Interesting topic as the first season has been great. But alot of debut seasons are good and head downhill after that.
How many seasons can you see Heroes lasting? And if so in the next couple of seasons what will they base the storyline on? More Heroe characters most probably?

Heroes seems like the kind of show which has their core cast updated on a regular basis; we've already lost Simone, and gained Claude and The Haitian. So theoretically, it could go on for a long time, providing fresh storylines every season.

I think we will see at least five. Lets face it there are enough of us on the band wagon to keep it going for awhile. Hit shows can of course continue to be huge hits for years (24, CSI). Of course there are other shows that start strong and then go down hill immediately in the second season (Desperate Housewives, Lost(in my opion)). But from what we have seen is the shows that start as strong as Heroes has usually last at least 3 to 5 seasons.

The premise for this series could carry it on for a very long time.
I'm talking "Days of our Lives" longevity.
Think about it, at any time they could bring in fresh new "Heroes", young or old.
Michah can be training Parkman's (if it is his) child someday.
Claire could meet some guy who shares a simuliar power and they can go around poking each other in the gut with swords and laugh as they wake up. What power would thier kid popup with? Mind staggering indeed!
Nathan's boys can be in the mix as well, heading to school with Michah.
Oh the hijinks and situations they could get into together. Getting into fights about some cute girl at school, or who may have cheated on a test or on the ballfield.
OK, my Heroes withdrawels are getting to me.
It seems soooo long before the 23rd of April..sigh.

I think its funny that we have predecided the death of the show. I think we could guess all we want to but lets face it as long as we all watch the show will go on. Now the show does have one thing most dont. That of course would be disposable characters. Should anyone of them want more money or they lose viewers they can easily be killed off. Other shows like Smallville; if they lose Tom Welling the show is over.

With constant changes in cast and plotlines limited only by imagination, this show could go on for a very long time.
I mean Simpsons or ER long.
One can only dream.
If we all concentrate hard enough do you think we could affect space-time enough to bring April 23rd that much closer?

We can't predict how long a series will go, but the more support we give it, the longer it will last.
Lets try to get the time shift now!!

I'll never figure out what made me watch Pee-Wee, but like a kid to Barney, I couldn't help but watch.
Trivia: The late Phil Hartman colaberated on the creation of the character "Hee-Wee Herman".

The two guys were actually best friends and Phil took him to court once over the theft of the Character. I believe they settled out.

You know what, as much as Heroes is a VERY GOOD SHOW (in fact, the bestest among the restest!), I don't want it to suffer the same fate as LOST and Alias. Those shows were really good but accdg to Dominic Monaghan, there was a beginning and an ending and somehow, the producers wanted to stretch the middle parts. I don't want that to happen to Heroes. I would rather they only last for 3 seasons but each episode be a really unique and amazing one. Get what I mean? So there.

Yea this is my favorite show ever and every episode leaves you with a huge cliff hanger for the next episode!
But I think this will def. last a while but it will be really interesting to see what they do with it after the whole explosion thing...

I think beyond three would be an over exaggeration. Might become as stale as smallville......

The question would be if it can top itself during season two! Thats got to be hard tho, this season as been tremendous! But they didnt think 24 could do it after season 1 was so good(from what I heard, never watched it). Now it's in its 5th or 6th season and has signed on for 3 more! Wow! I think HEroes will be there as well. There has been other scifi shows that never got ratings this high for any of its season and made it past 6; Smallville, Highlander, Star Trek(any of them), Stargate and The Brady Bunch( ) are a few examples.

I heard somewhere that the creators and writers have ideas for the storyline going into the 5th season (not saying they're only looking to make 5 seasons). As long as the show doesn't get dry (and how could it) I'd watch it forever.

It would be sad though if several seasons from now only a handful fo the original cast remains. Although, I would really like to see people like Hana, D.L., and Micah become more important. Too bad my instincts tell me D.L. isn't surviving the finale. This is one time I want to be wrong.

Im sure as some of the cast moves on to movies they will get killed off. Question is who!

I think a better question could be how many seasons SHOULD the show last?
I'm not sure I could have forseen a show that has been this good all the way through a whole season, let alone several. I can honestly say there isn't a filler episode in the whole run so far. I think it also helps that it hasn't become formulaic in any way. Everything we see relates always to one of a myriad of excellent characters or to the story-arc relating to the bomb. Characters aside it will all boil down to wether the plot arc(s) for future seasons are as good.
As to how long could the show last? Probably 7-10 seasons. It is certainly developing a very strong following. Not only that I think it is breaking out of the sci-fi/fantasy demographic somwhat too. I think it SHOULD last maybe 3-4. After a couple of seasons I think it will be tough introducing new and interesting powers/characters. In addition any show cannot help be anything but formulaic after a while.
I hope that it doesn't get turned into a cash cow and made to run way over the time it takes to tell all it's stories well. Yet also I hope it doesn't get cancelled before it can reach that point either. Anyway I hope the could/should question piques some interest on this thread.

I thought it should have stopped at season six.
I can go one more season IF they do some better writing.

If it were to go for five season, then they could continue to the future that Hiro just left bringing the show full circle!

I thought I was in another area of the boards
Ahem.....
I think HEROES could go on forever, the cast can change over the years, but the stories can go on forever.
Some day Michah could be the elder 'Hero'.
