I laughed out loud cuz everyone (martha, chloe, lionel?) thought clark was gonna do something and he didnt. Martha turns around and Im like ok here it comes.....and then nothing.

Didn't Martha just tell Clark to leave Lana alone? And now she's telling him to take his chance at getting her back?

Say what?

Writers have the force with them. It's the mind whammy.

Who cares? If Clana lives, the world will go on!

I think Martha realized that it's been a year and he's still not over her, so they should be together!

I think that Martha's advise was hope that the future is not always certain

I also believe that Clark can have, 2 women!!

or maybe clark's heart goes to Lana and Superman's heart goes to Lois!!!

That would be snazzy!

Um, this thread should be entitled "Everyone's contradicting advice." Chloe was doing it too. And they keep switching between telling us that Clark and Lana are meant to be together and implying that they should move on and that Clark needs to end up with Lois.

...Yikes.

Does anyone else sense a strange "Lanois" theory approaching?!

Why after 6 years of protecting Clark's secret does she have no problem with Clark wanting to tell Lana his secret? If Jonathan was around they would have freaked out about it. They did every other time....

Hmmm... Poor writing? Yeah, that must be it.

^ Yup that's pretty much it.

I'm pretty sure they've had the discussion in season 3 about him telling her his secret. That one episode with the return of clone girl. Didn't they decide then that it was Clark's desicion.

She was at Lex's wedding, she has no thought process !

Because he is old enough now to make his own desisions. Him doesn't need mommy and daddy to do for him. he's a big boy now.

Is it just me or is Martha acting differently sice she became sentor? Maybe its just me. She used to act more like a mom....now....i dunno. All its seems that she worries about is Lionel. At least when they put her in the show thats whos shes got a scene with.

The Martha character has changed dramatically, I don't know where they are headed with her.

Yes poor writing... the same with Chloes character.
In "freak" she told Clark to move on, and in "promise"
shes mad at Clark for not "saving Lana" and not telling her the truth.

I think it's because she's finally realized that Clark is old enough to make decisions for himself and she realizes that this may be his only chance to be with Lana.

Martha is on drugs and worse, she isn't sharing.
Or she had a personality transplant.
Maybe when she gives good advice its actually MM in disguise.

that's my theory: anyone who gave clark any logical advice in the last few episodes was the MM in disguse.

So I made the thread and I'm reply #3? What's up with this place? Strange.

Martha did not tell Clark to ''go after'' Lana. I believe that Martha was simply answering Clark's question based upon her own life-experience. From here, Clark interpreted her ''advice'' (if one chooses to call it that) in the manor in which he deemed fit; he (not Martha) made the decision to ''save'' Lana.

Remember when Martha was Clark's mom and not a Luthor sidekick? They are not doing her character any justice.

I can't remember the exact quote, but didn't Martha tell Clark in an earlier episode this season that maybe the reason he did not tell Lana his secret was because maybe down deep inside, he knew she was not the one.

And that she was sure that there was someone out there that he could share everything with.

She also said that after he kidnapped Lana and made an *** out of himself

am I the only person who remembers that?

She knew he was on Red K when he did so. She was telling him to leave her alone, from then on, about anything to do with their old relationship.

Don't drink the Kool-Aid. :p

I made this thread, with that title. It was merged or something, though I don't really understand why. Ah, well.

there's been a lot of merging done for this episode--maybe everyone has the same stuff to rant about...
