Lex is a god

If Lana would have chosen Clark what would they have done about the baby she is carrying? Lex would be in their lives for good. Did Clark even consider this before thinking about asking Lana to marry him again?

That isn't the point. At this moment of "Promise", Lana and Clark believe she's pregnant just as much as the media. Yet, Clark was still ready to "sweep her off her feet" by revealing his powers to her on her wedding day, actually ready to propose to her despite the fact she's carrying another man's child while accepting his proposal, and even goes as far to try and persuade Lana to leave with him after she's married Lex. More or less, completely contradicting what Clark's been about since literally 22 episodes ago, as except for a very brief moment in "Fade" where he "hopes Graham is right", he's been all about trying to let Lana go. Yet suddenly, at the last minute, he decides to steal her from Lex as if he's still on Red K, not even taking into account Lex might suspect the truth about him if Lana were to leave him (as Lionel figured Lana knew when he saw she was ready to leave Lex).
One more thing, Clark made it boldly clear after Raya died that he was ready to fulfill his destiny and undergo the full-extent of his Fortress training. If Lana had left Lex, would he have suddenly changed his mind and gone "Ehhhh...I'll just let the last couple zoners come to me, and as for the training ... screw it, I'm gettin' laid tonight!". Seriously, Clark wasn't even thinking when he was practicing that proposal or trying to convince Lana to leave after she'd already married; he wasn't thinking of finishing the zoners, Lex's suspicions, 33.1, or even his solemn promise that he'd go through the Fortress training so Raya wouldn't have died in vain. I mean come on, we gotta wonder if Clark still had some dormant Red K in his system in this episode, or the writers really did drop the ball. Thank God Lana didn't leave Lex, otherwise we'd get two or three more seasons of useless dragging-on that some of season 5 and all of season 6 has basically been.

ACTUALLY.
There is no episode that says the baby doesn't exist, not yet. Not even on "Promise" if anything! The recent episode leads us to believe it does exist. But is a meteor-infected, or Zod-infected. So... hmmm... let's not be so coy with each other over non-proved facts.

No one cares about the baby... not Lex, not Lana, or Clark. Poor thing. (If it exists) and poor baby, even if it's a crazy meteor-infected baby. (like in Lex's dream)

See, that's one of the things that bothered me the most about that scene. Lana still doesn't know there's no baby. Clark still doesn't know there's no baby, but neither of them stop the madness for a second and though "Wait. Lana, you're pregnant with Lex Luthor's child. You think is a good idea to run away now?" No. Our future Superman didn't give a crap.

Aren't we being a little harsh toward Clark? I'm assuming everyone has been madly in love at one point or another and Lana and Clark seem to be deeply, madly in-love. That hasn't changed at all over the years. If anything it's grown deeper. So, I think when the love of your life is about to make the ultimate commitment to someone else, rationale and reason go out the window. You're not thinking, "what's the logical thing to do, let me plot it out and be totally sensible about it." You're being driven by pure emotion. I think the heart is the ultimate driving force at that moment, not the logical mind. Clark was totally unprepared when he saw Lana at the altar with Lex. Afterall, a few hours earlier, she said she loved him and would meet him. Let's cut the guy some slack. Broken hearts have never felt good and love & raw emotion can make you do some of the wildest things - just like extreme anger can make you do and say things you might later regret.
Clark seems to truly love Lana. If she's pregnant, then by extension, he's going to love her child - and I believe love it as if it were his own. Is what he did so out of character. I recall in Superman II, he gave up his powers for Lois. Clark's weakness (if you perceive it as such) is that he loves to the extreme - in this case Lana, in the future I suppose - Lois. I can't be angry at him for that. And I for one wouldn't turn down the type of self-sacrificial love that these two continually show one another. It's a rare gem.
