Ok,
What was up with Lex offering up both LuthorCorp and 33.1? I didn't understand that part. Was he willing to sacrifice all of that just to be with Lana? That has made me really think that maybe he does love her and this goes far beyond just wanting to make Clark jealous. He seeme to be so desperate in wanting to be with her.

I just want to make sure; that's the reason he was offering up LuthorCorp and 33.1? Or was it so Lionel could leave him alone? That's where I'm confused?
And, if Lex loves Lana why is he messing with their baby? Too confusing.

33.1 is a huge sacrafice after all he's gone thru to keep it a secret. i would like to think Lex mainly doesn't want to go to jail right now because he's plotting so much evil.

That's how I saw it, yes.
Think about it: even killing the doctor was an accident. What a fine super villain that is...
I think he's desperate.
He finally got the girl, now he wants to keep her.
Having a murder charge on his hands, let alone having it be Lana's physician, is not going to look well plus she'll find out about the whole pregnancy situation being a scam.
Lionel knows he's got Lex in his back pocket, and Lex is desperate enough to have things end well that he offers up the secret project that is so valuable to him.
At least, that's the way I see it.

It bothers me a little how Lana gets to Lex, so much that he killed a man and was willing to give up his company and his favorite project. Interesting...

It's part of the destruction of Lex Luthor's character. It goes along with Clark proposing to a pregnant Lana on the same day of her wedding to Lex

it bothers me too msleggie.....when Lex was offering up the company and 33.1 it remided me of how willing Clark was in Mortal and at the end of Labryinth to give up his powers to have a normal life with Lana..
that is a serious parallel....Clark's abilities will be an important part of who he is and will be. Lex's dealings with 33.1 and the company etc are also an important part of who he will be.....and they BOTH were so eager and willing to give it up in a minute to be with Lana....kinda sad that the villian and the hero both giving up what makes them them...for Lana

I know meggy, what is it about Lana that's making these guys go gaga and loose their minds? Those two are to willing to give up important aspects of their lives for her. It makes me so mad that Clark and Lex are going to eventually turn into Superman and one of the greatest villians ever, due to some whining, spoiled, indecisive chick!

I also think a good part of Lex's obsession with Lana is his need to one up Clark. Don't forget, Lex will go to great lenghts to "win". He's proven that time and time again.
He's also taken on his father and beat him at his own game in the past. Don't think when push comes to shove, Lex won't be prepared to spar with Lionel. He doesn't like to lose. I think this is what will lead to the death of Lionel at Lex's hands.

It all goes to prove that men think with their little heads.
I think Lex is willing to do anything to cover up the mess he has made in order to get lana.I do believe he has always loved Lana tho.
Yeah yeah who hasn't loved Lana
But if all goes to crap I can see Lex Luther losing any human feelings he has left and turning into the villian we all know and love. :p

I don't buy that Lex would give up 33.1 let alone Luthorcorp for Lana. Back at the beginning of season 6 we all know when she gave him the ultimatum- her or the Kryptonian power source he would have chosen the power source if the phantom hadn't broke into the mansion and absorbed all of the energy, leaving it a pile of dust. Or at the very least kept experimenting on it in secret.

Umm guys don't give up hope on evil Lex!
Lex may have been willing to give up LuthorCorp and 33.1 because the baby Lana is carrying is vital to his diabolical plan!

That's the only part I didn't like of this episode - the fact that Clark was going to propose that same day - that was just desperate of him. They should have called this episode Desperate because all three people (Lana, Lex, and Clark) all did things out of desperation. I think it would have been better to show Clark just waiting with Shelby and talking corny stuff rather than showing that he was going to propose. IMO
But I do think that it was a strange desperate attempt by Lex to offer up LuthorCorp and 33.1 to his dad - I mean that was just a straight sign of weakness and a sign to Lionel that his son would do whatever he wanted to keep Lana "She's made your into a desperate man" - Lex better get his edge back or he's going to end up a henchman for his daddy.

nahhh....it just means that Lionel has plans for Lex and he can't have him falling apart before he can get what he wants. You know, Lionel, he's such a caring father.

That's what I thought as well, but somewhere along the way he must've really fallen in love with her. Lex has just become so pathetic with Lana. I cannot wait for lexana to finally be over so we can move away from this ****.

I just didn't like the timing of that line; Lionel had literally just berated Lex for acting desperate, and so delivering that line proved Lionel absolutely right. I don't say this often, but it was very out of character.

Lex is desperate. He doesn't have genuine love for Lana. He just doesn't want to "LOSE" to Clark. Knowing that Lana still loves Clark, Lex knows very well who she'd be with if it wasn't him.
He is pathetic. Offers to surrender the company and overt special projects he's been overseeing to Lionel just in order to hold onto a woman who Lionel knows was about to leave him at the altar. No wonder Lionel backhands the idiot.

The Clexana was like the earlier season Chlarkana triangle and Lex was like Chloe in regards to Lex wanting someone but them really liking someone else (minus Lex marrying her). It made Lex out to be sympathetic, sad, wimpy but weak like the earlier season of Chloe with her pining after Clark. I'm just glad this wasn't the season finale.

The fact that Lex is willing to sacrifice all of LuthorCorp, the 33.1 project, everything he has worked for all these years just for Lana shows he truly does love her, in as much as he is capable of loving. Remember he hasn’t exactly had any good role-models in the love department.
As for the ultimatum Lana gave about the alien artifact from the ship, recall Lex had other options. He could easily have chosen her but continued to research the artifact in secret. With Lionel he views only two options…give Lionel anything he wants or lose Lana forever. His priority was made pretty clear.

I don't believe that Lex loves Lana. How can you love someone that you hardly know? Lex, in reality, only knows the basics about Lana. I do believe that Lex loves the idea of loving Lana and everything associated with this love, which ties into his desperation, and thus he offers both Luthor Corp and 33.1 to Lionel.

That's fascinating that you should say that. That is exactly what I have always felt about Clark. He's never really known Lana. There has never been any indication on this show that he and Lana ever had a close relationship before high school after Whitney left. In fact I recall Lana remarking once about how they had grown up living so close and she had never even been up in his loft before. He's had this idealized version of her in his head and that ideal is what he has fantasized about and what I think he is in "love" (obsessed) with. He does not really love Lana or he would have told her the truth a long time ago. You cannot lie that much and for that long to someone you supposedly love.

it didn't make sence lex wanting to give up 33.1 and lexcorp.
cause in lexmas he decided he wanted it all, so he wanted lana and the kids, and the money and power to save lana when/if she dies.
is isn't it like going back to square 1?..if he didn't mind giving up everything he should have dropped out of the senator's race like his mother said.

Yeah, Lex made it very clear to Clark in Vessel and in Trespass that Lana is someone he won over from him. So whatever "love" Lex feels for Lana is definitely overshadowed by coveting everything Clark ever had.

I believe the only reason Lex was willing to give up so much, really had nothing to do with Lana. The baby on the other hand is all together a different story. Lex is planning something horrific and Lana is merely the vessal.

Lex wants the Lexmas dream, but he doesn't want to lose Lana like he did in Lexmas. He lied to Lana about what his mother thought of him during his brief visit with her in Void (I think it's Void, but I'm not sure. It's the one where they were using green k to die) and now he wants to prove his mother wrong about him. His mother's disappointment in him clearly hurt and unsettled Lex.
Even if, somewhere down deep in his evil little warped mind, Lex does indeed love Lana, she is still more of a trophy to him. He wants to believe that he is good, that he is right, and that he has to be the one to save the world from the hero on the cave wall. To Lex, Lana represents good and he feels better, "more good," if you will, when she is around. Kind of like she is the yardstick by which he can measure his goodness. She also is a measure of his victory over Clark. Lana is very important to Lex's perception of Lex. She validates him and his plans. He thinks she provides the good in him when, in reality, the good is not there like he wants it to be. It would appear that a man would give up a great deal to have Lana. A thread about her being a powerful woman supports this idea. In this case, the power that Lana has over Clark and Lex was given to her when they abdicated themselves and their independence to her.
Yep, Lex has become trully pathetic! I can't believe I used to have him on my hunk list! Well, he is off it now! Oh, Lex, what did Lana do to you?
