This episode confirmed for me that season 6 is the best season yet. I was a HUGE fan of season 3 and still am but it has finally been beaten out for me. Season 6 has had some BRILLIANT writing and I want someone who has watched this show from day 1 to say it hasnt been on top of its game. If youve watched every episode since it aired, i think youll realize how amazing this season is.

I'm not just talking about this brilliant episode but it just made me realize how great the season has been.

Lana finding out about Clark's secret is HUGE!! I have been waiting for that one but now we have to wait a season o rtwo before Clark knows that Lana knows his secret. I'm sure Lana will tell Chloe and then make her promise not to tell Clark and yet again put Chloe in an akward position.

I knew this would be an important episode when I read the description of the next episode. The next episode is a huge filler and those episodes are usually preceded by a very important episode.

I must admit, I didn't think the episode would be this good. Although it was some parts that made me mad, but overall this was a great episode. I am so happy that Lana knows Clark secret and that Lionel found out that Lana knew and blackmailed her to marry Lex! The other part that was so awesome was the fact that clana is o-v-e-r! :D

The first season was always the best for me because it was all new. However, I will say the order is:

1) Season 1
2) Season 6
3) Season 2
4) season 4
5) season 3
6) season 5 - (apart from episode 1 - its not even worth its existence).

ah? Well I think season 6 has been horrible so far, with only 2 good episodes on his belt "Justice" and "Promise" and both with their faults. Clark has been whinning all season. Lana has been so inconsistenly written, the same with Lionel. The "zoners" storyline has been totally uninteresting and like always, the most interesting thing, level 33.1, kept to a minimun.

The episode was ok. A lot of work has to still be done for me to believe Lex is evil. I'm still more scared of Lionel. The way it was done with Lana learning Clark's secret was the best part. I just wish that the alien part of Clark had been revealed to Lana, but I guess that's why there is a 7th season.

Good question, I don't remember. I believe that she does know that Clark arrived in Smallville at the time of the first meteor shower. Also, that

1) Krytonians arrived in a meteor shower (the second one).
2) The kid who could tell meteor freaks said that Clark was not one.
3) That Kryptonians have lots of powers whereas meteor freaks usually have one.

Seems like she'd give some serious thought now to who exactly Clark is, not just what he can do.

Of course this woman has taken six seasons to get this far, but they are treating her as having some brains now.

Agree Season 6 has been by far the best season so far.

I rank it like this:
1) Season 6
2) Season 1
3) Season 5 (100th Episode was amazing!)
4) Season 3
5) Season 4
6) Season 2

Hydra

As far as I'm concerned season 6 has been the weakest

I'd rank them like this...

Season 3 (smallville in all it's glory. Lex and Lionel Always duking it out, and Lionel was EEEVIILLLL!)
Season 2 (The perfect build up season to season 3)
Season 5 (BARELY better than season one, but this season felt like we were actually starting to watch Superman)
Season 1 (Had its flaws, but it was fun and an otherwise solid starting point for the show)
Season 4 (enjoyed the season the first time I watched it, but repeat viewings don't hold up as well)
Season 6 ( I wanted to like this season, I really did, and I thought 'Zod' was amazing, There have also been a handful of other episodes which I've genuinely enjoyed, but after last year I feel this season is a several steps backward. Not only that but I feel it's getting stale. The charectars aren't getting anywhere, and the show is starting to reek of soap opera more than it ever has. In the past I would have said Smallville was a sci-fi superman show with elements of Soap opera mixed in there. Now the show is a full blown soap opera with a dash of sci-fi and even less Superman.)

I like episodes that get people to talk about it - I mean good or bad (I personally liked it a lot) - it causes people to think about what did and didn't make sense - what the viewers want to see comes out and then the writers get some direction from the feedback - at least that's my take on it.

This episode was perfectly well done, from lana finding out the secret, to being fine with it and leaving lex, to the sariface she had to make in order to save the life of the man she loves the most. the wedding part was the most heartbreaking thing I've ever had to watch, I'll admitt I cryed when lana told clark that she didn't want to be with him. I totally agree. A real man embraces his feelings. Why shouldn't he feel sad and alone? He's gone through alot of unfair and unfortunate crap within the last two seasons, losing JK and losing Lana, and losing her to Lex of all people. He loved her when he broke up with her. He only did it in such a mean way because he knew that she wouldn't leave any other way. He was just pretending so that he could protect her. His love was always there though. I'm not a Clana shipper or any established shipper, I like Lexis myself, but I thought that Clark went through an understandable range of emotions in this episode. He may be powerful but he isn't an unfeeling guy. This stuff hurt him, isn't he allowed to feel sad about losing the girl that he loved?

Really? Explain, because if anything I think this season has gotten worse with time. I'll concede that Justice was a lot of fun, and there have been some good episodes sprinkled throughout, but even in the good episodes I've found that this show has just gotten less consistant as time goes by.

Well for starters I don't know if its fair to call us haters. Personally I don't watch Smallville with plans to hate or dislike the episodes. If anything I've long been a supporter of the show even when other people were speaking out against it (season 3 and 4 saw fans predicting the shows end by the finale of each respective season, yet the show still exists today). The point is the the writing in this season particularly has gotten sloppy (more sloppy than in past seasons), and this episode, while certainly filled with 'wow' moments is poorly constructed, so all of the important moments that should have come across as memorable, came across as teeth gratingly frustrating (I don't know if 'gratingly' is a word, but I just made it one).

You ladies are absolutely right. We Men (therefore Clark, seeing as he is one of us) should be free to express our emotions. But my problem is not that Clark feels hurt, but rather that Clark kind of deserves it due mostly to the fact that the writers seem to be on crack (which is their own business, but for the sake of the show they really need to learn to abstain whilst writing... well... the show) or suffering a severe case of amnesia.
Clark spent the better part of five seasons before his balls finally dropped and he decided to trust Lana with his secret... fine, I can live with that. Upon telling her however she dies, and Clark is forced to bring her back via time travel which results in the loss of his adoptive father. So now he decides not to tell her and not only that but breaks up with her by making out with a hypnotist hooker and telling Lana that he "doesn't love her". Irritating... but fine I'll bite.
Now Clark inexplicably decides to tell Lana his secret... for the first time... I mean again... whatever! Anyways he decides to tell her. Now regardless of the fact that his whole driving purpose for not telling her in the first place was because he was afraid she would die (a fiasco that ultimately cost Jonathan Kent his life) he seems to have inexplicably forgotten this and has decided to tell her anyways.
Now some of you may argue that because Jonathan is now dead, (thus fulfilling Jor-El's prophecy that someone close to Clark would die) Clark now feels it's safe to come out of his superhero closet again, but if that's the case why didn't he do that immediately after Jonathan died instead of going through this whole convuluted process that ended (thus far) in Lana's marriage to Clarks worst enemy? And I haven't even covered the whole 'Clark being a homewrecker angle yet'.

So you see my/we/people who are feeling the same way as me, aren't feeling angry at Clark because he's feeling emotions, but rather because he's been such an idiot since "Reckoning" that we can't help but feel angry that the writers now expect us to feel sorry for him.

Wait wait....dont you think if there was ONE thing that would make Clark tell Lana his secret its the possibility of losing her FOREVER.....to LEX of all people? I mean what else would drive you to do things out of character than losing the one you love to your bitter rival?!

^Vulpii, like so many of us have said before, it's not the Clarks feeling sorry for him that we have a problem with, it's the fact that he's ultimately to blame, and his sudden decision to change his mind doesn't make sense.

Read my post on page four.

Sorry, but this episode was a joke. The writing was inorganic, manipulative, and contrived. It was just...really bad.

The episode could've had the same basic things happen, with the same outcome, and been miles better than the dreck we got. But, as usual, th writers took the easy, lazy way out.

Actually if the writers hadn't been so lazy in the first place this episode wouldn't have had to have happened at all.

2) Season 6
3) Season 2
4) season 4
5) season 3
6) season 5 - (apart from episode 1 - its not even worth its existence).

Wow almost like mine. For me:

1) Season 6
2) Season 5
3) Season 2
4) Season 3
5) Season 1
6) Season 4

:D And yes the episode was awsome. Top Stuff

I cannot fathom how season three can be so low on so many people's lists.

Season 5+6+3
Season 1+2+4

That's how I rate them, anyways. 5, 6, and 3 were better than 1, 2, and 4. But I can't rank any of 5, 6, and 3 above or below one another nor 1, 2, and 4.

This episode wasn't awesome. It has some great moments, but people were acting totally out of character. It was just stupid.

I loved this eppy! awesome and so what if clark wanted to take lana away even if she's "expecting" lex's child, so what? LOL
ok so I loved this eppy so much because of lana's suffering, see finally we get to see her suffer SWEET!! and shelby, awesome performance.
I couldn't yell @ the tv (like I always do) because my cat had been spayed that day, so she was hurting and didn't want to wake her up. (she was sleeping next to the tv, why would she do that? still donno =0 But my cat is doing great now!

Agreed. Even though I stated before that Season 6 has now become my favorite season, I did say it was originally Season 3. I believe my list is as follows.

1) Season 6
2) Season 3
3) Season 2
4) Season 5
5) Season 1
6) Season 4

I cannot fathom how people do not think season 4 was the WORST season yet. the storylines wore TERRIBLE. Talk about bad writing? That season it was at it's worst! The stones?!? AWFUL, not one of those storylines has any connection to Smallville as a whole. It's like if that season had never been written, there would be no difference in the series. Jason Teague and his mother? Who gives a ****?

Hmmm... With all due respect I actually didn't mind that whole arch. To be fair when I rewatch that season I find it far less enjoyable on a whole. So while season four is certainly not at the top of my list it is still pretty close to the bottom. Although I'm going to have to say, unless the writers can pull out something unlike anything that's ever been seen on this show over the course of the next six episodes... season six will find its place planted firmly at the bottom of my list in regards to favorite seasons.

Seriously. This episode was the best, if not the second best (Jonathan's death episode being the best), in Smallville history. It would have been a great season finale, and a cliffhanger. I really can't imagine how they will beat this in the finale. Give your opinion. (And no, finding out Chloe's secret power is not that intriguing).

I'm still looking foward to find out the nature of Lana's baby. I'm also interested what will go down when Lionel calls in his favor from Lex. What is Lionel really after?
This wasn't my favorite episode of the season, but a lot of interesting things happened.

AMAZING!

I can't believe how much I love this episode. In the numerous times I have now viewed it, I end up watching the whole thing from start to finish...usually I would just re-watch certain scenes...but in this case , EVERY scene is my favorite.

I never thought an episode that was so heartbreaking to watch would be one of my favorites....

I couldn't agree more. And the filler episodes - as long as they promote movement in the main characters' development are good - just not as good as the major episodes.

While I hate the Lexana wedding, it happened for a reason and this was an outstanding episode which just compliments a truly amazing season. Even the continuity others complain whined about in the past (What happened to Shelby? for instance) has been great. The rescue scene in Vortex used in Lana's dream - how huge was that?

Season 6 has had some BRILLIANT writing and I want someone who has watched this show from day 1 to say it hasnt been on top of its game. If youve watched every episode since it aired, i think youll realize how amazing this season is.

I'm not just talking about this brilliant episode but it just made me realize how great the season has been.

YES you are on POINT!. i agree with you 110%
