Last night, CBR News attended the “Heroes” Screening and Q&A at the Museum of Television & Radio’s Paley Festival, and was privileged to see a clip from the upcoming episode “.07%.”
In the most recent episode, the ubiquitous Linderman made his first appearance, and told Nathan Petrelli that the congressional candidate was destined to be commander in chief. In “.07%” Linderman continues his pitch.
In the scene, Linderman entertains Nahan in an art gallery which showcases his extensive art collection, paintings of the future all, by Isaac Mendez and people like him. Included among the paintings were those of the fictional Japanese warrior Takezo Kensei. “We all have our roles to play in the events to come,” Linderman says. “This isn’t just a collection of art. This is a road map. These artists envision a brighter future. Peace, prosperity.”
Nathan jabs his finger at a painting of the New York explosion and asks: “Is this your idea of a brighter future?”
“What if I was to tell you that it was?” Linderman replies.
Linderman goes on to explain that he, too, has powers, which came with an audible reaction from the audience. He’d become aware of them years earlier, and banded together with others like him “to make a difference to the world.” But some of his comrades in arms lost their way. “Greed set in, and we split apart. And all the good we’d done, well, it amounted to nothing,” Linderman says.
Then Linderman drops a bombshell, literally and figuratively: the explosion is to be the catalyst for a better future. When Nathan wonders out aloud about the cost in lives, Linderman counters, “There’s six and a half billion people on the planet, that’s less than .07%. Come on, that’s an acceptable loss by anyone’s count.”
“It is your destiny, Nathan, to be the leader who uses this event to rally a city, a nation, a world,” Linderman continues. And to drive the point home, Linderman unveils a prophetic painting of Nathan Petrelli in the Oval Office, seemingly painted by Isaac Mendez.
“If you know all this, you also know the exploding man is my brother Peter,” Nathan says.
“As I said, we all have our role to play. Peter’s curtain call will come the day after you’re elected.”
“.07%,” the first of the final five episode of “Heroes’” first year, is scheduled to air on April 23rd on NBC.

...and you couldn't put that in the "Linderman Spoilers" thread? *rolls eyes*
either way, it pretty much tells the rest of the story arch, and who the real villian is.
My bet is still on Sylar exploding and not Peter.

I don't get what less than .07 percent means. .07% survives, or dies? Linderman doesn't say which one. Either its because its a Monday or I'm just slow today, idk.

.07% would be the amount of people that would die if the bomb thing went off

You think 99.03% of the populatio is in New York??? lol j/k it's ok No he deinately meant that's how many die. I'm not sure why he wants to kill people though. Maybe to flush out the heroes he wants??

Wait a minute, remember in the the interview and in the spoilers section of this site they asked Kring if New york would blow up and he said "Yes.....Maybe." So what could happen is that people will finally see through Linderman's plan, because it seems he has been manipulating EVERYBODY perfectly for Isaacs paintings to come true, so everything happens according to Linderman. Someone has to see though his plan to make the chain of events stop! IT HAS TO BE. IT IS TOOOO OBVIOUS NOW THE EXPLOSION WILL HAPPEN. It's will probably be stopped!

I'm going with the fact that it does happen. This would unite the Season 2 Heroes to BECOME heroes of their time.
My Sylar theory is that he will be the one to explode, because if you've noticed, his powers mimic in a way Peters. Another hint they seem to be dropping is that Sylar cannot control his powers, while Peter now can. It would make sense for Sylar to steal the power from Ted, and then be unable to control the power if he gets hit by someone, just like what happened to Ted when he was shot. This would cause Syler to be the one to explode on the city.

hmmmm maybe something else happens that there is even a worse future then the explosion or something so they pick the explosion

So the bomb going off doesn't create most of the world dying. Unless radiation poisoning kicks in within five years.

I think Peter will be the one to explode still, but there should be some Time Travel involved which will reverse it? I think Hiro has a big role as he's in a post-bomb new york- he'll come back knowing how to stop it. I hope.

Maybe Hiro will see the future after the explosion as a good thing and all his travels since are to help with the explosion.

Maybe the spoiler meant the explosion will happen in the fact that Hiro's gone to the future and seen that it has happened, but it will also not happen because Hiro will come back and stop it.
That could be why they said "yes... maybe" because explaining it without spoiling it would be difficult.

I'll bet Peter explodes, but he is able to lower the effects of it. So if Linderman knows everything, then why does he not off Sylar? Kinda lame to give a man with that much power, a power.
Maybe he has plans for Sylar also.

Everyone has a role to play in Lindermans' grand plan.

Actually HRG did want to kill Sylar and the boss on the end of the phone said no. So who was on the other end of the phone?

Promotional pictures show paintings of a dead hero without a brain and Sylar next to him. Sylar is with Isaac at the latter's loft. Expect this meeting to not go well. Claire is reunited with her father... but so are Candice and Thompson. Matt and Ted are in the episode. Peter's mother finds him post-Sylar batter. He still sports his hair. Claire and Nathan meet. As revealed in spoilers below, Nathan and Linderman continue their talk while walking through his gallery. Source: NBC

After reviewing all of the episodes I can't help but think everyone misunderstands Issac's power. It seems he paints the future, but it is obvious to me that whatever he paints is set in stone, it cannot be altered. Think about it, everything he paints comes true, even a cheerleader died when they thought they saved her. Sure they saved Claire, but that Jackie girl still died, which would mean it was her dead body in the painting.
The city exploding painting can easily be explained as well in either of two different scenarios. The first being the city will in fact explode. Or the second being, Issac did in fact paint the future, but the future of another character, for instance, Hiro saw the city explode. Perhaps all of the paintings he paints are in the perspective of the other heroes. So yes, it was the future, but it was the future in which Hiro teleports to an exploding city. The same can be explained with the view of a destroyed new york from that building Simone's father owned. When Hiro got the sword he and Ando teleported to that exact building with the exact view of the painting. So by painting his own death, he has in fact cemented it in stone and there is nothing he can do to alter it.
That is just my opinion though, purely speculation on my part, I have no proof to back it up.

only painting that was wrong was when sylar was supposed to be a shadow with claire running, but peter was with her and wasnt in the painting, and when issacs about to die all of his paintings are those symbols atleast when hiro sees him dead they are

04/11 - The dense first 15 minutes are simply thrilling, capped by a Sylar-Peter showdown that I can only liken to the song "Dueling Banjos." A new painting is unveiled, this time shedding light on Nathan's fate. There's a funny wink to the practice of spoiling TV shows such as Heroes. A certain sect of "sick" 'shippers get themselves a sweet moment. Lotsa Matt Parkman! Mama Petrelli does not deserve a visit from the FTD man on May 13. Hiro and Ando surface late in the game — or very, very late, depending on how you look at it — but when they do... well, just as you may find yourself wondering, "Oh yeah, whatever happened to...?" you get your answer. And... we fade to black. Source: Trivial Matt'rs
04/11 - Niki has something Linderman wants. (No, not that. Well, maybe that, too.) Oh, and something very, very important to The Company can be found in New York City. Source: Ask Ausiello @ TV Guide
