I think she knows in the comics...not 100% sure though.
Yeah I'm pretty sure she does.

in smallville canon i agree. this is the major moment that smallville completely deviates from film and comic and previous shows.
lex has never married lana before in smallville. so this with ep 100 is of monumental importance to the story of smallville.
It has official and forever broken canon.

Can't Clark Kent catch a freakin break!!! This "no love must save" crap has gone on for too long!!! Now his biggest enemy is stealing his women. :( :( :( :( :( :(
Now she has to go and make love to that animal. This is demented.
Is it me or did this episode seem like the one last season where Clark lied to Lana about why they couldn't be together, only this time it's Lana doing the talking?

Those first three posts wanted me to bash my skull into the wall.
Hey, in the comics, Clark wears tights and flies around beating up bad guys. In a Cape! NO LIE!

Yes this episode was very important in regards to the shows continuity. Too bad it had to be so poorly executed in every way.

Yeah, you're right of course...
I loved the MB. There were some great Lionex moments. The slap!!! Ah, like the good old times.
In the Comics - Lana is the first one to know that Clark is Superman - she even writes him a letter to tell him so -
One thing I didn't see mentioned here was that Lex was out of Character - he was actually happy to have Lana as his wife - if and when she leaves him - and Lex realizes it's for Clark - is that what gives him his final, ever so soft and gentle , push over to the dark side?

It better not be. I've always wanted it to be the murder of Lionel, or something more manly than... "Ooooooh, I'm so angry that Clark took my little perfect Goddess named Lana away from me! boo hoo, now I'll dedicate my life to destroying Superman who inexplicably turned into Superman who has no resemblance whatsoever to clark because Clark wears glasses... oh wait... ANYWAYS I'M MAAAD!"
Okay my rant is done.

I do think it will create a change in Clark. He will push aside his feelings of love and tackle responsibility, since he didn't get anywhere with love. I think he will grow up alot from this, I also think he can't trust his feelings on what humans will do. Maybe even go so far to seek Jor-el.

If im correct IN THE COMICS, Lana finds out when she witnesses Clark doing his thang. And in 'Promise' she 'witnessed' Clark, so yeh im sure they followed the comics there.
And the episode was certainly an important one. I dont think its the most important ever...but its up there IMO

I thought this was an awesome episode, i loved every minute of it. I've always hated how Lana started to hate Clark, but how she found out, and that everything he has ever done was though his love for here, was a truly moving scene.
Also, did Clark sat in the barn with his white shirt on really remind anyone else of Chris Reeve in Superman II ?

Some more sarcasm for you... some people actually don't read the comics and they STILL watch the show! NO LIE!
I knew this factoid, but I wouldn't expect everyone to know...sheesh...

In the comics (post crisis), Clark told Lana his secret just before he was about to leave Smallville. She thought he was going to propose, but he didn't (because in the comics Clark saw Lana as more of a sister, and it was Lana who liked Clark), and instead he showed her what he could do. Lana was ultimately left behind with a broken heart (Clark not realizing that he had hurt her), and later when he became Superman Lana saw the pictures in the paper, the news articles (and I believe she actually saw him live at one point) and put two and two together. Later she met with Clark, and they reconciled thus healing old wounds (more or less).
