Tonite Shelby will be the ring bearer and the flower girl as he has been in wedding dog training for weeks.
(Since he's Clark's dog, he has been trained to bite Lex and whiz on Lana. Martha has treats in her pocket for his reward. :D )

I, for one, am personally, and totally disappointed that she did not accept that proposal. Clark was down on one knee. It was full of deep honest emotion. The words were thoughtful, and obviously well planned. I felt the true love between them as they looked deeply into each other's eyes betraying their heart's desires. I have no idea why Shelby did not say yes, jumping up and licking him right in the face. It would have been a beautiful moment.

Hehe, well obviously Shelby is smarter than most people on this show...
Shelby mistakes the ring for a dog biscuit and eats it. Lana shows up, Clark hangs his head in shame as usual.
I still think they are the best couple on the show. The comics need to be rewritten to get rid of Lois. I can see a new TV series now... Shelby and Clark...

Shelby is a boy dog. Martha said Shelby was the name of a dog she had back when she was younger. But before that they all refer to Shelby as "he". And even the guys who stole him (and they would know) call him "he". (also, remember his original name was Einstein. That is NOT a girl's name.)
And yes, Shelby is kinda a girl's name but it could also be a boys. Kinda like Ashley.

Me and my boyfriend had a whole shelby conversation last night and about how pepole here are crazy . We came to the conclusion that shelby is indeed a boy , but named after a girl. we couldnt figure it out at first.

Yes, Shelby is a boy dog but while Shelby in modern times is traditionally a female name back in older times it was mostly a male name. Sort of like how a lot of boys used to be named Ashley but now almost none are because it's considered a girl's name.
So it could be considered one of those names that works for both males and females i.e. Drew, Pat, Ashley, Marion (traditionally a girl's name but there are some men named that), etc.
