything about this episode calls for dark and creepy music. and Mark Snow delivers, if it's still him composing because the style of music in this one is completely different than all other episodes. from the very first scene, which took place in clark's barn, the music was already creepy. kudos to whoever scored this one. :)

The music was excellent in my opinion. I hope I find out what those techno/rock songs were!

I didn't notice the music either - which means it blended well for me. Now I need to watch it again and see what music was playing. :p
